00:00Hello viewers I'm Abhay and you're watching One India English right now we are standing just
00:05outside Toy Story Lane police have completely barricaded the whole area they are not letting
00:09us in even the journalists they're saying you need a permission from senior cop now we have
00:15gathered few people around there are multiple protesters there are multiple journalists who
00:19are just standing here waiting to go inside or go near Janta Mantar we have few people with us
00:25first of all what is your name hi I'm Advocate Simran from Kerala and what was the purpose you
00:33have come directly from what was the purpose and have you directly come from Kerala to just part
00:38here so at the moment I am practicing at the Supreme Court of India and I have come here on
00:4310th of
00:44October in complete solidarity with the CJP protest happening at the Janta Mantar Road although the
00:49entire area is barricaded and the police and army is deployed heavily over here we cannot
00:55just go inside I mean we are not allowed to go anywhere close to the area and so we are
01:01waiting for some actions to happen so they are waiting for more protesters to join in and then
01:08they will go near those barricades and try to get their way in but what are the main demands what
01:13are
01:13the main issue for which it was last time it was about need what is the main demand this time
01:18this time
01:19it's about the resignation of the chief election commissioner as well as the rolling back of the SIR
01:25and so on and this entire exercise of SIR is a complete attack on the soul of Indian democracy this
01:34is this is such a what do you call black day for the entire nation this whole exercise and for
01:43example in Bengal around 90 lakhs for descent franchise from the water's list and it's like shocking entire
01:49Kerala population is just 3.5 crores and in Bengal around 90 lakhs were disenfranchised from the
01:56water's list and out of the as as per the election commission's records itself as per and out of the
02:0390
02:03lakhs around 30 lakhs did appeal against the move and out of the 30 lakhs around 2 lakhs the orders
02:10were passed in
02:113 2 lakh cases and interestingly in the 2 lakh orders around 93 percent orders were in favor of the
02:19water so this
02:20whole exercise shows that this is so illegal and so arbitrary and this is just hijacking the Indian
02:27democracy from the citizen of the nation so they know the details it's not like they have just come
02:34here to wander around and get detained the first thing how did you get in did police stop you or
02:40what was the process so I stay like 10 kilometer away from the gender mantra and we took a cab
02:46but
02:46in each after after we cross each kilometer police were detaining us and asking where you are going so
02:52we have to actually disguise ourself and say so we are going to some other place and so on there
02:56is no
02:57complete denial of freedom of movement and expression in this at this time okay so these were the guys
03:06further I wanted to add that the government did submit that they'll be banning internet for four
03:13kilometer radius from Rashtarbadi Bhavan but from yeah yeah so once we cross like eight once that I mean
03:20when I checked the Uber it was eight kilometers to gender mantra but even at that time I was not
03:25getting
03:25internet so the initial announcement of barring internet within the four kilometers radius they
03:31have now increased the radius what I saw during this my walk is that many protesters they are disguising
03:37themselves as working professionals and they're trying to get in now they're waiting for cgp leaders
03:43they are waiting for cgp leaders to start the action start the match and at the same time the police
03:49is blocking all the entry points around Delhi so we'll see how this thing rolls out and we'll continue
03:55to update on what Indian English I just want to add something that this is I mean I'm a completely
04:00peaceful protester there's no intention or no motive to create any ruckus or chaos or anything I'm in
04:06complete my all of my even my fellow colleagues have come here just for a very peaceful protest we
04:12wouldn't like move us we wouldn't hurt or so there's a talk about regime change and all so what
04:19will you say up to the right-wing supporters who are alleging that these guys are here for regime
04:24change I don't know about cgp I don't know about others I'm here just for the cause of rolling back
04:31of SIR and for and for showing my marking my protest for what the central government has done with
04:38reference to Bengal elections and so on so viewers keep watching one India news we'll continue to update
