00:00Portugal just stormed into FIFA's top five, and nobody saw it coming this fast.
00:04FIFA dropped the October 2026 rankings on October 7th.
00:08Spain holds number one, after four straight Nations League wins.
00:12Argentina stays second, France third, England fourth.
00:16But Portugal is the story, up two places to fifth, the only top-ten team to move.
00:21Under new coach Jorge Jesus, Portugal won all four of their recent Nations League games.
00:26That run included away wins in Norway and Denmark.
00:30The surge demoted Brazil to sixth and Morocco to seventh.
00:33Spain, by the way, beat Argentina 1-0 in July's World Cup final to claim the crown.
00:39Switzerland also jumped two places to twelfth, and South Africa and Mali each climbed sixth.
00:44And if you think that's crazy, Portugal just stormed into FIFA's top five.
