00:09A new season for Pakistan in 2026.
00:12The whole season starts with the KFC presents Bankal Fala T20i series, Pakistan vs Sri Lanka.
00:25Looking at the Sri Lankan side, Sahanaraj Shige, the more all-rounder batting in the top order.
00:31Shanaka, more the finisher, but the key is going to be Belalage for me.
00:35Left arm spinner, all-rounder.
00:37Tikshana has been struggling, but the seam attack looks quite good.
00:41Chameera, Ishan and Tushara.
00:42It will all be down to the batting.
00:44How much runs are they going to get on this surface?
00:47That was supposedly quite good, in fact.
00:49New captain Saibzada Farhan in blistering form, joined by Fakhar Zaman.
00:53Maa Siddhaqad, what a form he's in.
00:55Hassan Nawaz, very good off the Asian game.
00:57Saim Ayyub as well.
00:58Who bats where will be the question middle order with Shadab and Nafe.
01:02Mohamed Imran, Randhawa and Razahullah receiving their debut caps.
01:06And they will form the three-ponged pace attack with Nassim Shah making a comeback.
01:11But a brawl luck in the ICC rankings, ranked number two, both in ODI and T24.
01:17Formats.
01:24In the air and just away.
01:27Sri Lanka are off and running.
01:33Slashed away.
01:34Slashed away and that will be the first scalp.
01:37Nassim Shah strikes in his very first over.
01:40And gets a big wicket of the opposition captain.
01:43Indeed it's a big wicket.
01:45No doubt about it.
01:47Khusal Mendes.
01:49Nassim Shah was going wide, went hard at it.
01:51Bit of extra bounce and in fact more pace.
01:56And quite an easy catch to the man at third.
02:00Yes, after a wavered start.
02:03Pakistan have got that man.
02:05The captain.
02:06Khusal Mendes out for one.
02:08Sri Lanka in the first over.
02:09A nine for one.
02:14Big heave.
02:15Not quite out of the middle.
02:16But gets his up and over the inside ring.
02:18And finally will get Mishara some runs.
02:21Maybe it will relax him a little bit.
02:26Once again toe end.
02:28It's a sky off.
02:28Fielder settling.
02:30And takes it.
02:31Fakhar Zaman safe as houses.
02:33And the debutant Imran Randhava has his first in T20 internationals.
02:39Too many dots.
02:41And it's just understandable.
02:42That he was just trying to compensate for those dots he's played.
02:48And eventually.
02:50A fairly simple catch to the man at extra cover.
02:54So two wickets gone already in the fourth over.
02:58And it is Mishara's turn to walk back.
03:00Out for six of 13 deliveries.
03:03And Sri Laka now 18 for two.
03:08Now that's a good shot.
03:10That is the first real genuine authentic shot.
03:14And he gets a boundary.
03:16And Kamidu Mendes is off the mark.
03:22Four.
03:23That's it with a lot of power.
03:25Gave himself room.
03:26Used the pace.
03:28And in the gap.
03:29And a boundary for Lahir Udara.
03:36That's a lovely strike.
03:38Absolutely brilliant from Udara.
03:40Using the pace.
03:41Giving himself room.
03:42Over ends with the boundary.
03:43Five done Sri Lanka.
03:4434 for two.
03:48Through the offside.
03:49That is wonderful timing.
03:51Ball comes on to the bat.
03:53All you got to do is place it and time it.
03:58Backs away over extra cover.
04:00That's a gorgeous shot.
04:01Went early and just placed it beautifully.
04:04It's a great cricket shot this.
04:09This time leg side.
04:11This time in the gap.
04:12One bounce.
04:13Boundary.
04:14Yeah.
04:15He's taking his chances.
04:16Attacking Shadab from the word goal.
04:21Or reverse sweep.
04:23And this time in the gap.
04:24Beautifully timed.
04:26And that will go to the fence.
04:27Raise the 50 partnership.
04:29Two.
04:29This has been good.
04:34Nice in the air.
04:35It is in the air for a long time.
04:37And very well done.
04:39He's rushed in as fucker.
04:41And kept his eye on the ball.
04:43All the way.
04:44He had to travel quite a long way.
04:46But in the end.
04:47It's a terrific catch.
04:48Saim Ayyub provides the breakthrough.
04:52Absolutely much needed one.
04:53Saim Ayyub comes in.
04:54And he picks up Kamindu.
04:56Trying to go big.
04:58But no timing.
05:00And Pekhar Zaman running in.
05:02And managing to hold on to this important catch.
05:05Pakistan were in need of a wicket.
05:08And Saim Ayyub just provides that.
05:10Kamindu Mendes.
05:1123 of 18 he got.
05:13It's a 78 for 3.
05:19Gone.
05:21Takes a catch.
05:22A bit of a stunner.
05:23And Imran Randhava has too.
05:25It's an inspiring spell from Randhava.
05:28He has exploited the conditions quite well with a new ball.
05:32And he was introduced with the older ball.
05:34Slightly older ball.
05:36And he has come good.
05:38Half-tracker.
05:39He wasn't able to time the ball.
05:42Or keep it away from the fielder.
05:45And now Pakistan once again on top.
05:48Excellent beginning in this series for Pakistan.
05:51Arachike gone.
05:52But only one.
05:53It's 83 for 4.
05:59A milestone comes for Lahiru Udara.
06:02A made in half century on T20 International Circuit.
06:07In his 5th appearance.
06:08And he gets an applause.
06:09And a much needed one as he holds things together.
06:12Here for Sri Lanka.
06:18Belts it through the offside.
06:20He's marching on.
06:21Some style Udara.
06:22Finishes the over with the boundary.
06:24He moves to 61.
06:26106 for 4.
06:29Whipped.
06:31And it's gone a long way.
06:34What a shot.
06:36From Udara.
06:41Lovely striking.
06:43This is brilliant batting from Lahiru Udara.
06:46Partnership 49 of 29.
06:48Sri Lanka Racing.
06:49132 for 4.
06:53Shanaka this time.
06:54Muscles it over the leg side.
06:56That has got it to the crowd.
06:58Well, that's what he could do.
07:00But in this innings.
07:02He was biding his time.
07:04His first real attacking shot for a while.
07:09Once he gets into the zone.
07:12He's very dangerous.
07:14But not today.
07:15Fakar Zaman with another catch.
07:17It was there to be hit.
07:19But Shanaka this time.
07:21Hit it flat.
07:22But not long enough.
07:26It was a poor delivery.
07:28In terms of the length.
07:30And Dasun Shanaka somehow found that fielder.
07:34Such an important wicket in the context.
07:37Yes, he's looking towards the heavens.
07:39Because Dasun Shanaka goes for 18 of 15.
07:42140 for 5.
07:46This time he gets it over short.
07:48Fine leg.
07:49And will run away to the boundary.
07:52That's the boundary Sri Lanka keeps looking for every over.
07:56And Lahir Udara now into the 80s.
08:01Bolzim tries to go fancy.
08:04But Nassim Shah right on target.
08:08This is a big wicket.
08:09This is really big.
08:11I say that because Velal again.
08:15Looking to play the scoop.
08:16But then look at Nassim Shah.
08:18Bullseye.
08:19Wicket to wicket.
08:21Going full.
08:22And pays on.
08:24No chance for Dunitwe Lala again.
08:27Out for 5.
08:28167 for 6.
08:32Dara backs away.
08:33And just gently.
08:35Goes over the top of third.
08:37And gets to the fence.
08:38For a boundary.
08:42Gets hold down the ground.
08:45But straight to the field.
08:46Hasan Nawaz with a comfortable catch.
08:49Nassim Shah gets another.
08:51At the end of a wonderful innings.
08:55And Pakistan will just feel relief.
08:59As this one goes down to long on.
09:02Well this will be the difference.
09:04Of Sri Lanka getting to 185.
09:06Or finishing less than that.
09:08Udara out for 91.
09:10172 for 7.
09:15Slow one into the pitch.
09:17And he'll just.
09:18He gobbled up by Razahullah.
09:20He gets his first.
09:22T20 high wicket.
09:24See this is what I was talking about.
09:27Unfortunately.
09:28Theikshana had the right idea.
09:30But never the right execution.
09:33Into the pitch.
09:34But a lot of bounce.
09:36Pace off.
09:38And a simple catch.
09:39Sri Lanka lose another wicket.
09:41Out for 1.
09:42172 for 8.
09:44We are left with 5 more deliveries in the innings.
09:49Bottom of the bat.
09:51And just gets it over.
09:53Mid off and goes to the fence.
09:55Sarzada Farhan was running back.
09:56But a boundary.
09:59Fastball of the innings.
10:00181 for 8.
10:01How many can Malinga get?
10:04Razahullah.
10:05Almost the perfect yorker.
10:07The throw at the stumps.
10:09Just a single.
10:11In that very last delivery.
10:13So at the end of the 20th.
10:15It's 182 for 8.
10:18That Sri Lanka get.
10:22Well, the Sri Lankan card.
10:23Just three batters into double figures.
10:26And plenty of support from extras.
10:2829.
10:29But Lahir Oudhar, a 91 of 55.
10:33Outstanding hand.
10:34But I felt that he was dismissed at a very critical time.
10:37And had he been around, who knows?
10:39Sri Lanka would have been looking at 190+.
10:41But still, a good score.
10:43182 for 8.
10:45Pakistan with the ball.
10:46Wickets for Nassim Shah.
10:473 for 36.
10:48Couple of wickets for Imran Randhava.
10:51Who bowled well.
10:512 for 21.
10:53Razahullah with the wicket.
10:54Shahdam and Saim got a wicket as well.
10:56It was the fast bowlers.
10:57But actually produced the goods tonight.
11:00182 for 8.
11:01Pakistan will lead 183 in their 20 overs.
11:05And the chase will follow.
11:09Oh, what a start.
11:11What an absolute ripper.
11:15He slashes and that finds the fence up and over the slipcord.
11:22The charge, the slice.
11:24And the edge flies to the boundary.
11:27Fakhar off the mark with the boundary.
11:31Chipped and should be 4.
11:35Through the offside.
11:37A blistering stroke.
11:38Makes the way to the fence again.
11:44Belgetrade passed.
11:46Looking for that block hole.
11:48Clears the front leg for Rahan.
11:49And dispatches it to the boundary.
11:53That is better.
11:55That is classy.
11:56And that is all the way for 6.
11:59A big 6.
12:05That is a clean hit again.
12:12In the slot.
12:17Lovely strike.
12:19Through the offside.
12:20Crunched away for 4 to close 5.
12:24Huge appeal.
12:25And yes.
12:26Nicked off.
12:26Outside offstump.
12:27Extra bounce.
12:31Once again.
12:33Showing you the extra bounce.
12:36Oh beautiful.
12:39First one in the slot.
12:40And that disappears.
12:42Out of the ground.
12:43Just have a look at this.
12:44Eyes fixed on the impact.
12:48And again.
12:49And that will disappear too.
12:52Another big hit.
12:53Another maximum.
12:59Short ball.
13:00And that has raced away to the fence.
13:03This time offside.
13:04For one after the power play.
13:08Shot.
13:09And smashed away.
13:11Drilled through the offside.
13:12And reaches the fence in no time.
13:16As the poor delivery down the leg side.
13:19Helped on its way.
13:20Almost carries all the way.
13:23That was an absolute free hit.
13:27This time he launches it.
13:30And launches it far and wide.
13:33Saib Zadha Paran.
13:34Delivers the massive 6.
13:379 overs done.
13:38It is 94 for 1.
13:42Yeah.
13:43Short.
13:44And he has just pounced on that.
13:48Into the onside.
13:50He is racing.
13:51Trying to get back for the second.
13:53But no.
13:55On 49.
13:55He wants his first.
14:00Struck one.
14:02Struck twice.
14:03And this time a third one from Mars Adakad.
14:07With nothing off the surface.
14:10No grip.
14:11Nothing.
14:12Captain on 49.
14:16A wonderful moment for him to cherish.
14:20Debut match as captain for Saib Zadha Farhan.
14:23And he brings up his 11th T20 international half century.
14:27And what a healthy rate of striking.
14:31151.
14:32151.52 of just 33 balls.
14:35Led from the front.
14:38Took on the Sri Lankan bowling.
14:40Just pounced on those wrong lengths.
14:45Because he understands.
14:47But let's talk about this half century first.
14:50Of just 28 balls.
14:51Mars.
14:52His first.
14:53And what an innings.
14:54Some magnificent shots.
14:58Full of promise.
15:00And a bright future awaits for Mars Adakad.
15:03Applause from the dressing room and the dugout.
15:07And the crowd as well.
15:13And belted.
15:15But once again should have been stopped.
15:19Well.
15:20We got to wait for it.
15:22Because away she sails into the fence.
15:24And away she goes for six.
15:27And look at this.
15:30He gets it.
15:33See the first question would be.
15:35Now this is four.
15:37Well I think.
15:39I mean that's out of curiosity.
15:42Pumped.
15:45Boundaries are reigning here.
15:48Oh.
15:49Straight straight enough.
15:50Yes the finger goes up.
15:52So at the moment.
15:54Out.
15:55They just need six runs and over.
15:57This is Dixoner.
15:58Finally.
15:59From slightly wide of the crease.
16:00Angling back.
16:02Going with the arm.
16:03Hitting the back leg.
16:05And yes.
16:11The umpire like said.
16:13The bowlers asked for it.
16:14There was a faint tickle.
16:15And a short lift stay for Hassan Nawaz.
16:18Just going down the leg side.
16:20Fine tickle.
16:21Very good catch.
16:22Two handed.
16:25Excellent wicket keepers catch.
16:35Near but not near enough.
16:38Pull him.
16:40Ball just coming back in.
16:42Saima you played back.
16:43Who was leg before wicket.
16:46But this time around.
16:48He was beaten comprehensively.
16:52Short and pumped over extra cover.
16:55And a couple of bounces into the fence.
17:01Full pitch and hit into the leg side.
17:04Races away to the fence.
17:05He was the only bowler initially who was troubling Saabzada Farhan.
17:12Short and again.
17:14He's thumped that over extra cover.
17:17Almost carries all the way.
17:20This is an amazing stroke.
17:25Thoroughly enjoyed it.
17:27Not a lot of pace was offered by the baller.
17:31But look at the back swing.
17:34It was so fast.
17:36Hence the ball.
17:39Kept going.
17:41Looks like third boundary of the over.
17:44He'll be checked.
17:49Oh went all the way.
17:51Bondridge six.
17:53Bondridge six.
17:53It's a six.
17:55Amazing stroke.
18:00Full toss.
18:02Hit over leg side.
18:03Oh what a catch that is.
18:06Anti-climatic.
18:08But diving forward full length.
18:10Takes a fabulous catch.
18:12To dismiss Saabzada Farhan.
18:15Who's played a fabulous innings.
18:17Yeah indeed.
18:19Fabulous innings.
18:20Captain Snork.
18:23He would have loved to take his side over the line with that stroke.
18:28But Arachige came in the way.
18:31What a catch that was.
18:32Never easy for a fielder.
18:34To dive in front.
18:38Short ball.
18:39It's edge.
18:40It's hanging in the air.
18:41And taken.
18:44Another wicket.
18:45Falls.
18:46Shadab Khan trying to hit this out of the park.
18:53They tried to hit the ball.
18:56In the wrong direction.
18:59In the air.
19:01And that's it.
19:03Finish the game.
19:04In a grand style.
19:06Khwaja Nafi.
19:08Taunt it for a six.
19:10And that is a comprehensive win for Pakistan.
19:17So Sri Lanka won the toss.
19:18Back at first.
19:19Got to 182 for 8.
19:21Courtesy Udara.
19:2391 of 55.
19:25Nassim Shah.
19:263 for 36.
19:27Imran Randhawa.
19:28Good with the new ball.
19:292 for 21.
19:31Pakistan chasing it down in 18.5.
19:33Farhan 89 and mask 9.
19:39So that means Pakistan lead the three matches 1-0 up.
19:44And after the break, we'll come back with the post-match ceremony.
19:50And after the break, we'll come back with the post-match ceremony.
