00:00Hi Michael, it's been a long three weeks before we get to the elephant in the room.
00:05Can I just ask about the team, you've had so many injuries to deal with,
00:09players following up into that team, who's going to be unavailable, who's going to be available?
00:14Yeah, it's been a long time since we sat here last.
00:21Yeah, a little bit mixed really through the internationals.
00:26Patrick came off and it looks like he'd be out for probably a number of weeks.
00:31Noose came off and took a knock.
00:36He's not quite right yet, so we'll have to see how he is.
00:43Carlos is improving, he's trained a lot, he's improving.
00:50Amad's done a little bit of training, Marcus has done a little bit of training,
00:53Cobby's done a little bit of training, so a little bit of a mixed really, between the group.
00:59Ben's a little bit further away with the issue he's got, so he won't be ready.
01:06Obviously the Man City verdict came in during the international break.
01:11What's your take on it?
01:16Very difficult to say in many ways.
01:19I think there's obviously thrown up a lot of questions, some have had answers, some haven't.
01:26I think as it's still ongoing and we don't know how long it's going to go,
01:30I think there's only so much I can say.
01:34But certainly I've got my own questions about it, it's affected me personally in different ways over a period of
01:41time.
01:42But as the case is going now, I don't know where that stands and how it's going to end up.
01:48So we'll just have to wait and see.
01:49What I will say, the sooner it gets sorted, I think for everyone's benefit, is essential.
01:57Michael, you talk about how it's impacted you a little bit.
02:00I mean, we spoke before the derby about key moments to maybe shape the rivalry as it is now.
02:05Aguero is a winner, company is a winner at the ETI.
02:07How do you reflect on those moments now?
02:12I think when you're in sports, certainly in football, I think the strive to win and the emotion,
02:19the feeling about winning is a lot of it is in the moment.
02:25Whether you're successful, whether you lose, whether it goes against you,
02:28I think that initial, the beauty of sport and the beauty of football and the beauty of trying to win
02:32trophies
02:33here is a little bit on the journey towards it.
02:37And then the finale, you know, and does it go for you, does it go against you?
02:42Once that's done, there's no getting that back in any direction.
02:50And that's the feeling we all crave is coming out on top.
02:57That kind of sums it up, you know, whatever's done in the past, then it's done in the past.
03:00But in that moment is how you feel in that moment.
03:04Certainly as a participant, as a performer, and I'm sure the supporters feel the same.
03:10That's why we love it so much, because of the emotion in the moment.
03:13Can I also just ask you how important do you think it is to get a solution to this as
03:17soon as possible?
03:18Because the ramifications of what it could have for the league, not knowing maybe what potential punishment could look like
03:24in terms of where teams finish, the impact on Europe, the title.
03:27I mean, how keen are the club wanting to see that happen?
03:31Yeah, speed's essential, as I just said.
03:33I think that's pretty obvious for me to sit here and say that.
03:37There's so many angles to look at from so many different perspectives,
03:43but really speed's essential for everyone to be clear, to be able to deal with it, to be able to
03:48move on,
03:48whatever happens.
03:49I think it's some president, you know, it's a unique situation to be in this at this level
03:54with such a huge impact in so many ways.
03:58So we all need to know what's going to happen, really.
04:03I think that's pretty clear.
04:04Michael, the Premier League used the word sham in their written reasons a number of times.
04:11I asked you a few months ago about how you felt that day at Sunderland.
04:16It's an iconic Premier League moment.
04:19As someone who was involved, how would you feel, how would you feel,
04:24if that is proved to have been built on nothing,
04:29because the players that you're playing against shouldn't have been at that football club?
04:33If you come back to what I said, really,
04:35I think it doesn't change how you feel in the moment, whatever way.
04:40You can't take that back, so whatever way this goes,
04:45which I don't know when I...
04:47I don't really want to speak too much about what way it goes,
04:51but all I can say is in the moment you can't take it back,
04:55so whether we did end up, I don't even know what's going to happen,
04:59but if we did end up at some point, something along the lines of if something changes,
05:04it doesn't change the emotion of that moment.
05:07Can't get that back, won't get it back.
05:10That's part of the competing,
05:11and why there's so many questions to be answered at this point,
05:17that's not a question, that was a moment in time
05:19that we have got to accept and never get back.
05:24Do you think you should get titles realigned?
05:28I know there's an appeal,
05:30but at the moment the Premier League have delivered their verdict,
05:34and there's been a lot of conversation,
05:36Manchester United, you as a player, as a coach,
05:39have been affected and lost come second to a team that's broken the rules.
05:45Do you think that those trophies should be reassigned?
05:52I think at the moment it's still not finalised.
05:59I think I'll hold that one until later on.
06:02I think regardless of anything, a medal anyway.
06:05In any sport in history, I think later on you get the medal
06:08and it's pre-improved at different times.
06:11It's the moment that you strive for, to win and achieve in that moment.
06:15So a medal here or there, not getting blasé about it,
06:19but that doesn't bring the feeling of whether you initially win
06:24or you don't win.
06:25That's essentially what we're all in it for.
06:28Richard, turning our attention to this weekend, Michael, and Spurs.
06:32First of all, what are your thoughts on Spurs?
06:34Are you surprised by their slow start under De Zerbe?
06:37What's your assessment?
06:40Yeah, points-wise, I think they've played a lot better than that at times.
06:46When you look at the games, they're a very good team
06:49with some very good players, obviously.
06:52Assembled a squad this summer that's a little bit different
06:56to maybe what they've had.
06:58But they're a good team just because of the points,
07:01I understand the question.
07:03But we're not going into expecting anything less than their best version
07:09of what we know, what they're capable of.
07:10And actually they have shown for a large part,
07:12but probably haven't had the results that maybe the performances deserve.
07:15Is it potentially a trap game for you?
07:17How do you approach this against a team that you would assume
07:20is going to be 100-10 things, right?
07:21Is it or what?
07:22It's potentially a trap game for you in terms of the expectation
07:24on Manchester United, the poor start Tottenham have made.
07:27How do you approach it?
07:28Just another game.
