00:30Your marriage certificate was never filed officially. It has no legal effect.
00:34Then she turned the screen toward me.
00:36Under Roland's legal spouse, I saw Laura Bennett, his brother's widow.
00:44The marriage certificate I gave you was never officially registered.
00:47Laura is my legal wife.
00:49After my brother died, she was left alone with Noah.
00:53She'd always dreamed of Paris. Someone had to look after her.
00:57I married her so they both won't have to suffer.
01:00But you're different. You've always been independent. Strong.
01:03You've waited ten years. You're used to it.
01:07Wait a few more. Once Noah grows up, I'll divorce Laura.
01:10Then we can make it legal.
01:14I didn't get mad.
01:16I answered calm.
01:20Don't bother. I don't do married men.
01:28Call the research program in Paris. Take Roland off as director.
01:32Cancel his card.
01:37Ten years ago, Roland lost the research spot that would have sent him to Paris.
01:41I couldn't watch him fall apart.
01:42So I secretly built a research program in Paris for him.
01:46I called a top university in Paris.
01:48I put in ten million dollars.
01:51We launched a cybercurity research program.
01:54I put Roland in charge.
01:56Roland stayed in Paris for research.
01:58My work was in the U.S.
01:59For ten years, I flew back and forth between the U.S. and Paris.
02:03Just to keep our marriage alive.
02:05I was drained.
02:05Every time we needed a joint account, insurance, or shared assets, I gathered every document.
02:11I checked every detail.
02:12Every time, the verification failed.
02:14These systems mess up all the time.
02:16Our paperwork was unusual back then.
02:19No wonder they can't find it.
02:20Don't overthink it.
02:21Paper or no paper, we're still family.
02:25I even asked Laura once why she packed up everything and moved to Paris with Naya out of nowhere.
02:30I guess I'm just lucky.
02:31I wanted to hear what else he had to say.
02:33I picked up.
02:34Laura found out you called.
02:35Now she wants to take Noah and leave Paris.
02:37They've both been crying.
02:38I'm going nowhere.
02:40This is my home.
02:41Make her go leave.
02:42I hate her.
02:43Evelyn, don't blame Roland.
02:45This is all my fault.
02:47Then Roland softened his voice for Noah and Laura.
02:50Don't worry.
02:51I'm here.
02:53You and Noah aren't going anywhere.
02:56Evelyn owes you both an apology.
02:58I'll make sure she gives you one.
03:01Evelyn, apologize to them.
03:09A fake marriage.
03:11A lying man.
03:14They can both go to hell.
03:18I hadn't gone far when Roland's car pulled up right in front of me.
03:22Come on, don't be mad.
03:23Laura's been through enough.
03:25You've always been strong.
03:26Can't you cut her some slack?
03:27I came all the way to pick you up.
03:29Get in.
03:29I didn't want to argue.
03:31I walked to the passenger door, opened it.
03:33Sorry, Evelyn.
03:34Roland, I don't feel well today.
03:36I took the front seat.
03:37Lauria was sitting there.
03:38She raised an eyebrow, gave me a smug look.
03:40You can sit in the back.
03:41Roland watched me, nervous.
03:43He opened his mouth like he was about to defend Laura.
03:45In the past, I never let Laura sit beside him like she belonged here.
03:49But today, I said nothing.
03:51Just got in the back.
03:52In Paris rush hour, getting a cab was a nightmare.
03:55Roland came to get me.
03:56Fine.
03:57I'd take the free ride.
03:58Roland looked surprised by how calm I was.
04:01He turned around like he wanted to say something.
04:03Ro, the car's behind her honking.
04:04Let's go.
04:08I kept my eyes closed until the car stopped.
04:13I opened my eyes.
04:15We were outside a three-star Michelin restaurant.
04:21Laura knows you're upset about the marriage.
04:23She wanted to take you to dinner and say sorry.
04:25No, thanks.
04:25I'm going home.
04:27Come on.
04:27Laura and I will explain everything over dinner.
04:32I sat there, blank face.
04:34Watched the three of them act like I wasn't even there.
04:37Lauria handed Roland her steak.
04:39He cut it for her.
04:41Then Noah fussed until Roland fed him.
04:44Just say it.
04:45Let me open another bottle first.
04:59Honey, I'll take Noah to the restroom.
05:01Clean him up.
05:01Wait here for me.
05:04Laura gave me a smug look.
05:06Left with Roland.
05:10An hour later, they never came back.
05:12The manager did.
05:14Miss, we're closing.
05:15Could you please settle the bill?
05:17It's 50,000 euros.
05:24I froze.
05:26The next second, a message from Roland popped up on my phone.
05:30Keep picking on Laura and Noah, making them miserable, just because you know I spill you.
05:35I locked your card.
05:36You're in Paris with no money.
05:38Time you learned a lesson.
05:42Miss, we need you to pay now.
05:45If you can't afford it, don't eat at our place.
05:48Let's be real.
05:49She just wanted a free meal.
05:52Apologize to Laura.
05:53Promise you'll never bring up the marriage again.
05:56Stop upsetting her.
05:57Otherwise, you can stay there and deal with the bill yourself.
06:02Call your owner.
06:03Tell him Evelyn is here.
06:11Roland really thought I was nothing without him.
06:14He never knew I'd inherited my family fortune years ago.
06:17I own businesses around the world.
06:22I just never told him.
06:25My parents left one rule in their will.
06:27I had to hide my identity and wealth before marriage.
06:31If my partner ever found out who I was, my assets would be locked.
06:35I'd only get a fixed amount each month.
06:38I knew why.
06:41They feared someone would marry me for my money.
06:52I used to think Roland was different.
07:00Evelyn, I'll make it in Paris.
07:02Once I'm settled, I'll bring you over.
07:04We'll finally live together.
07:05I never cared how successful he got.
07:07I just didn't want to see my husband only a few times a year.
07:11Turns out, I was never the one Roland wanted a future with.
07:18No wonder I always found things that weren't mine in the apartment.
07:22Every time I came to Paris.
07:25No wonder Roland always packed my bags after I'd only been a few days.
07:28Pushed me to leave early.
07:38While I was gone, Laura was living in the home I built.
07:41Acted like it was always hers.
07:44Miss Evelyn, I didn't know you were coming.
07:49Miss Evelyn owns the biggest steak in our restaurant.
07:52Forget the bill.
07:53No.
07:54Keep the footage.
07:56They walked out on the bill on purpose.
07:58Handle it by the book.
08:00Call the cops if you have to.
08:01Get every cent back.
08:03Roland, you always thought you were in control.
08:06But you forgot one thing.
08:08Everything you have came from me.
08:10Now that my love is gone,
08:12I'm taking it all back.
08:19I came home.
08:21Opened the door.
08:22There they were.
08:24Looking like a real family.
08:26Noah sat in Roland's lap,
08:28begging him for another story.
08:30Laura sat beside him,
08:31feeding Roland grapes.
08:33Her fingers brushed his lips.
08:35But one thing caught my eye.
08:37Laura was wearing the same loungewear as Roland.
08:40I'd bought us matching pajamas once,
08:42hoping he'd wear them with me.
08:44Evelyn, that's childish.
08:46Matching outfits are for younger couples.
08:49The next year, I came back to Paris.
08:51The set was gone.
08:53I always thought Roland had thrown it away.
08:55Turns out, he didn't.
08:57He gave it to another woman.
09:01Laura jumped behind Roland,
09:03gripped his shoulders.
09:04Noah buried his face in Roland's chest.
09:07Roland froze for a second.
09:08Then his face changed.
09:11You...
09:12What are you back?
09:16This is my home.
09:18What's wrong with me coming back?
09:22Roland had nothing to say.
09:25Before he could speak,
09:27Noah broke free,
09:28charged straight at me.
09:30I stumbled back.
09:32My lower back slammed into the table edge.
09:35I dropped to the floor in pain.
09:38Always you!
09:39Every time you come,
09:41Mom and I have to leave!
09:43This is our home!
09:45Get out!
09:46I don't want you here!
09:48Hey, dead man.
09:49Roland pulled Noah back to him.
09:50He didn't blame Noah at all.
09:52Evelyn,
09:53just a kid.
09:54Let it go.
09:56I gritted my teeth,
09:58pushed myself up at the sofa.
10:00Fine.
10:02I won't take it out on the kid.
10:05Kids learn this from the adults around them.
10:10Laura,
10:11taking this one for him.
10:15Don't hit my ball!
10:19He'd slapped me.
10:21I hit the floor hard.
10:22My ears rang.
10:24Roland put nearly all his strength into that slap.
10:27The taste of blood filled my mouth.
10:29You were really going to hit her?
10:31Evelyn,
10:32have you lost your mind?
10:33Then something hit him.
10:34Dinner was 50,000 euros.
10:36I locked your card,
10:37so how did you pay?
10:38I tried to get up.
10:39Before I could speak,
10:40Laura moved closer to Roland,
10:42her eyes red,
10:43looking fragile and shaken.
10:44Evelyn,
10:45I know you're angry,
10:46but you can't do something like that
10:48over 50,000 euros.
10:50That manager was awfully nice to you,
10:52smiling like that.
10:54You didn't promise him something,
10:56did you?
10:57Evelyn,
10:58you actually slept with that manager
11:00for 50,000 euros?
11:0350,000 euros was enough
11:04to get you into another man's bed.
11:06Evelyn,
11:07I never knew you were that cheap.
11:09Fine!
11:10You want this over?
11:11It's over!
11:13But don't get it wrong.
11:15You're not leaving me.
11:18I'm done with you.
11:20You were never legally married anyway!
11:22Now get the hell out!
11:27I wiped the blood from my mouth
11:29and forced myself back onto my feet.
11:34Roland,
11:35I bought this house.
11:37You're the ones who should leave.
11:42Evelyn,
11:43I know you paid for this place,
11:44but you were rarely in Paris.
11:46The house was always in Roland's name.
11:48Now he's transferred it to me.
11:50Sorry,
11:51but you have to leave.
11:53I snapped my eyes toward Roland.
11:56You transferred this house to Laura.
12:00Roland didn't want Noah and me
12:01to feel like guests,
12:03so he gave me the house.
12:05He said this way,
12:06we'd finally have a home of our own.
12:07Even after everything,
12:09it still hurt.
12:10This was the home
12:11I dreamed of sharing with you.
12:12I bought it for the life
12:14we were supposed to have in Paris.
12:16We even closed on it
12:17on our anniversary.
12:18I only put the house
12:19in Roland's name
12:20because I wasn't in Paris much.
12:21How dare he?
12:23The house belongs to Laura now.
12:25Nothing you say will change that.
12:27I stared at them for a long moment,
12:29then let out a quiet laugh.
12:32Bring a few people over.
12:39Evelyn, play what out?
12:41You can't even use your own card.
12:42Who are you calling?
12:45Evelyn, I know this is hard to accept,
12:48but this is how things are now.
12:52Roland knows Noah and I
12:54already lost one home.
12:55He didn't want us living here
12:57like guests forever.
12:58So he gave me the house.
13:01Now this is finally our home.
13:07Laura, what is going on?
13:09I could hear shouting from next door.
13:11It's nothing.
13:11She's a friend visiting from the States.
13:14She's very upset
13:15and refuses to leave our home.
13:21Young lady,
13:23you've clearly upset this whole family.
13:25Why are you still here?
13:31This is their home.
13:32If you have any dignity,
13:33you'll leave on your own.
13:35You heard her.
13:37Evelyn,
13:37just leave.
13:43I stood there.
13:44Didn't move.
13:45Roland looked at me
13:46like he was sure
13:47I'd finally give in.
13:48He let out a mocking laugh.
13:49What?
13:50Now you want to apologize.
13:51Too late.
13:52Climbed into another man's bed
13:53for money.
13:53A woman who will sleep with anyone.
13:55disgusting.
13:56I didn't respond.
13:57I just spoke calm.
13:58This house cost 8.4 million euros.
14:00I put in 6.4 million.
14:02You put in two.
14:03Roland,
14:04transfer the house back to me.
14:06I'll give you every cent
14:07of your 2 million back.
14:11Ro,
14:11just let it go.
14:12If Evelyn wants this house
14:14that badly,
14:14Noah and I can leave.
14:16We're used to not having
14:17a home anyway.
14:20Enough, Laura.
14:21You and Noah
14:22aren't going anywhere.
14:24Evelyn,
14:25where are you getting
14:262 million euros?
14:27You practically emptied
14:28your savings
14:29just to come up with
14:30that 6.4 million back then.
14:32Now you are telling me
14:33you can just pull
14:332 million out of thin air.
14:36You'll get your money.
14:37I only want the house back.
14:40You both move out.
14:49Evelyn,
14:49do you even realize
14:50what you're up against?
14:51You can't even use
14:53your own card
14:53and you're standing here
14:54talking about
14:552 million euros?
14:56Ro,
14:57don't get angry.
14:57Maybe Evelyn
14:58just hasn't accepted it yet.
15:00She's been acting crazy tonight.
15:01Don't push her further.
15:03You're right.
15:08It's Roland.
15:09I need you to handle
15:09someone for me.
15:10She's using fake marriage papers
15:12to claim she's my legal wife.
15:13Now she's trying
15:14to take my property.
15:16I have all the proof.
15:17Send someone over now.
15:19I want her out.
15:21Roland hung up.
15:23Looked at me like
15:24I was the one
15:24who let him down.
15:26Evelyn,
15:27none of this had to go
15:27this far.
15:29All you had to do
15:29was apologize.
15:31Everything could have
15:31gone back to normal.
15:32I already explained it.
15:35Once Noah grows up
15:36and Laura is settled,
15:37I'll handle all of this.
15:40You've waited 10 years.
15:42What's a few more?
15:43Why did you have
15:43to make this a war?
15:44Get on your knees
15:45and apologize to Laura.
15:47Admit you were wrong
15:48and I'll call them off
15:49right now.
15:50Otherwise,
15:51when they get here,
15:52you'll regret it
15:53from a jail cell.
16:00I let out a cold laugh,
16:01but all I felt
16:02was grief.
16:0410 years of my life
16:05wasted on a man
16:07like this.
16:09Roland's chest
16:09rose and fell.
16:11He took a breath
16:12and spoke.
16:13If you promise
16:14to never bring up
16:14Laura and me again,
16:16I can tell them
16:16this was all
16:17a misunderstanding.
16:18He stepped closer,
16:19reached for my wrist.
16:21I know you miss me.
16:23I promise I'll come back
16:24to the US
16:25whenever I can.
16:26We can go back
16:27to how things were.
16:28Laura's face changed
16:29for a split second.
16:30Hatred flashed
16:31in her eyes,
16:32then vanished
16:33just as fast.
16:34When she looked
16:35at me again,
16:36her voice was still sweet,
16:38but her stare
16:39was ice cold.
16:40Evelyn,
16:40don't make this harder
16:41than it has to be.
16:42You're using fake
16:43marriage papers
16:44to claim to be
16:44Roland's wife,
16:45and you damaged
16:46the front door.
16:47If they take you away,
16:48you could end up in jail,
16:50owing a fortune.
16:51She tucked a strand
16:52of hair behind her ear,
16:54pretended to sound concerned.
16:56You may have found
16:57another way
16:57to pay that restaurant bill
16:59just by sleeping
17:00with a man,
17:01but prison,
17:03that's a little harder
17:04to sleep your way out of.
17:08The second she finished,
17:10heavy footsteps
17:10echoed down the hall.
17:12Roland's face darkened,
17:15threat in his voice.
17:16Evelyn,
17:17this is your last chance.
17:19Do what I asked,
17:20and I'll send them away.
17:22Otherwise,
17:22I'll stand right here
17:24and watch them take you.
17:26I stayed perfectly calm.
17:28A clothed smile
17:29tugged at my lips.
17:30I yanked my wrist,
17:31then I turned,
17:33walked straight to the door.
17:36Several tall men
17:38in black suits
17:38stepped inside.
17:40Roland clearly thought
17:41they were here for him.
17:45He looked at me
17:46one last time,
17:48like he'd finally
17:49made up his mind.
17:53That's her.
17:54Take her away.
18:01Miss Evelyn,
18:02sorry we're late.
18:05Roland and Laura's faces
18:07changed right away.
18:09You know her?
18:11Get all three of them out.
18:14Evelyn,
18:14are you insane?
18:16You...
18:16I didn't let her finish.
18:20Let go of me!
18:21This is my home!
18:23I walked up to Laura,
18:25finally gave her
18:26the slap she deserved.
18:27Roland opened his mouth
18:28to speak.
18:29I slapped him too.
18:31That one's for hitting me.
18:33For the first time
18:34in ten years,
18:34I could breathe again.
18:40Two million euros.
18:42Every cent you put
18:42into this house.
18:43Now transfer the house
18:44back to me.
18:45And everything in here
18:46that I paid for.
18:46Clear it all out.
18:48I don't want anything
18:49they've touched.
18:50If it can be smashed,
18:51smash it.
18:58Evelyn,
18:59you've lost your mind!
19:00I run a major
19:01secure skirt research
19:02program in Paris.
19:03You think you can do this
19:03and just walk away?
19:09This time,
19:11the people Roland
19:12had actually called
19:13showed up.
19:14Mr. White!
19:18It's me,
19:19Roland.
19:20Last month,
19:21you asked my team
19:21to upgrade the police
19:22department's
19:23cybersecurity systems.
19:25Remember,
19:26right?
19:27Roland,
19:28of course.
19:29That's her.
19:30She brought these people
19:31in here,
19:32had Laura and me
19:32restrained,
19:33deliberately destroyed
19:34property.
19:35She's also using
19:35fake marriage papers
19:36to claim she's my wife
19:37and take this house.
19:38Mr. White,
19:39have her and these people
19:40detained.
19:41Secure them.
19:45Take her.
19:46Suspected of assault,
19:47unlawed restraint
19:47and criminal damage.
19:49I didn't resist.
19:50Let them take me away.
19:51Calm.
19:56Roland stood in the doorway.
19:58A mixed look on his face.
20:00He held Laura against him,
20:01rubbed her back.
20:02Her legs nearly gave out.
20:04Evelyn,
20:04all I wanted was for you
20:05to back down
20:06and apologize.
20:07If you'd just agreed
20:08to drop the Laura thing,
20:09everything could have
20:10gone back to normal.
20:11He shook his head.
20:12But you wouldn't let it go.
20:14Had to push things this far.
20:15He paused.
20:16His face went cold.
20:17You brought this on yourself.
20:19Laura clung to him
20:19like she was scared,
20:20but I saw the satisfaction
20:21in her eyes.
20:22Bro,
20:23she's not actually
20:23going to prison,
20:24is she?
20:25This won't come back
20:26on us, right?
20:27No.
20:28Don't worry.
20:29She brought all these
20:30men here too.
20:31I think they're connected
20:32to that restaurant manager.
20:33He probably sent them
20:35to help Evelyn come after me.
20:36Mr. White,
20:37you need to look into this.
20:38That restaurant manager
20:39may be involved too.
20:40We'll investigate
20:41everyone involved.
20:42If anyone was involved
20:43in assault,
20:44unlawful restraint,
20:44or criminal damage,
20:46we'll handle it.
20:47Take them all in.
20:55The door's shut.
20:56The cop car
20:57finally pulled away.
20:58Through the Winko,
20:59I could still see Roland
21:00holding Laura close,
21:01comforting her.
21:02Noah peeked out
21:03from behind them,
21:04watched me leave.
21:04He didn't look scared,
21:06looked pleased.
21:08The car left
21:09the neighborhood.
21:11They disappeared
21:12from sight.
21:13I sat quiet
21:14in the back seat.
21:16Didn't say a word.
21:17Meanwhile,
21:18Roland was already
21:19comforting a shaken Laura.
21:21Ro,
21:22where are we supposed
21:23to live now?
21:24I don't want a hotel.
21:26I want our own home.
21:27Don't be scared.
21:29I'm here.
21:31If we can't stay here,
21:32I'll buy another place.
21:34Won't let you be homeless.
21:35But Paris property
21:36is so expensive.
21:38Come with me.
21:40I'll handle it.
21:43The next morning,
21:44Roland took Laura
21:45and Noah to a fancy
21:47neighborhood outside Paris.
21:48Roland didn't hesitate,
21:50took them straight
21:51into the sales office.
21:55Roland emptied nearly
21:57everything he could access,
21:58used the expense card
21:59he'd relied on for years,
22:00made a huge down payment.
22:02The new villa
22:03was bright and spacious.
22:04Big private lawn.
22:06Laura stood in the middle
22:07of the living room,
22:09stunned by what she saw.
22:11Ro,
22:11this is way too expensive.
22:13Roland took her hands.
22:15His voice was soft.
22:17You and Noah
22:18deserve the best.
22:20You've both sacrificed
22:21enough because of me.
22:23Noah ran through the house,
22:25excited.
22:26Mom,
22:26we have a huge yard.
22:27I can play hide and seek
22:28out there.
22:29Laura watched Noah,
22:31then turned to Roland,
22:33tears in her eyes.
22:35Ro,
22:36you've done so much for us.
22:38Roland pulled her
22:39into his arms,
22:40sounded almost guilty.
22:41I've owed you
22:41and Noah for years.
22:43From now on,
22:44I'll make it up
22:44to both of you.
22:45None of them
22:45noticed the camera.
22:47Capturing everything
22:48from far away.
22:54That afternoon,
22:55news broke.
22:56Roland spent millions
22:57on a new home
22:58for his wife.
22:59Shot straight to the top
23:00of trending.
23:01The comments blew up.
23:03Everyone called him
23:04the perfect husband
23:04and dad.
23:06Said Laura and Noah
23:07were lucky.
23:08Now that's a real man.
23:10His wife and kids
23:11went through hell.
23:12So he bought them
23:13a new home.
23:14Successful and devoted
23:15to his family,
23:16Laura hit the jackpot.
23:18But whenever my name
23:19came up,
23:20the tone changed.
23:21They called me
23:22a crazy stalker.
23:23Hired men to break
23:24into Roland's home
23:25and trash it.
23:26I heard the police
23:27already took her away.
23:28Good.
23:29A woman that crazy
23:30belongs in jail.
23:31One after another,
23:33they condemned
23:33what I'd supposedly done.
23:35Overnight,
23:36Roland became the biggest
23:37victim in the whole scandal.
23:39Once Roland saw
23:40the public was on his side,
23:42he pushed the story
23:43even further.
23:48He posted a family photo
23:50on social media.
23:51In the photo,
23:53Laura stood in the garden
23:53of their new home,
23:54smiling like she had everything.
23:56Noah sat on Roland's shoulders.
23:58Roland held him with one hand,
24:00wrapped the other around Laura.
24:01The caption was one sentence.
24:03Family will always be
24:04my greatest responsibility.
24:05The second the photo went up,
24:07the internet blew up again.
24:09Oh my god,
24:10now that's a good husband.
24:11After everything
24:12they've been through,
24:13he's still protecting
24:14his wife and kid.
24:15So touching.
24:16How could that crazy woman
24:17try to destroy
24:18such a beautiful family?
24:19Everyone got even more convinced
24:21I was the crazy woman
24:22trying to destroy a family.
24:23As far as they were concerned,
24:24I was done.
24:25Ro,
24:25you're all over the news today.
24:28Everyone's calling you
24:28the perfect husband and dad.
24:30Thank you.
24:31Thank you for giving Noah
24:31and me a home
24:32that's truly ours.
24:33Dad,
24:34does that mean we get to live
24:35in the new house forever?
24:36Yeah.
24:37From now on,
24:38that's your home.
24:39Ro,
24:40you've been so good to us.
24:43You and Noah
24:43have been through enough.
24:44From now on,
24:45I won't let anyone
24:46hurt either of you again.
25:00Dad,
25:01where's the food?
25:02I'm starving.
25:04Excuse me,
25:05how much longer for our food
25:07we've been waiting forever.
25:08My son's hungry.
25:10I'm sorry.
25:11One moment.
25:11I'll check with the kitchen.
25:15Several members of the restaurant group
25:17security team walked in.
25:19Right behind them
25:20was the manager from that night.
25:21The restaurant went quiet.
25:27Sir,
25:27the 50,000 euro bill
25:29from your last dinner
25:29is still unpaid.
25:30We'd like you to pay it now.
25:36The guy who just bought his wife
25:42that multi-million euro villa?
25:44He's that rich
25:44but can't pay
25:45a 50,000 euro dinner bill.
25:47The second he said it,
25:48whispers spread through the room.
25:52Roland's face changed right away.
25:54Minutes ago,
25:55everyone saw him
25:56as the perfect husband.
25:57Now the whole restaurant
25:59stared at him
25:59over an unpaid bill.
26:04Every stare felt like a needle
26:06digging into Roland.
26:07He jumped to his feet,
26:09humiliated and furious.
26:11Are you working with Evelyn?
26:12Did she send you here
26:14just to humiliate me
26:14in front of everyone?
26:17Then something hit him.
26:19He gave a bitter laugh.
26:22Evelyn was already
26:23taken away by the police.
26:25She's got her own problems.
26:26You really think
26:27she can still send people
26:28after me?
26:29The manager didn't even flinch.
26:32Sir,
26:33please pay the bill.
26:34This balance
26:35is already past due.
26:36If you keep refusing,
26:38we'll have to start
26:38formal collection.
26:39You'll also pay
26:40any legal fees
26:41and extra costs.
26:43So he really does
26:45owe them money?
26:46He just bought
26:46a multi-million euro house
26:47and can't come up
26:48with 50 grand?
26:52Roland pulled a card
26:53from his wallet.
26:54Handed it over.
26:57The manager entered
26:5950,000 euros.
27:00Handed him the terminal.
27:02The terminal beeped.
27:03A second later,
27:04one word flashed
27:05on the screen.
27:06Declined.
27:09Roland frowned.
27:11Figured something was wrong
27:12with the terminal.
27:13Run it again.
27:16The terminal beeped again.
27:18Declined again.
27:19His face finally
27:20started to change.
27:21He tried a second card
27:23right away.
27:24Same result.
27:25Declined.
27:27Roland's breathing sped up.
27:29Sweat beaded
27:29on his forehead.
27:31Refusing to believe it,
27:32he tried a third card.
27:34The screen showed
27:35the same result.
27:36Declined.
27:37Roland's hand froze
27:38in midair.
27:39His fingers started
27:40to shake.
27:41The color drained
27:42from his face.
27:43The smile slowly faded
27:45from Laura's face too.
27:46She gripped the edge
27:48of her dress.
27:49Stared at Roland.
27:50Said nothing.
27:51Is he actually broke?
27:53Didn't he just buy his wife
27:54a multi-million euro villa
27:55and now he can't even
27:56charge 50 grand?
27:57Guess that big spender
27:58from the headlines
27:58isn't so rich after all.
28:00Roland finally panicked.
28:02He grabbed his phone,
28:04called the bank.
28:05This is Roland.
28:06Why are all my cards declined?
28:07Check my accounts now
28:08and tell me
28:09what the hell is going on!
28:10is that big spender?
28:11pittler?
28:141, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 6, kidding.
28:14So you can be
28:14Say good to say
28:15get on dopo.
28:16So I wonder
