Olivia, a Franco-American writer, returns to her ancestral village in the south of France to write the story of her grandmother, who fled Paris during the Nazi invasion during World War II. There, she meets Madeline, a talented local artist, who quickly replaces her grandmother as the face of the novel. As a number of strange coincidences ensue, fiction and reality intermingle uncannily, and Olivia starts to ask whether she's part of history's unfolding story, or vice-versa.

00:09There's this woman that I've befriended in the village, and I don't know what happened, as soon as I met
00:13her, I couldn't help it. I've based my main character on her.
00:17I don't like to find the supermarket.
00:18Ah, no?
00:19No, you always have to pay.
00:22The cashiers seem to want to hang out.
00:24And I don't see why I'd have to tell a sign that a banana is a banana.
00:27I only knew my grandmother as an older woman, not as someone our age.
00:30Well, I wasn't love.
00:31What I wanted was to have my first kiss.
00:33Because with my friends, we always asked if you had to turn your tongue to the right or to the
00:37left.
00:37Now, I don't even see my grandmother when I'm thinking about the character.
00:40I just see her.
00:43It's delicious.
00:45What's that?
00:45A soup d'orci.
00:49There's a resemblance between what I'm writing and reality.

01:53Ah bah j'y pensais.
02:07Why did they put a b**** bell
02:09in the middle of all this tranquillity ?
