00:01A campaigner is calling for a memorial to Sir Ken Dodd in Naughty Ash, his livable home. His
00:06friend, comedian John Martin, wants a statue or signs welcoming visitors to the area. Sir Ken
00:12lived on Thomas Lane all his life and made Naughty Ash part of his comedy, including stories about
00:17the Diddy Men and their jam butty minds. Martin, who wrote material for him for more than 30 years,
00:22describes him as a comedy genius. Sir Ken died aged 90 in 2018. A petition for a tribute has gathered
00:30500 signatures. Martin says next year could be the opportunity to recognise his legacy.
00:36Local councillor Harry Doyle has said on social media that he fully supports the petition.
