00:04The dates for the Malacca elections have been officially announced.
00:07The Chairman of the Selected Works Association, Nanlan Harun, announced today...
00:10Nomination day is October 31st.
00:12Voting day falls on Saturday, November 14th.
00:15The election period lasts for 4 days.
00:17Early voting will take place on November 10th.
00:20Voter polls as of September 22nd show...
00:23There are over 687,000 eligible voters in Malacca.
00:27This is nearly 200,000 more than the 490,000 in 2021.
00:32The entire election is expected to cost 28.45 million euros.
00:37The date has been set.
00:38The biggest question on everyone's mind now is who the Barisan Nasional coalition will cooperate with.
00:42How to allocate a seat
00:44Malacca Chief Minister Abdul Rahu said at a press conference today
00:47Make the bottom line very clear
00:49The 21 seats won by Barisan Nasional in the last election
00:51Not a single seat can be missing.
00:53However, he also left a door open.
00:55It's a seat that can be exchanged.
00:58What is exchange?
01:00In short
01:01It means that the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition took back several territories that they had originally won.
01:04Give it to allies
01:05Then take back a few more constituencies from our allies.
01:08Add and subtract
01:09The total number must still be 21.
01:12He also quoted a Malay proverb.
01:16It means no matter how you change it.
01:18The quantities are all the same.
01:21So, who does the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition actually prefer to cooperate with?
01:24According to exclusive information uncovered by China Press
01:27Barisan Nasional's (BN) partner is very likely to be PAS (Pan-Malaysia).
01:30The news says...
01:31PAS aims to achieve its first victory in Malacca.
01:34He might accept the proposal to contest only four state assembly seats.
01:38That might seem strange to everyone.
01:39PAS is the leader of the National Alliance.
01:41How could they be content with only four seats?
01:43The key lies in the seven designated member quotas after the election.
01:48Nominated Members of Parliament (NMPs) means you don't need to be elected.
01:51You were directly appointed by the state government to the state legislature.
01:54This kind of state legislator
01:56What about before the Malacca Parliament was dissolved?
01:58The constitution was just amended
01:59The state government can appoint up to seven such state legislators.
02:03And these seven positions
02:05This has now become the most tempting bargaining chip in the negotiations between Barisan Nasional and PAS.
02:09You help me protect my kingdom.
02:11I was elected to separate the official positions in several counties.
02:14Sources estimate that if PAS contests four seats...
02:17They are likely to win two or three seats.
02:20In addition to this appointed member of parliament
02:23They hold a certain position in the state legislature.
02:26It is understood that PAS and Barisan Nasional held talks.
02:28It's not about abandoning the Red House Party and the Gerakan Party.
02:31Instead, he first secured a place in his own department.
02:34To secure quotas for nominated MPs for other member parties.
02:38What about this kind of cooperation?
02:40Barisan Nasional (BN) is called BN Plus.
02:43Simply put, it's either Barisan Nasional or Barisan Nasional.
02:46PAS or PAS
02:47No new alliance was formed.
02:50But in this election?
02:51Be a partner for now
02:53The use of force to unify has already shown...
02:55Cooperating with other political parties
02:56This was simply to meet the needs of the state election and the overall situation.
02:59There is no intention to let the other party join the Barisan Nasional coalition.
03:01Become an official member party
03:03The news is still going on
03:04Barisan Nasional and PAS actually took the general election as a premise.
03:07Let's talk about cooperation in the Malacca state election.
03:10In this choice
03:11There is exemption from party membership
