00:00I'm very proud. I got an honor a while ago, and Matthew came and was wonderful at the ceremony.
00:09He did a beautiful Dylan Thomas reading, you know, just to...
00:13I mean, look, it's a nation of... Dylan Thomas says we are a musical nation,
00:18but it's also a nation where, in a very small, confined community, acting is a real kind of passion for
00:27us.
00:28And you think of Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins, Stanley Baker, Matthew, Rhys Evans, Ruth.
00:36I mean, there's so many of us, and we're all very proud to be Welsh.
00:39And it's very rare that we get to use our accents, which I think is admirable in itself, you know.
00:49Martin Sheen, I forgot I meant to be Martin.
00:51But to be able to do Jackie, this particular character, in my own accent,
00:58just helped me with the character so much, because it grounded her, it grounded me into the character.
01:04And it allowed me to be freer with ad-libbing or to the rhythm of the way I speak, my
01:11body language,
01:13the way I, you know, the humor, the craziness.
01:20It contributed so much to me, and also, I think, to the show,
01:24because you need to have a crazy assassin who's with a history, you know, that she had.
01:33You need to be able to be... she has to be accessible, and you kind of have to root for
01:38her and like her.
01:39And I think people would like Jackie if they met her in the street.
01:43Sometimes there's... I know, I speak from my own experience.
01:46I've had way too much fun on a set, and it has knocked them on the street.
01:50You go, what happened there?
01:51But this genuinely did. It looks like we were having fun.
01:54And I have to say that Daniel brought so much to the piece.
01:58You know, a lot of the stuff that, you know, that really amps up the comedic part of it all
02:06came from Daniel, just throwing ideas in and coming up with ad-libs and stuff like that.
02:12So I think that just gives you the sense of the environment in which we were able to play, you
02:17know?
02:18We had a great director. We had a producer who looked after us.
02:22And with all those elements coming together, it makes for just a good, fun ride.
02:27I was a huge fan of Jaina Rowland, you know?
02:30She'd play characters that were flawed, you know, beautifully flawed and real.
02:37She wasn't, you know, a comedic actress in the sense, but she was...
02:43There was something about her that you didn't know whether to laugh with her or cry with her, you know?
02:48And I always kind of loved to insert those kind of characters.
02:51Once you ground a character and the audience are with you with that character,
02:55you can do crazy stuff and they'll come with you on the ride.
02:59Alright.
