00:00If you've ever tried laying down rich, buttery acrylics only to have your sketchbook pages
00:04warp into a taco, you know how frustrating it is. Today, we're looking at the top 5 acrylic
00:10sketchbooks for thick paint layers, and I've tracked down the best deals so you can pile
00:13on that texture without breaking the bank. First up is the 20K thick sketchbook,
00:19which has quietly become a favorite among art students with over 4,000 copies sold.
00:24The standout feature here is the sheer durability of its heavy blank paper,
00:27designed specifically to take wet media without buckling under heavy impasto strokes.
00:33Priced at just $10.63, it's an absolute steal if you want a reliable everyday book where you can
00:39experiment freely without stressing over cost. Next, we have the McAlan sketchbook,
00:44holding a glowing 4.8-star rating across thousands of artists.
00:48What makes this one special is the 80-sheet capacity paired with a flexible binding that
00:53lays flat, giving you plenty of surface area to work with palette knives and wet acrylics.
00:58At $11.21, it hits that sweet spot of high sheet count and solid paper resilience,
01:04making it well worth grabbing if you paint frequently on the go.
01:08For those looking for something a bit more premium, the Ohohu Hardcover Art Sketchbook
01:12comes in at our third spot for $21.44. Ohohu is famous for its paper quality,
01:18and this book features heavy, bleed-resistant pages tucked inside a sleek hardcover that keeps
01:23your finished pieces safe. It's worth the slightly higher investment because it handles layered
01:28acrylics, wash, and mixed media like a champ without wrinkling, giving your artwork an instant
01:33gallery-quality presentation. In the fourth spot is the Professional Coil-Bound Sketchbook,
01:38and at just $8.08, this is easily your best budget-friendly workhorse.
01:44The standout feature is definitely the sturdy spiral binding, which allows the book to lay completely
01:49flat so your thick layers of paint can dry evenly without sticking together. If you love quick
01:54acrylic studies, texture tests, or daily painting drills, the value you get here is pretty much
01:59unbeatable. Rounding out our list is the Arc's Premium Hardcover Sketchbook, rocking thick 180
02:06gsm acid-free paper for $13.91. That 180 gsm weight is the star of the show, offering the exact
02:14density
02:14and tooth you need to support heavy acrylic layers without bleeding through to the next page.
02:19Backed by a 4.8 star rating, it feels luxurious in the hand and is worth every penny if you
02:25want a
02:25sketchbook that truly feels like a keepsake. I've dropped the links to all 5 sketchbooks in the
