00:04Bollywood actress Rakulpreet Singh has broken her silence over reports linking her name to
00:10her recent income tax search, formally stating that she has no connection to the matter.
00:17The Yalia fame actress took to social media to shed light on a false and speculating report,
00:24stressing that she has no involvement in any illegal foreign remittances or proxy properties.
00:32She also clarified that she has been paying her taxes since the age of 20 and built her
00:40career through hard work. Rakul urged media to retract and clarify all the facts saying
00:48commercial pressure should not come at the cost of facts and an individual's reputation.
00:55Rakul shared a note that read,
00:58It's heartbreaking to see that there's a growing trend amongst the self-styled online reporters
01:05and some mainstream media journalists to censationalise the news without verifying facts.
01:13Let's therefore set the record straight once for all.
01:18The search was not pertaining to me. Let it be known that I am from the armed force background
01:26and had no godfather in the industry. I have come up through sheer hard work and as a responsible,
01:35law-abiding citizen, have been paying my due taxes since the age of 20 years. I am not involved in
01:43any
01:44kind of illegal foreign remittance in personal capacity or on behalf of any production house.
01:52I would also add here that I do not hold any Bimani property on behalf of anyone anywhere in the
02:01country or abroad. Neither anyone has ever gifted me any property at any time nor do I accept such
02:10expensive gifts as a principal. For the unworth, the clarification comes after the Mumbai Income
02:19Tax Department reportedly conducted searches at 12 locations over suspected financial irregularities
02:28and alleged overseas fund transfer linked to film financing. Reports also mentioned locations
02:37allegedly connected to Rakul, her father-in-law and filmmaker Vasu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios.
