00:02Good evening.
00:04You are on the back of a
00:08C2G.
00:11It's a dual format, C2G
00:15and you are on the back of a C2G.
00:22How do you see the
00:23challenge?
00:26I think we are in for a
00:28long time.
00:29For the spectators, it's going to be fantastic viewing.
00:32I think for both sides
00:35at the moment
00:36the red flag
00:38or the problem might be
00:40our guys travelling back
00:42after Asian Games.
00:45Some of the guys only arrived
00:46a couple of days ago.
00:48Jet lag.
00:50Getting over the journey.
00:52I think once we are up and running
00:54and we get the series going
00:56we are all looking forward to it.
01:01What is it?
01:04Obviously, the next season
01:05is going to be a long way.
01:08What exactly are you looking
01:11towards this series?
01:12What do you intend to know
01:14if everybody has a chance?
01:16How will the next match
01:17be able to come two years later?
01:21The main goal
01:22always will be to win
01:23games.
01:25I think this group of players
01:27have played some exceptional cricket
01:29the last couple of years.
01:32The guys who got opportunities
01:34came in and
01:35they have done a brilliant job.
01:37Yes, it will be great for Indian cricket
01:39if we keep on growing that pool.
01:42keep on giving guys
01:45that experience
01:46or the taste of what it is
01:48to play in an Indian shirt.
01:51Also, a nice opportunity
01:52for guys who were out of
01:54the loop for a while to come back.
01:56Mike Yadav is back from injury
01:58so I look forward to see how he goes
02:02when he gets an opportunity.
02:03So I think
02:05it is sort of
02:07looking at the bigger picture
02:08but also, you know, you want to
02:11win games for India.
02:12You want to give the guys
02:14the opportunity who has done well
02:16so far to continue that.
02:18We look forward to this series
02:20and we will take it as it comes.
02:21Good morning, Saish.
02:24We are talking about
02:25recent matches
02:25that Indian bolusas are going
02:27to run with the team
02:28forward and red
02:29and we have a team
02:31that's really hard-eating action
02:33and what is the planning bolusas
02:34of community match
02:34and what is the bowling sport?
02:37Yeah, look, I mean,
02:38I've literally just walked past
02:39the square now,
02:40haven't had a proper look
02:41at the wicket.
02:43We'll assess sort of
02:45the conditions as best
02:46as possible tonight.
02:48We understand
02:49that in this series
02:51it's going to be
02:52a high-scoring game.
02:54Your skills will be tested.
02:56Execution,
02:56most importantly,
02:57will be tested.
02:59In a short turnaround
03:00we'll try and plan
03:01as best as possible
03:03but I think
03:03the key would be
03:04for both teams
03:05is how we can read
03:06the conditions
03:07and how you can
03:08come up with
03:09the best plans
03:10in that moment
03:10and then, like I said,
03:11execution is going to be key.
03:14What is the level
03:15for India
03:15in the main plan
03:16for our best plan?
03:18Look,
03:19I mean,
03:20I don't think
03:20there is, you know,
03:22one sort of blueprint
03:24or thing
03:24we're going to go with.
03:27We'll come up
03:28with the best solution
03:29of how we think
03:30we're going to win games.
03:30If it's extra pace,
03:32if it's extra spin,
03:33you know,
03:34that is yet to determine
03:35but my sort of feel
03:37yeah,
03:38especially wide ball cricket,
03:40it's good wickets.
03:41So,
03:42yeah,
03:42I think you get tested
03:43on your execution.
03:45Hi,
03:46I'm
03:46Richard,
03:47very grateful, yeah.
03:48Now,
03:48you are one of the best people
03:50sitting to answer this
03:51following question.
03:52That is,
03:53about the development
03:54of Prince and Mayak.
03:56Both have tried to
03:57slightly different
03:59kind of bowlers.
04:00But what you really
04:01do you see from
04:02each of them
04:02considering
04:03you have Chester,
04:04Sombra,
04:04and Tisping also.
04:05So,
04:05what are the boxes
04:08that they are thinking
04:08that any other players
04:09may not get
04:10come from that?
04:11Yeah.
04:13I mean,
04:13if you look at Mayank,
04:16immediately,
04:16that comes to mind
04:17as his pace,
04:17as X Factor.
04:19I think,
04:19for me,
04:21you know,
04:21Prince,
04:23where,
04:23he was a net bowler
04:25a couple of years ago.
04:26He's now playing
04:26for India,
04:27that resilience,
04:29you know,
04:29that the hard work
04:30that he's put into
04:31his game
04:31to reach international stage
04:33is admiring.
04:35So,
04:35for me,
04:36that shows that
04:37these guys are
04:38hard working players.
04:39You know,
04:39Mayank had a couple
04:40of setbacks
04:41with injury,
04:42back to back,
04:43you know,
04:43setbacks for that,
04:44for a young player
04:45to get through that.
04:46And then,
04:47again,
04:47you know,
04:48find themselves,
04:49you know,
04:50in a situation
04:51to play for India,
04:51just shows attitude.
04:53And,
04:53at the end of the day,
04:54you want guys here
04:55that are in a squad
04:57or playing for India
04:57that's got fantastic attitudes,
04:59that's keen to work,
05:00keep on working hard.
05:02Because those guys
05:02will deliver,
05:03deliver for the team.
05:05And yeah,
05:06you know,
05:06they're both young,
05:07they're still sort of
05:08learning their trade.
05:09I think sometimes
05:09the challenge is,
05:11is that you have them
05:12for a small window of time
05:14and then,
05:15you know,
05:15they go away a little bit
05:16and,
05:17although we keep in touch
05:18and we,
05:19we,
05:19we stay connected to them,
05:21it's hard to,
05:22to keep your personal touch
05:23as a bowling coach on them.
05:25So then you have to come back
05:26and then we work
05:26on a couple of things.
05:27So,
05:28I think that's,
05:29you know,
05:30a way that,
05:30that we can,
05:31we can sort of try
05:32and,
05:32and in the future to,
05:34to make it better.
05:34but obviously now,
05:35we've got such a fantastic
05:36pool of players
05:37and I mean,
05:38these guys,
05:38they do well when they go back
05:40to,
05:40to their states.
05:41Um,
05:42but yeah,
05:42I'm excited now to see how they go
05:44with this opportunity given.
05:55Yeah.
06:02Um,
06:05of course,
06:06you know,
06:06I mean,
06:07once,
06:08one aspect is obviously for them to,
06:10to,
06:10to share their knowledge,
06:11what they found playing here.
06:14Um,
06:15but to be honest with you,
06:16I think,
06:17I think for us,
06:17it is,
06:18it is about,
06:19we talk about that,
06:21but,
06:22um,
06:23it's not to make that our main focus.
06:24Like I said,
06:25it's,
06:26you know,
06:27the strength of this team moving forward
06:28will be,
06:29our individuals can,
06:30at the moment,
06:31in that ball,
06:32some of the conditions,
06:32and how they can execute that.
06:34Um,
06:35of course,
06:36we'll look at all the players,
06:37we'll come up with plans.
06:38But I,
06:38I think that is,
06:39that is the winning moment,
06:40in,
06:40in wide ball cricket,
06:41is that,
06:41decision under,
06:42under pressure,
06:43as a bowler,
06:44with a captain,
06:45um,
06:46you know,
06:46what can you make,
06:47uh,
06:48what the best decision you can make,
06:50and you can execute that.
06:51So,
06:52um,
06:52we'll focus on that,
06:53with the,
06:54with the,
06:55with the knowledge of the guys,
06:56that play their,
06:56their wide ball cricket here.
06:58But,
06:58um,
06:59I think,
07:00for me is,
07:01and that the message will be at training,
07:02is to,
07:02to train and cover all bases.
07:04So,
07:04when that situation,
07:06comes in the middle,
07:07we're prepared and we're ready.
07:08So,
07:09we don't just depend on,
07:09on local guys playing in local conditions.
07:12Um,
07:13it mustn't,
07:13I,
07:13for me,
07:14I,
07:14I don't like that personally.
07:16Uh,
07:17I don't know.
07:18Uh,
07:20uh,
07:20uh,
07:20uh,
07:21uh,
07:21uh,
07:22uh,
07:35Yeah,
07:35I mean,
07:35we all know that the talent,
07:37uh,
07:37um,
07:38I think the more time he spends in this environment,
07:41you know,
07:41with the quality player,
07:43players,
07:43the more time he,
07:44he trains at this standard will only be,
07:47be,
07:48be,
07:48be great for his cricket.
07:50And,
07:50you know,
07:51if he's not getting that game time,
07:53um,
07:53he's still on a bus,
07:55in the dugout,
07:56in the hotel with guys with a lot of experience.
07:59And,
07:59you know,
07:59I think with him,
08:01um,
08:03sharing that sort of dressing room and talking through guys,
08:07how just actually watching how the guys go through their processes
08:10and how they set up in innings will be key for him.
08:13And I'm,
08:13I'm a big believer.
08:14Sometimes,
08:15um,
08:16if you put guys in the right environment and they can ask the right questions
08:19and they can observe.
08:20So I always challenged him.
08:21I said,
08:21watch what this guy is doing in training.
08:24How does he face his first 15 balls?
08:26When we get to stuff,
08:28what,
08:28um,
08:29what sort of game plan does he come up with?
08:31And,
08:31you know,
08:32for any young player,
08:33if he gets game time or,
08:35you know,
08:36if,
08:37if that game time is a little limited,
08:40it's still our jobs to,
08:41to make sure that these guys,
08:43um,
08:44learn,
08:45they grow,
08:46and they ask questions.
08:47I think that for me is,
08:48as a great,
08:49it's a fantastic growth sort of mind map.
08:51And yeah,
08:51I always,
08:52I always,
08:52I think for me,
08:53I mean,
08:53I'm a fast bowler.
08:54I can't really talk to him as batting,
08:55but I always ask him on the bus,
08:56what's the one thing you've learned today?
08:58Tell me,
08:59what did you think about that guy's batting?
09:00And that makes him think.
09:01And I think next time when it comes to nets,
09:03you know,
09:03that is sort of things you'll observe,
09:04you'll adapt it to his game.
09:06Yeah.
09:07Abhishek,
09:07I mean,
09:10obviously,
09:10um,
09:11he's frightening at the top,
09:12at the top,
09:13the way he's striking the ball,
09:15um,
09:16in that,
09:16in that first six,
09:17and even further,
09:18how he kicks on.
09:19It's amazing.
09:20Um,
09:21you know,
09:21what I like about Abhishek,
09:23he's a,
09:23he's a deep thinker about the game.
09:25He always,
09:27uh,
09:27at training comes with a,
09:28a specific plan,
09:30in terms of how he thinks bowlers are going to try and get him out.
09:33It's not just going into the nets and hitting every ball for six,
09:36and,
09:36you know,
09:37walking out.
09:38I think he's very,
09:38he,
09:38he thinks about his game quite a lot.
09:40It comes with a,
09:41a good structure plan at nets.
09:43And,
09:43and that's the reason why he's so successful.
09:46I have a question.
09:55You know,
10:01Gautam will,
10:02will look to,
10:03to,
10:03to,
10:03to rotate.
10:04I mean,
10:04like I said,
10:05um,
10:05um,
10:05that is up to the selectors and those guys,
10:08you know,
10:08and,
10:08and the,
10:09and the coach and the captain in terms of the playing 11,
10:11or which playing 11 will be the best to win a game,
10:15um,
10:15for,
10:15for India,
10:16um,
10:17in our home swell.
10:18And that does always,
10:18always be the main,
10:19main focus.
10:21Um,
10:21yeah,
10:21in terms of the starting 11,
10:23like I said,
10:24you know,
10:24we,
10:24the guys just came back from,
10:26from Asian games.
10:27So,
10:28we're all assess how everybody's feeling of the jet lag,
10:31of the traveling,
10:31and then from the,
10:32um,
10:33make a plan.
10:35Questions from this time.
10:38Any questions from this time?
10:41Hi.
10:41I'm also,
10:42just,
10:42what was that,
10:43the time was a combination of the,
10:45the,
10:46the,
10:48the,
10:48the,
10:48the,
10:49the,
10:50the,
10:50the,
10:51the,
10:53the,
10:55the,
10:55the,
10:58the,
11:02of the Asian games.
11:05you know,
11:05like I said,
11:06the real,
11:07we'll work out tonight here.
11:09What is the best,
11:10um,
11:10combination for us going,
11:11going into the series?
11:13Will they adapt?
11:14Will they float?
11:15Will they,
11:15will they,
11:16will they,
11:16will they,
11:16make the changes?
11:17Um,
11:17you know,
11:18I've got,
11:18honestly,
11:18can't give that answer.
11:21Any questions from this slide, if not we will take a blast from it.
11:51The other bit is, Kuldeep was left for the T21 Cup which happened in India.
11:56Then he wasn't for a previous series which came against somewhat less fancy teams.
12:02And now he's not a man.
12:03So please summarize both these questions on what to manage him.
12:08Look, I mean, I think Kuldeep spoke about it after the ODI series that he feels he's bowling well again.
12:17And that's great news for us.
12:19As a bowler, sometimes we can struggle with our rhythm.
12:22It takes a little bit longer at times to find that.
12:26But for us, it's a massive winner. He's confident in bowling well.
12:30Coming back with Dubin Atish, I mean, we're going to keep on asking those guys to work hard at training
12:40at nets.
12:41You never know at certain conditions, you know, the ball might grip a little bit more.
12:46It might suit one guy, but then they'll become four over bowlers.
12:49But I think purely on that, you need to see what the conditions are like.
12:55And from there, you can make a play.
12:57But, you know, from our point of view, the more bowling options we can have on a night as a
13:03captain at times, you know, that can help.
13:06Because, you know, you almost, I wouldn't say guarantee, but somebody will always be under pressure as a fast bowler.
13:12So if you can turn to certain other individuals to bowl you maybe over or two longer in the power
13:20play, if argument's sake,
13:22so Archieb is bowling well or Mayank is bowling well, you can afford to push him because you've got Atish
13:26ready.
13:26So I think it's about always keeping these guys ready.
13:31And then from there, reading the conditions, reading what the wicket is doing, boundary sizes.
13:36We've got a luxury here that, you know, it's quite a big field.
13:39So these guys come into the conversation a lot more.
13:43So it's not just about having a set plan, saying, you know, these guys are going to bowl one or
13:48two overs.
13:49It is about preparing them, getting them ready.
13:52And from there, we look and say, OK, we've got options.
13:55This is how the wicket is playing.
13:57I mean, the wicket can change if we bat or bowl first.
14:00So that is just nice to have options and that available.
14:03One final question.
14:04Hi, Mark. That's for Mike.
14:06I didn't take a lot of context for the previous question.
14:34Yeah.
14:35Yeah.
14:36Yeah.
14:38Yeah.
14:38It's very, very crucial.
14:39I think, you know, the luxury that we have is these guys can play different styles as well.
14:46You know, if we lose early wickets, you know, Taylor can go and he can settle the batting innings.
14:52I mean, at the back end, he's played some fantastic innings as far.
14:55So I think that's the luxury that we have at the moment that depending on how the flow of the
15:00game goes, we can, you know, put these guys in different situations and in different positions in terms of how
15:07we start and how we think we can have a stronger finish with the bat to give us a momentum
15:12with the ball.
15:13So, again, you know, there's a lot of, a lot of things that you need to be sharp with at
15:18T20 cricket in terms of making those calls.
15:22And yeah, at the end of the day, we're going to, we're going to try our best to make the
15:25best possible calls in those situations.
15:27But in saying that, you know, to have those guys, the quality of those guys that can adapt to those
15:32roles and, you know, not selfishly saying, listen, I just want to bat here.
15:38They're very team first, team driven, and they're very flexible and helping, you know, our batting lineup in terms of
15:45what we need on the day in that situation, which is great.
15:49Thank you, Monique.
15:50Thank you, everybody.
