00:01C'est parti !
00:32C'est parti !
01:05C'est parti !
01:11C'est parti !
01:41I'll tell you, my anxiety goes up tenfold.
01:45Whenever we have one of these matches,
01:50you never know what's going to happen, Kevin.
01:51I'm with you.
01:56It's a dangerous setting.
01:58Romo, when he came back from the broken neck, said he wasn't going to change his style.
02:03He certainly hasn't.
02:09And the storyboard continues.
02:13The storybook night one talked about beating the IWGP junior heavyweight champion.
02:23Oh, look who's the cover boy.
02:26Oh, look who's the cover boy.
02:30El Desperado is next.
02:33I'll tell you what, I said it the other night, Hiromu has a way of eating up all the oxygen
02:39in the room.
02:40You know, it's impossible for other juniors to get over with him as the top guy because he just, he's
02:48so captivating.
02:49He is his one-of-a-kind and it's only once in a generation you get someone like Takahashi and
02:55at the moment, he really is living it up as one of the best juniors in the world.
03:03Only nine and ten here at Tork at home.
03:09Four and five in Best of Super Junior matches, including his 2018 loss.
03:13The 2018 tournament loss to El Desperado.
03:33This is going to be an intense main event, Kevin.
03:39I think he's in like seven main events in this tournament, which speaks to his star power.
03:53All right, so how-
03:54And you can't deny the talents of Desperado.
03:56No, you can't, and he's carrying both junior heavyweight titles because of Kanemaru's injury.
04:02They last met with the junior heavyweight tag team gold on the line.
04:07Desperado and Kanemaru successfully retaining right here at Corkin against Hiromu and Bushi.
04:16A different tempo to start than Hiromu and Ishimori the other night.
04:23Yeah, very quick start.
04:27But Despy's more methodical in what he does.
04:36I know you're a Doki guy.
04:38I know you're a Master Watto guy.
04:40Somebody who hasn't won Best of Super Juniors before, I'm a Desperado guy.
04:45I like Desperado and Kanemaru as a team, as individuals.
04:49You've said this for a while and you've convinced me, to be honest, Kevin.
04:52Desperado, since coming back from his injury, has been a completely different wrestler and really enjoyable to watch.
04:57I don't always agree with their tactics, but obviously you cannot argue with the wrestling acumen.
05:05So, El Desperado.
05:14I think intentionally slowing the pace down and maybe a little bit of the steam taken out from Hiromu from
05:20that 20-minute war he had with Ishimori on night one.
05:24Maybe there's a realization, there's so much more of the tournament to go.
05:35Real rugged lockup between these two.
05:40Both part of the dojo system here in New Japan.
05:44But again, the personalities of the athletes.
05:52Overhand chopp into the chest.
05:55Now Takahashi's got heavy hands.
06:02Just because Desperado, wait a minute.
06:05Oh my god.
06:07The tempo just picked up, Kevin.
06:09With reckless abandon throwing Desperado of one side of the barricade to the other and again.
06:25Amplifying the intensity like a light switch going off.
06:34Andy Haynes.
06:36The payback.
06:40Desperado puts him in my piece of the mouth.
06:42Straight right there.
06:43Hey.
06:44Oh my.
06:45Your full mouth is run right into the mouth.
06:50And now this has just turned into a brawl, Kevin.
06:55Getting nasty.
06:56Both men shoving the referee away.
06:59Desperado again thrown to the outside.
07:01A lot of bad blood has brewed between these two throughout the years.
07:04There's no doubt about it.
07:05It's coming to light here.
07:16Gino, when you've wrestled somebody that you don't like personally and doesn't like you,
07:20how do the matches change?
07:23How do you change your game plan?
07:26Well, all of a sudden, winning is not the most important thing.
07:29It's almost you just want to hurt the other person as bad as you can.
07:32You can see that here with these two guys just going at it.
07:36There's no opportunity to win here, Kevin.
07:39They're just throwing each other into the barricades at this point.
07:41and trading real hard blows.
07:44I wonder if they're even aware of Red Shoes with the count up to 14 and 15 now.
07:49I don't think they care.
07:50They could get counted out.
07:51It would be a double count out.
07:53No points for either man.
07:54And now both at 19 dive in.
07:57Break the count.
07:58And straight back out.
07:59Yep.
08:02This is what I'm saying.
08:03There is no game plan.
08:04When it's someone you have bad blood with,
08:07it becomes a pure brawl.
08:09Watch this.
08:11Oh my God.
08:12Desperado crushing him.
08:17Usually the best of Super Junior tournament matches happen without the barricades
08:22for obvious reasons.
08:24But because of the COVID protocols,
08:28the barricades are now required for all New Japan matches.
08:37Kakahashi's head just lying over that still bar.
08:42Both men landed awkwardly.
08:44Obviously Despery got the best of it.
08:46Two.
08:47One.
08:47Four.
08:49One.
08:51Six.
08:52Seven.
08:53And now Desperado loosening the red corner pad.
08:59He's taking a page of the Yarners.
09:02Referee force is focused on applying the count to Hiromu,
09:06who has to answer that call before 20.
09:09Or Desperado would win via count out, get two points.
09:12And he rolls in before 18.
09:14But now the red corner pad has been torn away in an exposed turnbuckle.
09:18Hiromu victimized when Evil did the same thing.
09:25When Hiromu challenged Evil for the double titles,
09:44He's seriously saying he's sorry.
09:48Well, he's done it again.
09:49Yeah.
09:53And Red Shoes is not going to count the pin
09:56after a direct, as a direct result of a foul.
10:01Well, as much as these two men want to hurt each other,
10:03still rules in wrestling.
10:07And Desperado is starting to go to work on the left leg of Hiromu.
10:15Softening up that body part for the application of Numero Dos,
10:19his version of the stretch muffler.
10:25Locks that in so deeply, too.
10:27Wrenches that knee.
10:31An amazing combination of flexibility,
10:34toughness, and athletic ability from El Desperado
10:37makes him a dangerous customer.
10:54Not many who would stand there and trade it to Hiromu
10:57and come out on top, but Desperado managed to.
11:04Oh, the trash talk we need this match given.
11:06Yeah, there certainly is.
11:08Two and a kick out.
11:15Hiromu was the one who issued the challenge
11:17to Desperado and Kanemaru
11:19for the Junior Heavyweight Tag Team title match.
11:22And at first, Desperado said,
11:23I'm not interested.
11:25But of course, New Japan matchmakers
11:27had the final say
11:27and quickly signed that title match,
11:30which we saw in our previous tour
11:33on the road to power struggle.
11:40Uh-oh, wait a minute.
11:41Wait a minute.
11:42Trapping down the arm in the...
11:44Wait, no.
11:44The dragon screw leg whip denied.
11:45Desperado avoids it.
11:47Numero changes direction.
11:51Takes him over with the head scissors.
11:55Desperado was picking apart Takahashi there.
11:59And that knee's going to be a problem.
12:06And now back into the corner.
12:09Reversing the Irish whip.
12:13And now Hiromu had a steam.
12:15Yes, the drop kick is true.
12:20And Desperado...
12:21But has the damage been done?
12:22Yep, Desperado going to the outside.
12:24And that does not stop.
12:27Hiromu Takahashi!
12:31Sends Desperado flying backwards
12:33into that barricade
12:34with that shotgun drop kick.
12:38When you wrestle Hiromu,
12:40you wrestle a man
12:40who has no care
12:42about his own well-being.
12:44Brashing hard to the deck
12:46with a weakened knee.
12:49Desperado doesn't...
12:52And a shotgun drop kick
12:53propelling Desperado
12:54into the fence.
13:02Now Hiromu Takahashi
13:04here in our main event.
13:06Topkin arrow.
13:10Two...
13:11And Desperado is able
13:12to kick out.
13:13Yeah, not a strong pin there
13:15by Hiromu.
13:18Thanks be easily kicking out
13:19of that one.
13:27Your first meeting
13:28is Young Lions
13:29all the way back
13:30in 2010, Gino.
13:31They've been fighting
13:32each other for a decade.
13:35And as you said,
13:36a lot of bad blood
13:37between both of them.
13:44Both men feeling the effects of the brawls on the outside
13:53Collision in the corner
13:57And Desperado is there now
13:59Oh wait
14:00Hiromu unable to turn on that knee
14:03And a drop kick down to the knee
14:11Desperado not leading up on that knee
14:12He knows that's his key to victory here
14:21So the knee of Hiromu Takahashi
14:23The focus of El Desperado in our main event
14:39Guitarra Del Angel, no, waistlock
14:41Thrust kick, caught
14:44Another waistlock, Desperado fires the shot
14:47Big shot there
14:55Both men not wanting to show any weakness
14:57And standing and taking it
14:59Absorbing each blow
15:07Oh man, Desperado grits his teeth
15:11Not wanting to show any weakness
15:13This fighting spirit is a dangerous drug, isn't it, Gito?
15:18Absolutely, they're chasing it
15:20Constantly
15:21They want to show that they are the warrior
15:26Their last match
15:27Their last meeting
15:29Here at Corican Hall
15:31Was an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship defense
15:34A successful one for Hiromu
15:38And it went 28 minutes
15:41By far their longest battle
15:46Hiromu had, or rather
15:48Desperado had won their last
15:50During the best of the Super Junior Tournament
15:53Swing and a miss
15:54Thrust kick
15:56Another drop kick to the knee
15:58He cannot change direction
16:00So smart by Desperado
16:02Numero dos and Hiromu diving to the ropes
16:08It's not only knowing what you can do, Gino
16:12But it's knowing what your opponent can't do
16:14And he knows Hiromu can't change directions
16:16Spot on
16:17And Desperado felt that he wasn't going to win that title
16:20And went straight back to that knee
16:25So now
16:26El Desperado will look to
16:29Pinch a local
16:30No, wait a minute
16:31Instead, Hiromu all the way over
16:33Now trying to end it here with a cradle
16:35And a near fall
16:37First goal for Despy
16:40Downstairs in the midsection
16:42Hiromu digs his heels in
16:44And fires with a lariat
16:46Knocking Desperado down
16:49Hiromu's going to take his time now
16:51To try and regroup
16:54But that knee
16:55That knee's going to be a major factor
16:57Towards the end of this match
17:08Here we go
17:09Hiromu pick him up on the shoulders
17:13Dynamite Plunger
17:14Dynamite Plunger opens the door
17:15For everything offensively
17:17Leading towards the conclusion of the match
17:19Hiromu gets a near fall
17:25But the setup for time, Bob
17:27Dynamite Plunger
17:28He might look to jam him in the corner now
17:32Up on the shoulders
17:34Going for that corner
17:36But Desperado was ready
17:38Watch out
17:42Despy landed high
17:45Hiromu needed something there
17:47And he got that
17:51And the trash talking continues
17:57And she's checking
17:59To see if each athlete is able to continue
18:01As soon as he makes that assertion
18:03If they can, he tells him to get back up and fight
18:11Now a second time
18:12Looking to jam Desperado into the corner
18:25And you can't tell
18:27Hiromu no
18:29But Desperado's eye
18:30Fingers into the eyes
18:31Will stop that
18:33Thrust kick there
18:34Not quite the lift he normally has
18:36But it was enough
18:37Now the referee pulled into the way
18:39And the waistlock
18:41Standing switch
18:42Hold on a second
18:43Went for a low blow
18:48Hiromu avoids disaster
18:50Plants Desperado
18:51With another area
18:55First kicks out
18:56As effective as they usually are
18:58With that sore knee
19:00Hiromu throwing a deep area
19:02Desperado coming back up
19:04Now Hiromu on his feet
19:05Each man with the same idea
19:07But Hiromu comes out
19:08The better
19:35Drops him
19:39Is this enough
19:40Two
19:42Barely
19:42Just barely
19:43Getting that shoulder up
19:45Hiromu has to think about
19:46Trying to end this
19:47As soon as possible
19:48The longer this goes
19:51The more the favour
19:52Rolls into Desperado
19:55Yeah
19:55Because that knee
19:56Is not going to get any better
19:58It is going to take
19:59All the time
20:00Or all the efforts
20:01Of the training staff
20:02To make sure that Hiromu's knee
20:04Is good to go
20:05For the continuation
20:06Of this tournament
20:10It is still such early days
20:12To
20:15Look to drive him down
20:16But
20:21Now the change
20:22Of direction
20:23Again
20:23The spear
20:24Hiromu roots in
20:25No
20:28Spine buster
20:30Into
20:31Desperado
20:37Desperado knows
20:37This is his key
20:38To victory
20:39He's wrenching down
20:40On that knee
20:43Hiromu's had answers
20:44For Desperado
20:45Gino
20:45But the
20:46Strategy
20:47The game plan
20:47Of Desperado
20:48Absolutely sound
20:49Yeah
20:50Has not changed
20:51Since the start
20:52Of this match
20:56And now Hiromu
20:57In grave danger
20:58Of being submitted
20:59Here
21:04And he gets
21:05To the ropes
21:08Before having
21:08To make that decision
21:09About whether or not
21:10Do I tap out
21:11And live to fight
21:13Another day
21:13Or do I risk
21:14My whole tournament
21:16That's that fighting
21:17Spirit we were
21:18Talking about earlier
21:19Here we go
21:20Pinche loco
21:21Pinche loco
21:26Hiromu
21:27Really sandbagging
21:28Really dead waiting
21:31Trying to
21:32Elevate him again
21:33Can't do it
21:38Desperation there
21:41Had to do something
21:42To get Desperado
21:43Off him
21:44And the small
21:45Backdrop
21:45Might not have been
21:46Overly effective
21:47But it did the job
21:50The wear and tear
21:52Of this match
21:52Has taken its toll
21:53On both men
21:55And Romu
21:56Clutching that knee
21:59Again that
22:00Exposed turnbuckle
22:02Looming as a target
22:03Potentially as well
22:18Crawl to the center
22:20And Desperado
22:21Fires first
22:21There is not much
22:22On these strikes
22:23Though
22:37Both men exhausted
22:39And just throwing
22:39Their body weight
22:40Into these forearms
22:50Who's got more left
22:52At this moment
22:52In time
22:56Seems like the anger
22:58The personal animosity
22:59That both men have
23:00For each other
23:00Now beginning
23:01To take over
23:03That's their driving
23:04Fuel right now
23:10Backman just barely
23:11Standing
23:23Thrust kick
23:25Oh man
23:27Another one
23:28Flattens Desperado
23:31Got him right
23:32Under the chin
23:35Now for Romu
23:36To take advantage
23:37To J.P. Canton
23:41Straight right hand
23:42Oh man
23:45It was that type
23:46Of punch
23:47From Jun Kasai
23:48That broke the jaw
23:50Of Desperado
23:51Denying him
23:52Entry into last year's
23:54Best of Super Junior
23:55Tournament
23:55He has used it
23:57As his own move
23:58Now
24:01As the 20 minute mark
24:03Has gone by
24:04In our main event
24:16Here we go
24:17Another attempt
24:18At Pinche Loco
24:19Again
24:19Hiromu able to get out
24:24Great strength
24:25By Hiromu
24:28And has that
24:30Exposed corner
24:31In mind
24:32Oh my god
24:32Jidar
24:36Almost forgot about it
24:37And there it is
24:38Then exposed
24:39Turnbuckle again
24:40Becoming a major
24:41Factor in this match
24:42And Despy driven
24:44Hard into it
24:45Wait a minute
24:46Wait a minute
24:46And a roll up
24:47And a roll up
24:47A roll up
24:48A roll up
24:48Oh
24:49That was close
24:54And now
24:56Oh no
24:57Red shoes got caught
24:58There's a low blow
24:59From Desperado
25:02Red shoes jammed
25:03Into that exposed steel
25:05And Hiromu
25:07Absorbing the low blow
25:08From El Desperado
25:29And now Desperado
25:31And now Desperado
25:31What's he looking for?
25:35Well the chair
25:36They keep spare chairs
25:38Under the ring
25:39For the announce team
25:41And the ring announcers
25:42Just in case
25:43And Desperado
25:45Has used the chair
25:47Before as a weapon
25:48Against Hiromu
25:49And with no referee
25:51It's free reign
25:52For El Desperado
25:54To swing for the fences
25:55Here at Cork and Hall
25:59And Hiromu knows
26:01That he's got that chair
26:02Tell him
26:02Go ahead
26:03Hit me
26:04He's embodying it
26:06Kevin
26:10And it's dead
26:11Oh wait a minute
26:12Wait a minute
26:13Oh my god
26:21He went straight
26:22For that knee
26:23And now Red shoes
26:25Being picked up
26:26And rolled back in
26:31And Hiromu's
26:32In a lot of pain
26:33Kevin
26:33And Numero dos
26:35Gonna get locked in tight
26:38Hiromu wouldn't
26:39Have a choice here
26:43He's gonna think about
26:44The rest of his tournament
26:47And the knee of Hiromu
26:49Has been the focus
26:50Of El Desperado
26:51The entire time
26:52Being smashed
26:54With the chair
26:54And now Voltar
26:55Is being trapped
26:56Pulled away
27:01He can't even tap
27:03Kevin
27:03Just screaming in pain
27:08Verbal tap out
27:17Desperado is proud
27:18Of himself
27:25Not only a victory
27:27In points
27:27But a moral victory
27:28In his heart
27:29He got that win
27:30On somebody
27:31Who he had such
27:31Bad blood with
27:32Does it take away
27:33From the fact
27:34That he couldn't
27:35Beat Hiromu
27:36Straight up
27:37He had to hit him
27:37He had to foul him
27:38And he had to use
27:39The chair on the leg
27:41I don't think
27:41Desperado cares
27:44I think he needed
27:45This win
27:53So in Desperado's
27:54Last best of
27:55Super Junior tournament
27:56He beat Hiromu
27:58And he's done it again
27:58Here in 2020
28:03He's done it again
28:06He said this
28:07Three count
28:07It's not
28:09You don't know
28:14You don't know
28:16Three count
28:20You've known
28:20It's not
28:20You've told me
28:23You've told me
28:26You've done it
28:29Si ça s'est terminé, ça sera le deuxième ?
28:32C'est quoi ?
28:33Le deuxième est pas le deuxième, mais il ne faut pas que j'aime et j'aime.
28:39Tu as l'air encore.
29:56So, what does this match tell us about the rest of the tournament, Geno?
30:00Does it change any of your picks going forward?
30:05My picks don't change, but I think Takahashi's got a long road ahead of him.
30:10I probably picked him as one of the favorites at the start, but right now, he's had two real long
30:15matches,
30:16and you're right, more main events to come.
30:18That's a lot of labor to put on someone's shoulders.
30:20Donc aujourd'hui les gagnants sont Shou, Master Watto, Taji Ishimori, Bushi et El Desperado.
30:30Shou et Master Watto sont 4 ans.
30:34Il y a un groupe de athletes à 2 ans.
30:37Doki et Umura sont encore prêts.
30:41Super Junior, j'ai gagné l'année dernière.
30:43Sous-titrage ST' 501.
30:47Il ne peut pas être en train de dormir.
30:48Non, il a été un peu déçu.
30:51Il a été un peu plus dur.
30:55Il a étéité de l'honneur.
31:01Il a étéé à l'école.
32:30And they're put up at njpwworld.com
32:32So a look at the standings
32:34We told you that a pair of athletes
32:36Show at Master Watto
32:39Unbeaten so far
32:40Perfect 2-0
32:42And everyone else at 2
32:43Except for Doki and Uomura
32:46And obviously
32:47The story with Hiromu Takahashi
32:49Is going to be the wear and tear
32:51During this tournament
32:53Another, as you said, Gino
32:5420 minute plus main event match
32:56And all the main events that he will have to come
32:59Obviously he's the main man
33:01In this tournament
33:02Even though Ishimori is the junior heavyweight champion
33:04All eyes are on Hiromu
33:07Yeah, spot on
33:08But again, these long matches are going to take their toll
33:11These main events
33:12And now, after a chair taken to his knee
33:15Anything is possible
33:16We could see a row of losses now
33:18For Hiromu
33:19Let's see what happens
33:20Tomorrow we get back into World Tag League action
33:23Let's run down the lineup
33:24You'll see
33:26Of course, it'll be live with Japanese commentary
33:28We'll be adding our English commentary right afterward
33:30The first tournament match tomorrow
33:33Should be interesting
33:34It's Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale
33:37Versus The Great Okan and Jeff Cobb
33:40Yeah, that's going to be an interesting match
33:42I look forward to that one
33:43There's some big boys in that match
33:46And there's some strong heads
33:47So who knows what's going to happen
33:49We'll then see
33:52Tanahashi and Hanare
33:53The Hanare's team
33:55Versus Finjuice
33:56Obviously, Tanahashi's knee is a story as well
34:00Well, you know
34:01Hanare didn't have the start of the tournament
34:04They probably would have liked
34:05And Finjuice is on fire
34:07So it might be a quick one again
34:10Gorillas of Destiny
34:11With back-to-back matches within Bullet Club
34:13This time
34:13Tama and Tangaloa
34:16Will take on Evil
34:17And Yujiro Takahashi
34:19We've seen G.O.D.'s not here to play
34:21As much as it's a Bullet Club
34:22Bullet Club match
34:23I think we're going to see G.O.D.
34:25Try and bring their A-game again
34:27G.O.D. will probably go to sleep during this one
34:30Not much interest
34:30Yoshihashi, Hiroki Goto
34:32Versus Toriyano and Tomohiro Ishi
34:35All my four best friends in that match, Kevin
34:37But it's going to be an interesting one nonetheless
34:40We've got a jam-packed main event for you as well tomorrow night
34:43Dangerous Techers
34:45The IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions
34:47Against Shingo Takagi and Sonata
34:50Yeah, look
34:50At the moment
34:51I'm a big fan of the Shingo Sonata team
34:53A great main event
34:55And you're right
34:55It's going to be action-packed
34:57So that is tomorrow
34:58As the World Tag League
35:01And Super Junior tournaments
35:02Run concurrently
35:03Currently, they'll take
35:04Each one will take the night off
35:06And then get back into action
35:08All the way through
35:09With me and Gino
35:10Until we get to our final stops
35:12Where we will be live
35:14December 6th
35:15We'll determine who the finalists are
35:17Of both tournaments
35:18And then December 11th
35:20Where we'll crown winners from Budokan
35:23We want to thank you very much
35:24For joining us here tonight
