David and the protesters are confronted by Nathan at Home Farm, who announces that the public footpath is closed until further notice. Eric arrives and announces that he has cleared it with the council to keep the path open. Nathan is aghast, but Eric assures him that once he's elected he can reverse the decision.

00:15i'm on about my interview mcnally twisted everything i said never trust the press
00:20they always have their own agenda just don't know why to be so hostile towards me
00:26can't imagine well i hope we don't put people off my campaign i were hoping for a good turnout today
00:31for this protest walk well you should be lucky people like to turn out for a little protest if
00:36they could skive off work i don't want them sort of people coming this is an important local issue
00:42yeah well so is sewage disposal but i don't see any of your people chaining themselves to the
00:47railings over that yeah so you don't consider it a priority in the campaign then naturally i will
00:52do whatever seems best for my constituents i'm glad you lot are here oh we're all right behind you
01:02i thought the interview and the curry might have put people off you don't need the press to tell us
01:05what to think the only reason they're against you is they can't afford to lose home farm advertising
01:23what do you think you're doing you're blocking a public footpath yeah well that's a matter of
01:27dispute at the moment well you've already been told these historic rights away i hardly think some
01:33ancient documents have any real relevance in a modern context now as you know this footpath runs
01:38next to the game farm it's a matter of public safety there's never been a problem with that
01:42well we're trying to stop any accidents aren't we and we've spoken to the council and until
01:47we've got legal clarification of where we stand then this footpath will remain closed you can't do
01:51well i do insist i'm afraid
01:58no right to stop us this is a peaceful protest yeah best way to keep it like that is if
02:03you
02:03disperse now and wait for the council's decision how much are they paying you
02:08ha you're the one that's being paid well you would have been if you hadn't joined this protest
02:14anyone that's absent without leave from my factory will have their wages docked you have no right to
02:21stop us making a democratic protest yeah we wouldn't try look i'm sure we're all reasonable people and we
02:26want this dispute settled peacefully and i have been discussing the issue with the relevant officials
02:32yeah i'm glad to hear it and i'd like to assure everyone that i'm willing to abide by whatever their
02:37decision is well the decision is that the footpath should remain open for the foreseeable future
