00:00Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has backed England captain Harry Kane to win the Ballon d'Or.
00:07Michael Owen was the last Englishman to win the individual accolade and Pickford believes the former Tottenham Hotspur forward has
00:15what it takes to win the award.
00:17Kane has had a terrific career with Bayern Munich in Germany after leaving the Premier League and has one of
00:25the most impressive goal scoring records in Europe and for his country.
00:30Here's what Jordan Pickford had to say about his England captain.
00:34In this England set-up you kind of came through together. Talk to me about him, all he's achieved and
00:39whether this feels like it's his moment.
00:41Yeah, I think he's right in the mix for it. I think what he sets himself, the standards he has
00:47for himself and the goals he scores are second to none but he's all-round character as a lad.
00:53I think he's a great example for anyone in football to set the standards he does. That's why he gets
00:59the rewards and for me I love nothing more than seeing him lifting the Ballon d'Or.
01:04I think it's a credit to him and his family and the work they're put in around the place and
01:07that's why he gets all the goals and the rewards he does.
01:09So it'll be great for Harry if he gets it and I know he's got another two games now and
01:15he matches Peter Shilton's record so there's another target he's got in mind.
01:18So it could be a great couple of months for the skipper and it'll be fully deserved and hard work
01:25pays off. I think that's the message.
