00:21The Yaliyah fame actress took to social media to shed light on a false and speculating report
00:28stating that she has no involvement in any illegal foreign remittances or proxy properties.
00:37She also clarified that she has been paying her taxes since the age of 20 and built her
00:44career through hard work.
00:46Rakul urged media to retract and clarify all the facts, saying commercial pressure should
00:53not come at the cost of facts and an individual's reputation.
00:57Rakul shared a note that read, it's heartbreaking to see that there's a growing trend amongst
01:05the self-styled online reporters and some mainstream media journalists to sensationalize the news
01:13without verifying facts.
01:16Let's therefore set the record straight once for all.
01:19The search was not pertaining to me.
01:22Let it be known that I am from the armed force background and had no godfather in the industry.
01:30I have come up through sheer hard work and as a responsible law-abiding citizen, have been
01:38in paying my due taxes since the age of 20 years.
01:42I am not involved in any kind of illegal foreign remittance in personal capacity or on behalf of
01:51any production house.
01:53I would also add here that I do not hold any Bimani property on behalf of anyone anywhere in
02:02the country or abroad.
02:04Neither anyone has ever gifted me any property at any time nor do I accept such expensive gifts

02:14For the unversed, the clarification comes after the Mumbai Income Tax Department reportedly
02:22conducted searches at 12 locations over suspected financial irregularities and alleged overseas
02:31fund transfer linked to film financing.
02:34Reports also mentioned locations allegedly connected to Rakul, her father-in-law and filmmaker Vasu
