00:00Le match n'était pas la G1 Climax, mais il y a beaucoup de fans qui sont en train de
00:19se faire.
00:21Plus, c'est plus important que ça.
00:23Je sais pas ce que j'ai été en train de se faire.
00:30Là elle est !
00:41Ah oui !
00:42La belle Mihoaabe !
01:10All rise for our holy Emperor.
02:18à venir à New Japan pro-wrestling.
02:22Et while Ishii fought tooth-and-nail
02:48was revealed to us all.
02:54That was that March battle in Okayama
02:59that showed us what Taichi could do.
03:03He had already begun to prove himself
03:05in his first matches against Tetsuya Naito
03:09and Roshi Tanahashi,
03:11but it's just for the beans.
03:14She's lovely.
03:15And now let's keep on.
03:17She won the climax of 32 matches.
03:21The block.
03:26So if we look at some Chris Sampson stats
03:29at thechrissampsonportaprowrestling.com,
03:32coming out of the blocks fast,
03:34more important than ever.
03:36And while Taichi starts his three G1s
03:39to the record of two and one,
03:41Ishii is a notoriously slow starter.
03:44Three and six.
03:46From chaos.
03:49Scoring four.
03:53Our hero, Ishii.
04:00Add to that, we talked about the home field advantage.
04:04Taichi 2-0, a perfect 2-0.
04:07G1 matches right here in Sapporo.
04:10He's known for polishing off some of his biggest rivals
04:13in the G1.
04:14Compete a Tetsuya Naito right here.
04:26And he knows and is said.
04:30Taichi has.
04:31If he gets past Ishii,
04:32he really feels that it could be smooth sailing.
04:35And he might be right from a physical standpoint,
04:37from a mental standpoint,
04:39as Miho Abe is trembling and in fear
04:42of what might happen already here.
04:49Now Ishii saying he's gonna crush Taichi.
04:55He said he's showing some respect to Taichi
04:58for what he's been able to do,
05:01especially in his hometown.
05:03But Ishii said,
05:04I'm gonna show the whole world
05:06what you're made of here in Sapporo.
05:09And Ishii said, let's wrestle.
05:15I'm not here to play around.
05:38Looks like Taichi is all business as well.
05:42I'm not here to play around.
05:45I'm not here to play around.
05:46I'm not here to play around.
05:47Here we go.
05:47Common elbow time begins.
05:4830 minutes are on the clock.
05:51And this promises to be as physical as it gets.
05:59There's the rules.
06:0228 men comprise four blocks of seven.
06:06You get two points for a win.
06:08And one each of it goes to 30 minute time limit.
06:12Oh man, he's out.
06:13Zero for a draw.
06:15So last night, Julius Robinson flattened Takamichi Noku
06:18with a left hand punch on the button.
06:21And that palm strike.
06:24Ishi conscious but barely.
06:26Yeah, that was the receipt for the slap across the face
06:30that Ishii gave Taichi.
06:33As Taichi was still in his corner.
06:36There was a once upon a time
06:40we would talk about the different mentors of both these two.
06:44Taichi, as I mentioned, was taken under the very tough, loving, harsh wing of Toshiaki.
06:50Kawada.
06:51Oh man, Kawada was himself.
06:56Senpai mentored by Genichiro Chenryu way back in the day.
07:00And Chenryu was Ishii's trainer and coach in the early stage of his career.
07:05Early employer.
07:07This has all become something very different and warped into its own deeply personal issue.
07:18And they were in opposite blocks last year in this tournament.
07:22They've met 2020, 2019, splitting decisions.
07:26Taichi getting the win in their first G1 meeting.
07:30Ishii returning the favor the following year.
07:32The forearm from Ishii has put Taichi down.
07:36Referee Marty Asami could have a decision to make here as to whether or not to call for the bell.
07:42Referees will give the fighters every opportunity to get back on their feet.
07:46Because they know, the referees know, that these athletes can absorb in human amounts of punishment.
07:53The referee never wants to be chided for throwing a G1 match out with so much at stake.
08:00Prematurely.
08:02The effect is having Miho Abe out in front of us.
08:06Normally she's pounding the mat trying to get behind Taichi but recoiling with every shot.
08:12He doesn't want to look at what's happening in the ring.
08:17And referee Marty Asami is fervent trying to get Ishii off of Taichi who is in the corner.
08:28Let him do his job.
08:37Ishii calling out Taichi by his shoot name there.
08:45Taichi Ishikari was the name first.
08:49Fans first came to know Taichi by all the way back in the day when he was teaming with Milano
08:55Collection.
08:55A team putter Yumi on it in Rise which went on to become Paios.
09:03There's a lot of history going a long, long way back.
09:06Oh my god.
09:13Taichi will look to mix in those leg kicks.
09:16Taichi goes high and often and now trying to take him down with some of that sumo training.
09:23Oh man that was a little Greco-Roman throw hold into the trip there.
09:38Taichi is sending Ishii back now throwing him in the buckle hold.
09:42Gabangiri back side front side.
09:44My goodness.
09:47Those last two big wins.
09:52In the G1 for Taichi 2019 beat Naito as we mentioned.
09:56In 2020 he beat his faction leader Minoru Suzuki right here in this building.
10:10So for any competitor in your hometown you bring a little extra and that's something that Taichi
10:17definitely tends to do.
10:30In these battles between Taichi and Ishii kind of the embodiment of the frustration that each
10:36man felt early in their careers.
10:40And they sort of take that frustration out on one another.
10:43They bring that fight to one another.
10:46Oh yeah no show, no ha-ha with the rip off of the pants there.
10:51I mean Ishii definitely took the long and hard road and earned that long-term respect.
10:58Taichi got there but for the longest time he was taking all of those shortcuts.
11:03Attaching himself to Takumi Chinooka first to Satoshi Kojima and then Minoru Suzuki.
11:12I think that warrior within Taichi has come out.
11:15So when Ishii sees Taichi show up to the press conferences or give his pre-tournament interview
11:21saying well he's going to win the G1 for clout and he only wants YouTube subscribers.
11:26I mean that's going to really tick off a guy like Tenya Tomoeiro Ishii.
11:32Chops from Ishii connecting not across the chest of Taichi but rather in the throat.
11:47He's actually able to turn on a dime, Ishii incredibly quick feet.
11:52Got the powerful legs of Taichi doing their damage.
12:07There's no speed other than full speed ahead for Tomoeiro Ishii in these tournaments.
12:14We saw it in the opening night for him last year against Shingo Takagi.
12:21Look at that dangerous suplex.
12:24Swing and a miss for the axe bomber.
12:26And instead it's Taichi who gets sent up and down with the backdrop suplex.
12:36The majority of times we talk about the roots of the athletes you see in the G1
12:43formated here in the New Japan Dojo. But these two as Chris highlighted
12:49took the long road to get to where they are today.
13:09ishii.
13:10Ishii putting Taichi up.
13:12Loves to use that huge superplex.
13:21He's trying to see Taichi's right hand. He's let go of the rope now.
13:25And he's.
13:25Oh no, there's no way.
13:28Other one down and he's going to.
13:30Oh, he almost lost it.
13:31Wow, my God.
13:34Made Taichi wait.
13:36Leg is hooked. Two and a kick out by Taichi.
13:45And now Miho Abe.
13:50Who was in fear earlier for what was happening to Taichi.
13:54There's that fervent pounding of the mat.
13:56We've come to know from her in support of her man.
14:00Who needs all the help as Ishii gets sent to put him away.
14:13Oh, and the axe bomber.
14:15From Taichi staggers Ishii.
14:18Not that time it didn't.
14:26Drills him with the forearm.
14:37We say this just in case.
14:39Two points for a win.
14:41Zero points for a loss.
14:43One point for a draw.
14:44That's not necessarily if it goes to a time limit draw.
14:47But if it's a double D, double KO rather.
14:54We might well see just that.
15:04But each man will get up back on their feet.
15:09And now it's Taichi calling Ishii in.
15:18Taichi recalling to the ropes.
15:20But ails Ishii on the way in.
15:22Ooh, and the blind side axe bomber.
15:24And the common eerie.
15:26The tip of the toe.
15:28Right across the brow.
15:38On the power.
15:39The strength.
15:40The last right.
15:41The stack.
15:43Two.
15:44Oh, my.
15:45Ishii is able to kick out.
15:47You could not get more body on body than Taichi had on Ishii.
15:53All of his body weight.
15:54And all of Ishii's own.
15:57It took everything the stone pitbull had to kick out.
16:17And Taichi looking confident for the first time that he's on the doorstep of victory.
16:23Uh-oh, wait a minute.
16:26Ishii had the Black Mephisto scouted.
16:28But not the dangerous backdrop.
16:30And now the leg is hooked.
16:32And Taichi has almost done it.
16:39dangerous T almost coming away with the W.
16:43Don't go there.
16:45Don't go there.
16:48Don't go there.
16:51Don't go there.
16:52Don't go there.
16:56Don't go there.
17:03Smiho almost trying to put a spell of protection over a man here.
17:16And now lining up Tomohiroishi.
17:19No.
17:20What a drop kick.
17:21A rare drop kick from Tomohiroishi.
17:25Not want to throw a drop kick.
17:28But he is wanting Ishii to always come up with surprises for his opponents.
17:33Taichi definitely didn't see that one coming.
17:56Here we go.
17:58On his horse.
17:59Oh, and an answer.
18:00A drop kick.
18:01One of his own from Taichi.
18:05And you see those black sheep.
18:07A New Japan Pro Wrestling who came here.
18:10Younger in their careers.
18:11Throwing those young lion fundamental moves to those drop kicks.
18:19Trust kick.
18:20Ishii catches the boot.
18:21German suplex.
18:24Taichi rolls through.
18:25Almost imperious the pain.
18:27But Ishii drives it down with a layer.
18:29And a kick out of one.
18:38Oh, what an axe bomber.
18:44The head it is here if Taichi can get over to make the cover.
18:50He's got other plans in mind.
18:59Lots of offensive options for Taichi.
19:06But we'll go for this.
19:08Another dangerous back drop.
19:10There's the bridge.
19:11Oh, and no.
19:22Ishii, I think, might have a busted lip.
19:24I'm not sure.
19:30Certainly lumps coming up with all the strikes that have been dealt.
19:36And Black Mephisto on the way.
19:38Black Mephisto.
19:39Ishii wrinkles off the hook.
19:41Skull to skull.
19:42Mephisto is how he beat Naito.
19:44How he beat Suzuki in this building.
19:49Oh, and launching himself into Taichi.
19:52The ball and Ishii back on his feet.
19:54Oh, Taichi back on his feet.
19:55Oh, man.
19:57What an Inzi.
20:01Ishii crawling for the cover.
20:03Crawling for the cover.
20:05He's not crawling for the cover.
20:07He's thinking more offense.
20:12In the form of a sliding lariat.
20:15Got it.
20:16Traps the leg too.
20:18And oh, and both legs.
20:19A beautiful cover there by Ishii.
20:27And now calling for the vertical drop brain buster.
20:38Got him up.
20:39Got him up.
20:40Taichi.
20:40Oh, Taichi finding his way back down.
20:43Another one.
20:43Another coming.
20:54Oh, down.
20:56Boom.
20:57Man, that Hakuho.
20:58The elbow.
21:01The Okazuno elbow.
21:03And now.
21:05Karipurishi away.
21:07Black Mephisto.
21:08Black Mephisto center of the ring too.
21:11And Taichi has done it.
21:44Getting his G132 campaign off to the best possible start.
21:49All right.
21:51Joins Jay White at the top of B block.
22:05And now we know why Taichi was not looking forward to this matchup against Tomohiroishi.
22:13Because those two knocked holy hell out of one another.
22:17Taichi was able to get the win.
22:18Paid a big physical price though to get the win.
22:24And Ishii now drops to three and seven in tournament openers.
22:31And Ishii's got Switchblade Jay White coming up next on the 23rd.
22:39And with only six matches in the block, it's not win or go home.
22:46But Chris, it's almost a must win situation now in Stone Pitbull.
22:50But definitely tough set of circumstances for Ishii.
22:56Taichi next will have Sanada in Ota next Sunday in a must win situation for Sanada.
23:06But for now, celebration for Taichi and celebration for Miho Abe.
23:14And celebration for Miho Abe.
23:39ishרizade me that has will be here.
23:47That's great.
23:52Keep it that's awesome.
23:54And that's great.
23:55Ishii, La Jatteau.
24:03c'est ce qu'il y a des rippe cage
