01:03Marquez taking another step towards MotoGP greatness to GOAT status as he looks to hone in
01:10on an eighth MotoGP World Championship. Green flag then clears at the back, are you ready for the
01:16journey into the unknown here in Japan? Lights out and we're racing in MotoGP here in Mettegi,
01:23a bit of a wheelie as he paddle to Ducati through the gears from Mark Marquez from the factory GP26.
01:28It's Martin that will lead the field into the first corner Pedro Acosta slow off the line once again
01:33on the factory KTM he's back in fifth place picked up already by Alex Marquez. Look like Iogura was
01:39attacking early I think he's made up a couple of places as Acosta looks to try and fight back on
01:43Alex Marquez who is up to fourth place and of course crucial he made early ground with two
01:48long lap penalties to cut. Unlike yesterday sprint the field safely through turn three that's where
01:53Alex collected Pedro Acosta and the Gelantonio yesterday on the first lap of the sprint so Martin
01:59then in position A. Martin leads it from Mark Marquez heavy braking into turn...
02:04Gelantonio from sixth down to 11th. Another bad start by Pekka Banyai, 13th up inside the
02:09top 10 into ninth place like Sankyap Chantra was uh tumbling towards the back end of the pack as
02:15well well there's been some early mistake uh by the Thai rider it's been the perfect first lap though
02:19so far hasn't it for the world championship lead at Martini on power of the factory Aprilia out of
02:25turn 10. That's where he was on the green on the last lap yesterday and dropped back to third place
02:30in
02:30the sprint. And of course with the unknown of having not done many laps on this hard rear tire
02:34how aggressive how keen dare Acosta and that's opened the door and opened the eyes for Ralph
02:40Fernandez to do the same. Acosta's really struggling here isn't he just when he can't get temperature
02:45in that front or the rear tire or both and with the full fuel tank as well Acosta reversing the
02:51wrong
02:51way here isn't he now you can see Uguro has jumped all over the rear tire of the factory KTM.
02:56Yeah weren't expecting this were because as Jack said before the race the big unknown was Acosta she
03:01didn't do any laps in the sprint yesterday after he was taken out but he is going backwards and
03:05continuing to career backwards that is the third move in five corners penalty which will please Marco
03:10Betzechi he's starting to come into pressure from it. Just saw a snap there from Acosta's hard rear
03:15tires he was on the gas trying to pick up some drive coming out of turn two just wondering whether
03:20he's just a
03:20little bit cautious and not sort of willing to push too hard stick his neck out too much before he's
03:27got
03:27full confidence that that rear tire has come up to optimal working temperature because there was a big
03:31twist there as he grabbed a handful of gas coming out of two. Nothing wrong with the confidence of Jorge
03:35Martin though at this stage he's pulled out a half a second lead over Marc Marquez that is your top
03:40four
03:40from the helicopter shot Martin, Marc Marquez, Marco Betzechi and Alex Marquez. All of his hard work
03:45earlier will be undone by the two long laps which is going to cost him the thick end of what
03:49five
03:50or six seconds you feel into the victory corner turn 14 on the factory Aprilia goes the world
03:57champs leader Martin what will be Martin's advantage over the line it's now over half a second the two
04:03factory Aprilia's uh really got some early speed on that hard rear tire the heat resistant reinforced
04:09mixed in rear tire because now Betzechi as fast as that pace from Betzechi the 43.6 and when you
04:14look at Acosta
04:15on that last up a cost from the factory KTM uh was exactly a second slower here's a replay of

04:22start these uh fighter jets mother GP bikes launching away already looking at 20 or kilometers an hour
04:31in the blink of an eye Jorge Martin from a standing start uh to the point where he hit the
04:36brakes for the
04:37very first time so what is it they accelerate these mother GP bikes Alex Marquez does dive in
04:43uh to the long lap penalty loop for the narrowest of the campaign surely through there and he's just
04:48about to drop across the moza follow spaniard Ralph Hernandez less than two seconds about a GP bike
04:54uh will ping you through the air at zero to 100 kilometers an hour only lost one place at the
04:59end as
05:00result of that second and in less than 235 meters that is what the longest and certainly the strongest
05:07braking zones on the grand prix calendar the top three all exchange fastest laps of the race Jorge
05:14Martin 143.6 Mark Marquez betters it with a 143.5 Betzechi betters them both with a 143.495 it
05:22is a three-way fight
05:24for victory in this Japanese grand prix and it is between we saw yesterday of the two riders Zarco and
05:29Alex Marquez who had a double long lap trouble after their indiscretions earlier on in the weekend
05:35Zarco has just completed the second of his two laps and as you can see that's dropped the Frenchman all

06:42Marquez that is emerging as the big story in this year's title fight and it's certainly emerging as the big
06:49story in this Grand Prix of Japan Mark Marquez now visibly closing in uh to Jorge Martin looks like
06:55he's comfortable he's confident he's understood what's underneath him Andre de Vizioso when Dovey was
07:01going toe-to-toe in a championship battle uh with Mark Marquez instructions then to yield to uh
07:06Andre de Vizioso the coding message from Ducati
07:10Thiago Morera has crashed out of this Grand Prix unfortunately there will be no double podium in
07:15Japan this weekend for the Brazilian uh memorable weekend for him but it's ended on that night
07:21fuck he'd be a professional Grand Prix motorcycle with a medal around his neck unfortunately it's the
07:26booby price today that former Rera as he trudges away in frustration having crashed out on the LCL Honda
07:31into turn nine absolute red hot pace in front of this Grand Prix Mark Marquez has just set the

07:44really good at the moment he's got good acceleration on a difficulty level it probably is rating 10 out
07:51of 10 isn't it to try and beat Mark Marquez but Martin's giving it a right good go back fastest
07:56laps again but it is now just a straight duel in Japan surely between Martin and Mark two Spaniards
08:03representing Italy Ducati versus Aprilia Marquez versus Martin looks like he's lining this one up
08:09as Mark Marquez into the V corner of turn nine he teeth that up a corner before and he lunges

08:14inside of Jorge Martin
08:17Mark Marquez then at the front for the first time here in Matejgi he has let Jorge Martin do all

08:24front running all the uh leading at the front for the first what 11 and a half laps but now
08:31it is
08:32Mark Marquez that decides that was his moment lovely crafted move through the left-hander of turn nine
08:39so now we pose the question Jorge Martina trying to take control of this and when he decides to go
08:44when he decides to pull the pin uh well he's so so good in these kind of scenarios he was

08:52the green paintwork so that'll be one count on a track limits infringement yeah looks like that just
08:59losing that bit of momentum as he came out of nine that just put a bit of daylight between himself
09:03and the 93 of Mark Marquez he's forced the mistake then he looked like he was trying to maybe tee

09:09move to come back at Mark Marquez got too close to the rear tire and then drifts out onto the
09:14green and that
09:14cost you your momentum all the way down to turn 10. Yeah they saw exactly that second they just move
09:20me through
09:20your picture into turn three he's 2.3 seconds uh behind Mark some battle this isn't it between
09:28Fernandez Agoura and the costume championship seldom does he let it slip through his grasp he has been
09:34here on so many occasions he's got uh over 100 race winning trophies uh to prove how good he is
09:43picture there's not going to be a hat-trick of successive victories here in Mettegi for Peko
09:47Bagnaia but he's doing a pretty good job of trying to uh save what uh to this point has been
09:53a rather
09:53tough weekend for the Italian he's currently circulating down in position to fight the leading
09:58positions in this Grand Prix since there's been the ban on the front hole shot device well this he's
10:04been threatening for some time it's just going to be a classic block pass there just sees the inside
10:08line make sure Agoura uh can't occupy the tarmac that Acosta has already seized so Pedro Acosta that has
10:15been coming Agoura trying to find a way straight back through but Acosta was as low as eighth place
10:21wasn't he he has certainly made inroads back towards Mark and Martin hasn't he but he's still just over
10:27a second 143 291 just as Jorge Martin began to creep towards him just when that gap was beginning
10:34to touch off a second Mark Marquez reaches into his deep deep bag of talent and pulls out the fastest
10:40lap of the race he's the master tactician he is just on arrival when it comes to
10:46strategy being told has rejoined the race oh it's been a frustrating weekend hasn't it for Alex
10:50Mark and it started in such brilliant fashion it started in record-breaking fashion when he was
10:54inside the all-time lap record on Friday uh to leave one and taking out Digia and Pedro Acosta and
11:01getting
11:01himself a double long that was finally Acosta well he worked his way through on one track out
11:06Aprilia now he finds a way through on the second although Fernandes and Agoura are not going to let him
11:12have it all his own way here comes Fernandes brilliant it's a block pass he parks there
11:16probably in the middle of turn nine nothing that Acosta can do they go three abreast they go side by
11:22side Fernandes Acosta Agoura now top end of the circuit into ten well Fernandes did plenty of that
11:27yesterday didn't he as now Agoura takes the gap and you can hear the cheer from the thousands of
11:32Japanese fans as Agoura takes advantage KTM are going to be all going to be it's crowning at what
11:37we've just seen for Pedro Acosta but they'll be smiling what Bastionini's just done he's just at the
11:40fastest lap of the race surely you're not going to go on the outside Pedro Acosta by Agoura's never
11:44going to let that one happen Pedro Acosta he is some talent he is some rider isn't he just a
11:52second
11:52behind Marco Benteke for a podium we still have three laps to go well he should have probably had a
11:58podium
11:58yesterday shouldn't he Bastionini he is trying to right the wrongs this was the Bastionini
12:04trademark for so many years wasn't it in MotoGP of being so strong late in races is that trademark
12:10about to earn him an unlikely podium that second he's been in that top three right since the very
12:18first corner of this Grand Prix is he going to get done late on here uh by Bastionini who himself
12:24of
12:24course will be on board Naprilia next season he is clear he has got one more lap to go for
12:30what
12:30would be a fourth Japanese Grand Prix in MotoGP to go with the four world titles he's won here and
12:37put
12:37himself closer to potentially an eighth MotoGP crown he has produced so many magic moments down the years
12:44hasn't he here in Matteagi and he's too late can he find a way through on Bessecki he's running out
12:48of time
12:49he's running out of corners through turn nine the two Italians go it's still Bessecki in third he's got
12:55two opportunities i think from here one of them is here into turn 10 and he nearly ran into the
12:59back
13:00of Bessecki is he going to be it looks like Bessecki is going to win the battle of the Italians
13:04for the
13:05final place on the podium but through the victory corner the reigning world champion Marc Marquez goes
13:11it's going to be another victory in Matteagi for the Factory Ducati star Marc Marquez wins that here in
13:19Japan Hoy Martin takes second place Marco Bessecki does very soon for the reigning world champion in
13:28Hungary in Saxon Ring in Aragon in Misano and now with another Matteagi masterpiece the world champion does
