00:41density wine en tout温ond.
00:53Il s'agit d'une fitted newest d'un coup,
00:59C'est parti, c'est parti !
08:13Oh, non, non, shall we go, he says.
08:16Oh, he's going to drop it on the...
08:18Oh, you don't think, surely not.
08:20I had to believe he was thinking DDT, but then wanted more,
08:24and now getting even further away from the ring.
08:28Oh, I've got...
08:31Cesar, Taz and Bam Bam Bigelow in ECW.
08:35They might go through the ramp, Kevin.
08:39You can see the distance from the ring.
08:42Oh, no, no.
08:44Okada landing on his feet.
08:48Oh, no.
08:51Oh, no.
08:55Nah.
08:55Ah.
09:06A standing splash from Jonah puts Okada down,
09:10and now hammers him with his head as Okada retreats,
09:13heading back to the ring.
09:152, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.
09:31And she's in the ring.
09:31We hear his count.
09:33And Jonah will...
09:35Cooley Conley roll.
09:37Yeah, break it.
09:38There you go.
09:38Rolls in to break the count, to roll right back to the outside.
09:41Well, you don't get to be...
09:43Yeah, you get two points,
09:45but you don't get to be called the top dog.
09:47Oh, man!
09:49Everything goes flying.
09:51The leg falls out from underneath Abe's table at ringside.
09:56The barricade shake.
09:57The floor rumbles.
10:05Jonah wants more than just two points against Okada.
10:07He wants Okada's position to truly be...
10:14Not just the top guy in New Japan.
10:19Oh, no, no, no, no, no!
10:21Oh, my...
10:22Violently throwing Okada.
10:25Oh, no!
10:32He got a sense for just how big Jonah is.
10:36when he battled Jeff Cobb in Ehime.
10:39We have a picture in our mind of how big Jeff Cobb is.
10:43Jonah dwarfed Cobb at times.
10:48Oh, now look at that.
10:50Oh, spine first.
10:51That size, all that size, all that power,
10:54all that weight, all that force
10:57driving the air out of the lungs of the Rainmaker.
11:01And Okada, as well, a history of back troubles.
11:04Very well documented.
11:13And if Okada walks into this match with any designs
11:17on trying to body slam Jonah, I think he can throw that thought
11:25out of the window.
11:26Yeah, now this is where Okada's game plan has to switch, Chris.
11:30And while he doesn't want to get a roll-up win in two points,
11:34this is where you do whatever it takes to get those two points.
11:51There is an, there's like an awe around Jonah.
11:57Fans are just looking at him.
11:58For a lot of, for all of them, it's their first time seeing him live, probably.
12:05Especially in the G1 match.
12:11But you do marvel at the presence of Jonah.
12:18Sometimes you see those big guys and the order doesn't follow suit.
12:22But Jonah has every bit of that presence.
12:27Just slap the soul out of Kazuchika Okada.
12:34Came over from Australia.
12:38First began to make a name for himself, PWG.
12:41Signed to a WWE contract.
12:43Dominated NXT.
12:45Went on to become the North American Champion.
12:51And then a change of direction led Jonah down a different path.
12:55But the path that he always wanted to go, which was to New Japan.
12:59Yeah.
12:59And Jonah always, through that time as he was working in Australia
13:04and cultivating the Australian independent scene alongside
13:09Mikey Nichols and Shane Haste and Slex as well.
13:14Through their time in professional wrestling, Noah and Jonah always wanted to wrestle Okada.
13:18And there was a time when that match was on the slate and plans changed.
13:23And now here we are in 2022.
13:27After a long path through WWE and all sorts of other places.
13:31Now Jonah, he's had this match in his mind for half a decade, maybe more.
13:40And he's not going to let this chance slip through his fingers here tonight in Osa.
13:48When you think about all the years and all the toil that Jonah has put into this industry.
13:54He and Okada are about six months apart in age.
14:00Jonah very much just entering his wrestling prime.
14:09Absolutely crushing the chest of Okada.
14:11Now coming in.
14:12Oh, Okada gets out of the way.
14:13There you go.
14:14Exactly just like you said, Kevin.
14:16Take the roll up and get the win and get out of dodge.
14:20And there's that speed as well.
14:22When Jonah kicks out, firing off that short range, almost a year or uppercut.
14:3010 minutes already.
14:41Next five minutes are absolutely critical.
14:43Critical for Okada.
14:45He has got to do something to take some of the fight out of Jonah.
14:51He went big, went brisky.
14:54Up on the stage, nearly paid for it.
14:56Ducks the elbow, ducks the clothesline.
14:59Doesn't knock Jonah down.
15:03Here we go.
15:04Now he will.
15:07It took three to knock Jonah down.
15:14Normal humans, Okada knocks you down with one.
15:22There's the DDT.
15:25Okada having to use a lot of strength to execute any offense.
15:28Jonah kicks out at two.
15:33I'm sure Okada has game plan and has thought about it.
15:37Landslide may be out the window.
15:38Package pile driver, not so sure.
15:40Certainly can hit the Rainmaker, but will he rely on the money clip?
15:45No, he's going to...
15:45Oh no, still has that idea.
15:47Oh!
15:52Okada puts the brakes on...
15:54The trip on Jonah.
15:56Jonah snaps that neck across the second strand.
15:59There's a basement drop kick, my goodness.
16:02Jonah barely goes down.
16:03He rolls out.
16:06And that compounds the work that was done with the DDT on the neck.
16:11It's a big whiplash effect of having Okada come in at the side of your head rather than full frontal.
16:1830 boy, huh?
16:19How about I slap the shit out of you, huh?
16:22Now Tito perhaps.
16:23So much for Tito's claim.
16:25Oh no, there goes bad dude Tito.
16:27Tito is coming over to buy some time for Jonah.
16:30There's the DDT on the floor.
16:33Yeah, Tito for the first time in this entire tournament, knowing that his boy was in big trouble.
16:41But it all backfired on him when he tried to buy some time for Jonah there.
16:55And Okada who used that DDT on the floor all throughout last year's tournament where he just suffered the one
17:04defeat.
17:06And now Jonah's going to have to try to get back up and get back into this fight.
17:15Oh, look at this. Oh no, Okada's going to fly!
17:21Picture perfect, Tope Konohila.
17:23He might be the best high flying wrestler in the world too.
17:27How?
17:29After everything Okada's gone through already, that Tope got unbelievable.
17:40Jonah was needing bad dude Tito for a little extra help to get back to his feet.
17:45Okada saw it, took advantage of it, and scored.
17:50Go big or go home.
18:06And now the DDT in the ring, the DDT on the floor, that's Hopek Konohila.
18:11Okada is starting to build some momentum here, and everything Jonah had early on is slipping away.
18:21And now calling for a body slam, and even Redchu is questioning it.
18:25Let's see.
18:26Good idea. One leg, he got one leg up.
18:36And the Osaka crowd trying to help Okada.
18:40Oh my God, what a spear.
18:45Oh, crushed him. Senton, center of the ring.
18:49Two, and almost three.
19:00Can't begin to imagine what it must feel like to look up and see that mass of humanity just crash
19:08down on your chest.
19:09It's possible.
19:11Now as I told you, when the ten minute mark happened, the next five minutes critical for Okada.
19:15Those next five minutes were all undone in about 30 seconds.
19:20And now Jonah trying to get wide.
19:23Oh no, oh no, oh no!
19:25Did Okada find the strength for that?
19:28But again, again, given it's that lower back.
19:33And it took the best part of a year for Okada to get past those lower back problems.
19:38They've all flared up again.
19:40It started with being driven into the guardrails in the ring post.
19:48And I wonder whether that obsession with trying to lift Jonah is going to cost him dearly.
19:54Not just in this match, but down the stretch in the tournament for the rest of the year, for the
19:58rest of his career.
20:05And now, tying him up and applying the money clip, trying to get it seated.
20:11Seated, let's see. And Jonah's down to a knee.
20:19And beat. Bad luck, Farley.
20:29Jonah standing up.
20:38Oh, the shotgun dropkick.
20:46And as time goes by, Kazuchika Okada going to rely on that superhuman conditioning.
20:54Where we've seen him go 30, 40, 50, 60 minutes and beyond.
21:00If Jonah has a weakness, it is in that conditioning as this match gets closer to 20.
21:06Well, say it like this. There's a more clear advantage for Okada in that regard than Jonah.
21:11Jonah's not built on the surface to go 30. Probably has the wind to do so.
21:16Unbelievable!
21:17But wrestling Okada for 30, that's something else.
21:20He just wasted him to the top rope.
21:26Thinking about that dropkick.
21:28Jonah shoos him away.
21:30Jonah shoos him away.
21:30What's Jonah thinking?
21:31What's Jonah thinking?
21:32Oh my God!
21:33Oh my God!
21:40Listen to this crowd.
21:42To the larry.
21:44And almost gets it done!
22:00Some say that Kazuchika Okada is the best wrestler in the world.
22:05Well, here's your introduction to the top dog.
22:08Oh, wait a minute!
22:10Yes!
22:12Dropkick!
22:14Measured it perfectly, timed it out exactly right.
22:17The dropkick.
22:22Again, again though, again though.
22:24This time, no!
22:25He got it!
22:26He got it!
22:26He gets the body slam.
22:28The ground shakes.
22:31With Jonah upon landing.
22:45Sometimes Okada coolly, calmly deposits his opponent.
22:49And then marches to the top.
22:52Now the soaring elbow after an epic struggle just to get to the top rope.
23:09Let's see what, if Jonah has an answer for this.
23:13Three maker.
23:13No.
23:14Swing and a miss.
23:15Dropkick.
23:19Dropkick again from Okada.
23:23And Jonah, that's where the size works against you.
23:26It's like trying to stop a freight train.
23:28As Okada primes for that dropkick,
23:30there was no way for Jonah to avoid it.
23:33Once he was in motion.
23:34Here we go.
23:35Here we go.
23:36Here we go.
23:39Jonah pulls himself free.
23:43Oh, wait a minute.
23:44Oh!
23:45And he hung on.
23:50Somehow he hung on.
23:52And now, here we go.
23:55Rainmaker, no!
23:57Jonah swinging and missing.
23:59Spitting Rainmaker, no!
24:00Both arms track.
24:01Oh!
24:02Ah!
24:14Ah!
24:14Ah!
24:14Every strike from Jonah elicits another ooh or an ah from the crowd.
24:20Here he comes.
24:21Yeah!
24:22Oh, brother!
24:22Another dropkick that time.
24:24No!
24:25No!
24:25And it is...
24:26Oh!
24:27Not over!
24:28It's not over!
24:31And Osaka can't believe it.
24:3320 minutes.
24:3420 minutes.
24:35Now we're 20 minutes in.
24:38Jonah is immovable, but Okada may well be irresistible.
24:42Irresistible.
24:54Yeah!
24:57Yeah!
24:59Yeah!nova!
25:06C'est parti !
25:12Oh non !
25:29On to the second turnbuckle there.
25:31Got a grapevine.
25:34And Jonah having to protect his side.
25:37And now Okada.
25:39Jonah's kind of stuck there.
25:41And has to give up the rope.
25:44Okada, Okada !
25:45Oh my god !
25:47Powerball !
25:50And now, here we go !
25:53Black Forest bombed !
25:54Oh my god !
25:56He's going up Kevin !
25:57Listen !
26:00Tor !
26:02Tito !
26:1121 minutes 53 minutes !
26:15Jonah's勝利 !
26:22Oh my god !
26:26A roar ran up from the crowd.
26:29There was...
26:31A section on their feet.
26:34For Jonah.
26:36And now...
26:38There are some more Okada supporters storming to the exit.
26:44And it is...
26:45As reminiscent...
26:47As reminiscent...
26:48As seen...
26:51As Vader beating Inoki in 87.
26:54As I can recall in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
26:59And the top dog has proven that he is just that.
27:07Okada's time alone at the top of A block has come to an end.
27:14As Jonah...
27:15Has defeated...
27:17Kasachika Okada.
27:18There is no more Paul,
27:19Do you want to see...
27:25Do you want to see...
27:26in the position and who can't go...
27:28What's all good...
27:30I get a heartburn from...
27:32I'm kidding...
27:33I'm kidding...
27:34So you can get that...
27:36You can do it...
27:37It's a game again...
27:47Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
28:08Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
28:39You see, one year ago, I was given some news. I was told no, and it was heartbreaking. And for
28:48many, that would keep them down, but not for me.
28:51I have fighting spirit, just like all of you in Japan.
28:58And one year later, to the day, I beat the best wrestler in the world.
29:10You see, I don't see time as a linear thing. No, the past, the present, and the future are all
29:21happening at once.
29:22And they say, if you shine a light bright enough, it will be seen for millions and millions of years.
29:30And tonight, I shine the brightest light ever when I beat Okada.
29:35And it will be remembered forever.
29:42Because I am the best super heavyweight in the world.
29:47I am the top dog.
29:49Look, I am mighty, and the mighty don't kneel.
30:06Ladies and gentlemen, mark this day down in history.
30:10We have just witnessed a seismic shift at the top of New Japan Pro Wrestling.
30:19Jonah, with a career-defining win.
30:25Jonah has defeated Kazuchika Okada to move it to a tie at first place in the A Block.
30:34They will be talking about this one, Chris, for years to come.
30:40What an unbelievable moment.
30:42You heard it straight from the top dog's mouth.
30:46The universe has a crazy way of working things out.
30:50And perhaps it was all destined for Jonah to sit at the top of the world.
30:57Lance Archer, next.
