00:00Internal medicine deals with extremely complex patients in which, in addition to the clinical complexity, there is also the
00:08social welfare
00:09and therefore we take care of patients and internal medicine must be recognized at an adequate level of intensity
00:17for this reason we wanted an institutional round table in which we invited representatives of the Ministry of Health and Agenas
00:25precisely to discuss organizational prospects with them.
00:33The biggest challenge is to respond to the needs of our patients and citizens because we live in a society in
00:43including aging, comorbidities
00:47they are a challenge both in terms of sustainability at the national health system level and in terms of clinical ownership
00:55that we want to play an important and fundamental role because that is what we already do.
01:01The gaze on the future cannot be dissociated from the gaze on the present.
01:06so it means that we will continue in a line of promoting continuous education
01:12so being here today and in the next few days means updating, it means focusing together again
01:20in those which are institutional issues alongside those of scientific research and clinical data
01:27in a path that is divided into different sessions, in different types of activities.
01:35If we look at innovation, the evolution of diagnostic technology is certainly
01:40but also the role of artificial intelligence that is so much talked about
01:43and from a more clinical point of view, certainly the intensity of care.
01:48Understanding that hospitals now exist, offer, are called to offer an intensity of care
01:55particularly high for increasingly complex, increasingly comorbid patients
01:59and therefore also an update on what the clinical activity of the internist is.
02:06I hope that the needs of internal medicine will emerge from this congress.
02:14but at the same time also the recognition of what internal medicine already
02:19is doing for all patients and for the national health system
02:22as well as an ever-increasing sense of belonging among our members to the company.
02:30Internal medicine cannot stand still.
02:33We know that internal medicine is the most represented discipline
02:37in Italian hospitals of all levels
02:40and therefore must absolutely follow the progress and evolution
02:44of what is medical science and technology.
02:48Thank you all.
