00:00Of all the modern stuff on the day, all the tech on the market today, be it zero torque cutters,
00:06the modern solid core bore, hybrids, modern graphite shafts, if I could give you one of those to head back
00:13to the late 80s, early 90s, and you could play with that when other people couldn't, what one bit of
00:19modern tech would you take back to your day now?
00:22The most obvious, the greatest invention was the interchangeable shaft, wasn't it? You change the shaft in five seconds. Seriously,
00:29it was an overnight glue job in my day. You had to sit and wait for the glue, come back
00:33the next day for it. So that's the greatest invention. In fact, you can just keep changing shafts and then
00:39you can fine tune.
00:39So you can go and, you know, that couple with TrackMan in your launch monitors and go, wow, that's, you
00:46know, you're getting all your optimums right there in front of you, blimmin' eyes on the range. Again, we had
00:51to take it on the golf course, which was fun testing.
00:55And, you know, I used to take a dozen three woods and go and hit them and walk out there
01:00and find the one. I knew them all, balls were all numbered. So I did that at Wentworth one evening.
01:06I was on my way to Switzerland. So I went out there and there was a lovely hole on the
01:10east course. I loved, I think it's the 11th hole. So I hit all these three woods. I got all,
01:15seriously, six three woods, all the balls numbered, hit them all out there.
01:20And there was a member watching me and it was slightly uphill. And by the time I got there, he
01:25scooped them all into a pile in the middle of the fairway.
01:30Thank you very much, sir.
01:32And I was off to Switzerland. I think the next, I had to go with the one that just felt
01:37the best.
