01:23i've done it really well over the two games with it's not not normal for me but being a good

01:28it's the first and foremost the manager asked for you but you could have all the ability in the world
01:32but you need to be a good teammate as well and i feel like i do that every time i'm

01:38i'm passionate you know and all i want is for me is i love watching playing and if i'm watching

03:48becomes quite regular and um no they've always been a great nation with uh great players and
03:55joško and cover um you know playing and at city you know on the prem and um yeah at a

04:02but it's not just them too you've got modric still playing you know credit to them perisic you know
04:07the you can see the work they're putting just to stay in that high level at that age so it's

04:28memories uh maybe best or of course worst memories when we talk about playing against croatia yeah i
04:35think it's always a good competitive match uh we we know we lost in the 2018 world cup against them
04:41but you know we're looking past uh recent history and we've always played well against them and got
04:47them results that we've needed to get and our last game was against them in the world cup in the
04:52first
04:52game and it was 4-2 the win so it was it was a good game good competitive game and
04:57that that's what
04:58in the nation's league now we're in pot one and you're always going to be playing against good
05:02competition and it's about i've just said before it's about being the best version of us as england
05:12hi jordan the manager said that he was giving james trafford these games to see the level he was
05:19you're obviously number one but what do you think that competition for places could do for you to
05:24bring something else out of you in in your game yeah i feel for me personally i feel it's always

05:31to have good competition it always drives me for more i've always said that in interviews in past i've
05:35always wanted competition to push push my ceiling higher um and get through that and ever since i've
05:43been and since i made my debut in 2017 we've always had that competition we've always had a good crop

05:48goalkeepers from england now you know coming through playing a lot of games so i would say it's a credit
05:53of credit of the english goalkeepers you know having that that high standard of keepers coming through
05:58and with me that continue for longer do you think you needed this refresher to get a bit more
06:04to remind you what it's like to fight for the place you play pretty much every game i'll always
06:08i'll always push myself at club to to be the best version of yourself because you know you you i
06:14might
06:14have 91 caps but you you don't get picked on that you've got to keep performing so i'll always perform
06:19at the club i'll always put the work in to be the best version of me to uh keep getting
06:23them caps
06:24because so i'll always know there's competition there you can't let your the foot off the gas at any
06:28time you want to push yourself and push to be who i want to be
06:36the second half against croatia at the world cup was the managers to refer to that a lot about
06:42probably being some of the best football you played in the whole competition i just wonder
06:47do you do you agree with that and sort of what made it so good yeah i think yeah i
06:51think it's visible
06:52to see how um how aggressive we were in the second half and we didn't let the foot off the

06:57in the second half against croatia i think it was quite our first group game you know it's gonna
07:04be a bit edgy first 25 minutes first half it's the first group game of a world cup so
07:09i can completely understand like where that came from because people making the world cup debut at such
07:15a big stage of the world like the world stage of football in the world cup so it was always
07:20going to
07:20be probably a bit cagey even though we wanted to we wanted the second half to be in the first

07:24because that was a standard we set ourselves in no but the the subs the manager brought on the change
07:29we did in the second half was yeah it was it was a top 45 and there's been a bit
07:35of um focus on the
07:37defensive record i think it's five clean sheets in 13 games 14 games something like that i haven't got
07:42the exact stat um do you think there's an issue with the defending in general no i think i just

07:48for me you know that in the world cup eight games i think we played was that right yeah yeah

07:54games in the world cup you're playing against every nation you're playing against they're there or merit
07:58they've got to qualify and get through a process so you're playing against top nations top you know
08:04from different continents all over the world you know oppose different threats and no i think yeah
08:09five and 13's not too bad i think we want more we know we can probably strive for more clean

08:16you know because we know if we get that solid base as a unit we know what we've got going
08:21forward so
08:21yeah probably a little bit more focus on maybe keeping clean sheets and to give that opportunity
08:27to go forward but i think we're we're playing on a on a front foot basis now and it's more

08:34i know you're only 32 so this is probably a premature question but do you think about how long you

08:39go on for with england do you look at tournament cycles and think next world cup next euros how do

08:52these keepers you see how long before i'm played for you see no you're just retiring for national
08:57team at 40 year old and um still playing at the highest level so you've seen them them do it

09:03it's about me focusing on myself keep pushing and hitting them targets i want to achieve you know
09:08i set goals small goals and you know each chapter comes along and i'll set new goals
09:13so for me it's about pushing them boundaries and keep improving day in day out on and off the field
09:20to be the best version of myself and i'll never stop until i stop 40 do you think you could

10:20they're put in around the place and that's why he gets all the goals and the rewards he does
10:24so it'll be it'll be great for harry if he gets it and i know he's got another two games
