00:04It comes from my personal history. I was born in Italy to Brazilian parents,
00:08I had to wait 22 years to become a citizen, to finally be recognized by the State too
00:13as an Italian citizen, even though I did all my schooling here
00:17and has actually always grown in Italy. From this point on, the desire to get together,
00:22to be many, to try to change this narrative and also to debunk many fake news.
00:27The project then also became a book and let's say that through the book there was more opportunity
00:32to move,
00:33to get to know each other, to create the network I was talking about before and this is an incredible asset
00:37because actually when you look someone in the face, you know the story, it's a little easier
00:42overcome fear, overcome the fear of something that is perceived as different, unknown
00:46and instead often when you chat, you meet someone, this fear vanishes.
00:51So the aim of this project is this, to try to tell the theme of citizenship for what it is,
00:55try to explain what the differences are in the life of a person who has a residence permit
01:00and what changes instead by having citizenship.
01:02So we try to do it in a very simple way, by telling ourselves, by telling our experiences,
01:06our testimonies and hoping that this issue will finally be discussed in the right way.
