00:05Identifying the source of our dreams is crucial because it determines our response.
00:11From the outset, we remember that not every visionary experience is from God,
00:16just as not every thought or sense impression is from God.
00:20Most of our dreams are natural, as reflections of ourselves,
00:24they tend to rehash the happenings of our lives.
00:27This is one important way God-dreams are different.
00:31They often present a new angle or idea that contrasts to our way of thinking.
00:36But there is more to recognizing a God-dream.
00:40We need to test our experiences to see if they're from God.
00:44Testing is necessary because we don't see clearly.
00:48While we need the confidence to know we can hear God's voice in dream visions,
00:53we also need the humility to know we can get it wrong.
00:56God's revelation is pure, but ours is not.
01:00Our experiences are filtered through our mindsets, experiences, and desires.
01:06That's why every claim to revelation must be tested.
01:10Ultimately, the message of an authentic God-dream will always sound like Jesus.
01:15It will be consistent with everything he said and did as recorded in Scripture.
01:21To improve our discernment of God's voice in dream visions,
01:25we need to get to know Jesus well,
01:27to read about his life and teachings and become familiar with his nature and character.
01:33A true God-dream will also be confirmed through the witness of others
01:37and followed by signs of God's powerful and loving presence.
01:41God is able to make his visionary messages clear because he wants to be heard.
01:46And he wants to be heard so that we can heed his call to follow in the way of Jesus.
01:52Reflect.
01:53Have you ever had a God-dream?
01:55How did the message reflect the heart of God as seen in Jesus?
02:00Pray and journal.
02:02God teach me your ways and help me to follow in the way of Jesus.
02:09God teach me your ways and help me to follow in the way of Jesus.
