00:01On se donc l'aider sur le match.
00:08Munoise Suzuki du coup, Will Osprey, c'est le match sur le match.
00:20C'est parti !
00:43It seems like Taichi is poised
00:45to really be in the money
00:47in the conversation at tournament's end
00:49and perhaps to play spoiler
00:52or who knows, to win the whole block.
00:56No, 100%, Kevin.
00:58I feel like Taichi has wrestled
01:00the best that he has wrestled in years.
01:03He's focused.
01:05He's delivering.
01:06I mean, we've always said
01:08when a motivated Taichi
01:10is a dangerous Taichi,
01:12he's had solid game plans
01:14each and every night.
01:16I mean, he's definitely in the money
01:19to possibly, like you said,
01:23be in the conversation
01:24at the very end of this tournament
01:26and he's definitely turning heads
01:28on his way.
01:33I don't know, Kevin.
01:34I feel like we could,
01:36it very possibly could be
01:38the first time that we see Taichi
01:40in the G1 Climax final.
01:42You already captured the IWGP
01:44Heavyweight Tag Team Championships
01:46this year
01:47and Taichi's certainly building
01:49on that success.
01:51You made some controversial,
01:53almost scandalous remarks
01:54the other night, Rocky,
01:56saying that Taichi doesn't
01:57actually sing,
01:58that he's lip syncing
01:59and not well,
02:00that the microphone
02:00is not even equipped
02:02to project sound
02:03in a wireless fashion.
02:04Do you wish to take
02:05those statements back?
02:07Absolutely not.
02:08It's one,
02:09it's true.
02:16You realize you're going to
02:18continue to hear it
02:19from the Holy Emperor fan base.
02:21Bring it on.
02:24All right, well,
02:25will Taichi be singing another tune
02:27or will he have more points
02:29on his side of the ledger?
02:32A great rival for Taichi
02:34is his opponent here tonight,
02:37Tomohiro Ishii.
02:38similar roads traveled
02:40between these two
02:41in their rise to prominence
02:44in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Rocky.
02:47Yeah, very, very similar.
02:50Both not starting
02:51in the dojo system.
02:53They weren't young lions
02:54in New Japan.
02:56Both starting outside
02:57of New Japan
02:59in more of the
03:00all Japan style system.
03:03Taichi actually being a graduate
03:05of the all Japan dojo
03:06and obviously his mentor
03:09being Toshiaki Kawada
03:10and for Ishii,
03:15starting with WAR
03:16under the Tenryu.
03:19Obviously Tenryu
03:20was a long-time competitor
03:22in all Japan.
03:23So that really,
03:24that King's Road style
03:25is very within their DNA.
03:29is very within their game.
03:34Ishii started 0-3
03:35but got a victory
03:36the other night
03:37over Shingo Takagi.
03:4026 minutes
03:41and one second.
03:43The longest A block
03:44match to this point.
03:46And the 15th longest
03:48G1 block match
03:50all time
03:51to go to a finish.
03:56So two points
03:57for Ishii.
03:59You have to start
04:00to think Kevin
04:01of all the battles
04:02that Ishii has been through
04:04through all the years.
04:05If they're starting
04:06to finally
04:06catch up with him.
04:09You know,
04:09like he's really
04:10struggled so far
04:11to get
04:12the first two points.
04:14He really struggled hard
04:15this whole tournament.
04:17and it makes me think
04:20that maybe
04:22maybe just the wear and tear
04:23is starting to
04:24to really break Ishii down.
04:35We see for the first time
04:36in this tournament
04:37that Ishii has a wrap
04:38on his right knee.
04:40And right knee
04:41had given him some issue
04:42during World Tag League.
04:44Red Shoes Uno
04:45will be the official
04:46for our semi-final
04:48match here.
04:50Tomohiro Ishii
04:51versus Taichi.
05:04Head to head
05:05Ishii and Taichi.
05:07Ishii's got the edge
05:08four to one
05:08but Taichi getting
05:09the first victory
05:10in singles action
05:12over Tomohiro Ishii
05:15last year.
05:16at the end of the
05:18G1 Climax Tournament.
05:19The bell sounds
05:2030 minutes are on the clock
05:21and we're underway.
05:32Taichi making
05:33Ishii wait.
05:36you know exactly
05:37what you're going to get
05:38from the stone pitbull
05:39each and every time.
05:43And Taichi
05:44a much more aggressive
05:45Taichi throughout
05:46this tournament
05:47and starts with a boot
05:49catches Ishii
05:50by surprise.
05:51Slings him into the corner
05:52Ishii fires out.
06:10I know Taichi's right-footed
06:12but I would start going
06:14and using the left leg
06:16to go after that
06:18right knee
06:19of Ishii.
06:30What an exchange here.
06:36Each absorbing
06:37the other strikes
06:39Taichi with the legs
06:40Ishii with the chops
06:42into the chest.
06:43Uh-oh.
06:44Uh-oh.
06:48Uh-oh.
06:51Ishii grits his teeth
06:52swallows the pain
06:52comes back
06:53but Taichi able
06:54to put him down.
07:02As that quad begins
07:03to knot up
07:05and the pain level
07:06just gets so
07:07that you can't
07:07stand it anymore
07:09Ishii finally collapsed
07:11and now Taichi
07:13slings him out
07:13to the floor.
07:16Disadvantaged Taichi
07:17out here
07:22into the barricade
07:23you see the reddening
07:25of the chest
07:26of Taichi
07:27all those strikes
07:28from Ishii.
07:31Ishii's gonna be
07:32completely immobile
07:33in this match
07:34Kevin
07:34that way
07:35the right knee
07:36is all taped up
07:37and now
07:38the left
07:39hamstring
07:40and quad
07:41and the bell hammer
07:42yes
07:43from the timekeeper's
07:45table
07:45an all too familiar
07:47weapon that Taichi
07:47has used repeatedly.
07:57well Rechu's
07:58really
08:01letting a lot
08:02go there
08:04catching Taichi
08:05using that bell hammer
08:09a slow start
08:10point wise
08:11for Tomohiro Ishii
08:12who's averaged
08:128.8
08:14points
08:15over the course
08:16of his last
08:16five G1 tournaments
08:17he's gonna have to win
08:18four of his last
08:19five
08:21to improve
08:22upon that average
08:25and from the ring
08:26post rolled back
08:27in
08:27and Rechu's
08:28is not going
08:29so this is where
08:30Rechu's gets even
08:31he'll let you
08:32have your way
08:33on the floor
08:34but then when you
08:34get back into the ring
08:35and not only that
08:36Taichi
08:36is also choking
08:39Ishii
08:44so Taichi
08:45up to his
08:45old tricks
08:51Kevin we've seen
08:52these two
08:53have some
08:54just
08:56down and out
08:57battles
08:57over the years
09:02and the New Japan
09:03Cup last year
09:04and then at Dominion
09:05over the
09:06Never title
09:07and the G1
09:09we would say
09:11often say
09:12that Ishii
09:12would bring out
09:13the best
09:14out of Taichi
09:16but I gotta say
09:17Taichi has been
09:18performing
09:19at an all time
09:20best
09:21in this G1
09:24almost he doesn't
09:25need Ishii
09:26to make him
09:27step up anymore
09:28he's already
09:29stepped up
09:30on his own
09:31yeah because of their
09:32similar background
09:33it felt like
09:34Taichi was extra
09:35motivated
09:35when he'd fight
09:36Ishii
09:37and then sometimes
09:38would rely on
09:41his old tricks
09:42and tactics
09:43and wouldn't stand
09:44and fight
09:44against anybody else
09:45here he goes
09:47for a cover
09:47against Ishii
09:48a bit of a
09:50lackadaisical
09:50cover there
10:05their first
10:06singles encounter
10:06in New Japan
10:07goes all the way
10:08back to 2009
10:12at that time
10:13Taichi part
10:14of the junior
10:15heavyweight division
10:20and it looks like
10:21Ishii may have
10:21had enough
10:28now he goes
10:29after the knee
10:30of Taichi
10:30but an elbow
10:31frees him
10:33power slam
10:34big power slam
10:46so Ishii
10:47who had been
10:48on the receiving
10:48end of some
10:49Taichi punishment
10:50now turns things
10:51around
10:54and the menacing
10:55presence of
10:56the stone pit bull
11:05that ten rule
11:06light combination
11:07in the corner
11:09forearm
11:10chop
11:11forearm
11:12chop
11:12forearm
11:13chop
11:18chop
11:19he won't let him
11:19fall down
11:20drags him back up
11:21so he can beat on him
11:21some more
11:24who's the man on there
11:32Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
12:03And Ishii absorbs the reversal
12:07And puts Taichi down
12:10If Taichi was smart
12:12He'd make Ishii start running on those legs
12:14On those knees
12:19Taichi's toughness certainly prominent
12:21He did not submit to Okada
12:24And the money clip
12:25And it was a referee stoppage
12:27Taichi was out
12:29Denies the back suplex
12:31Taichi gets the boot up
12:32Ishii charges back in
12:42The head kick fails Ishii
12:45As Taichi will take some time
12:51One thing I've noticed Kevin and I don't know if you'll agree with me
12:54Is now we're starting to see I think
12:57The wear and tear of this tournament
12:59Overall
13:00Kind of affect everyone's performance a little bit
13:03Everyone seems to be just a little
13:05Step slower than how they first started out
13:08They're starting to feel the effects of being in the tournament
13:12The wear and tear
13:13You know
13:15Each match is starting to
13:18To affect just the physical performance
13:21I would agree
13:22And we're at the midway point
13:24Oh big knee
13:27Oh man
13:28That head kick
13:35One of the great weapons for Taichi
13:40He has just had an answer for everything
13:43That Ishii has thrown
13:47Taichi showing that
13:49His tournament didn't peak with the early victory over Minoru Suzuki
13:54Chris Charlton loves this part
13:56Ishii not too big a fan
14:11Another head kick
14:12Damagiri lands
14:17Just when Ishii starts to fire up
14:20Look to get some offense going
14:21Taichi derails him again
14:27Yeah no
14:28This tournament has taken its toll on everyone tonight
14:31You can see it
14:33I'm telling you Kevin
14:34If Taichi keeps wrestling like this
14:37He's going to find himself
14:39In the finals of this tournament
14:41Without a shadow of a doubt
14:45And now the deep squat from Tomohiro Ishii
14:49Wow
14:49A lot of pressure on those legs though
14:52Yep
14:54Kawada style kicks
14:56Oh
14:59Okay
15:08At the 10 minute mark
15:10Yep
15:11Yep
15:11Just continues to have every single answer
15:16See where Taichi goes from here
15:18Could it be Axe Bomber
15:19Oh
15:20For the blind side
15:25Beautiful backdrop
15:26Suplex
15:36And now Taichi in the driver's seat here
15:42Looking to jump up into the lead of the block
15:48Here we go
15:49Black Mephisto
15:51Black Mephisto
15:53Ishii
15:54Prevents it
15:55Yeah
15:56It's going to be a big ask from Ishii with those
16:00Those compromised legs
16:08But he's got him up
16:09He's got him up
16:10He's got him up
16:11Buckle ball
16:16Taichi came forward
16:17Ishii puts him down
16:21Yeah Ishii's going to have to make Taichi come to him
16:25At this point
16:28But you see how unbalanced
16:31Ishii was
16:33That right knee
16:35And the damage from those low kicks to the left leg
16:40Are really affecting the Stone Pitbull tonight
16:43Now Taichi has not gotten Ishii running to your point earlier on
16:48But nevertheless
16:50He is on wobbly pins right now
16:55Ishii is
16:56Ishii
16:58Uh oh
17:03Shoving the referee away
17:04Looking for the low blow
17:05Ishii with an answer
17:07Swing and a miss
17:09Oh miss though
17:11Wow
17:11Ishii absorbed the buzzsaw kick
17:14And fails
17:15Taichi with a forearm
17:28And she's got to be thinking vertical drop brain buster
17:33First though powerbomb
17:34And he's able
17:40Stack him up
17:41Two
17:42Taichi's able to wriggle out
17:46I don't think he's got much left
17:48In that gas tank though
17:50Kevin
17:51Ishii's got to deliver that
17:53Vertical
17:54That vertical drop brain buster
17:56And he's got to do it quick
18:03Tightening that sleeve
18:04On the right arm
18:05Ishii's going to look for a lariat here
18:08I think that's a mistake
18:12Here we go
18:13On his horse
18:16Catches him with the left side
18:25Ishii on his toes
18:30And now starting to move
18:32Here we go
18:32Does he hit it
18:33Yes he does
18:34We got him though
18:37Took the risk
18:38It almost got him the victory
18:47Now's her time
18:49Vertical drop brain buster time
18:59Taichi collapsing
19:05Here we go
19:07Got him set
19:09Vertical drop brain
19:11No
19:12Taichi out the back
19:14Pushing Nuno into
19:15Oh come on
19:18Uh oh
19:19Uh oh
19:20Taichi clutch
19:21Taichi clutch
19:22Kevin
19:23Two
19:23And he
19:24Oh he kicked out
19:25I thought that was it
19:26It would have been a shame
19:27For Taichi to get the victory
19:29After the low blow
19:31Shoving the referee
19:32Into Ishi's path
19:45Taichi caught Ishii flush
19:46A blatant foul
19:47But the referee didn't see it
19:55And so now Ishii who
20:00Tempted the
20:03Vertical drop brain buster
20:05Is a long way from victory
20:06And the end could be near here
20:11Uh oh
20:15Last ride
20:17Last ride
20:18Toei
20:19She's able to kick out
20:28Fifteen down
20:29Fifteen to go
20:30And the time limit
20:36What a war this has been
20:39What a battle
20:58Rocky Taichi's measuring him
21:00Yep
21:01Oh
21:01Sidestep
21:03Under
21:05Oh big German suplex
21:07From
21:07Look at this
21:07Stone pitbull
21:08Holy crap Taichi's up
21:12Headbutt to the heart
21:17Brutal headbutt
21:21Taichi from a couple of years ago
21:23After that German suplex
21:24That would have been it for him
21:29But he was able to get back up
21:31Even if it was just for a moment
21:34Now Ishii looking
21:36To send Taichi
21:39Does
21:40And Taichi kicks out
21:41A one
21:43Axe bomber
21:48Swing and a miss
21:53Cover
21:54Two
21:55Oh a kick out
22:00This is definitely not
22:02The same Taichi
22:03From a few years ago
22:08Not at all
22:09Kevin
22:12This is a guy
22:14Right now
22:15Who looks like he could be
22:16At the very top
22:18Of New Japan Pro Wrestling
22:27Just one defeat so far
22:29That to Okada
22:31Where he refused to submit
22:34It had to be
22:35Via referee stoppage
22:45Axe bomber
22:46Oh countered
22:48Sabat lands
22:49Thrust kick
22:50No
22:52Oh Gamaguri
22:54Right to the face
22:56Ishii fires up
22:58He comes forward
22:58Hang on a second
23:00Trapped ahead
23:01Black Mephisto
23:02No
23:06Oh there it is
23:08Oh
23:08Beautiful Inzaguri
23:11Right to the chin
23:12Of Taichi
23:14And Ishii
23:16Trying to crawl over
23:19Forgoes the
23:20Pinning effort
23:21Wants to hit
23:22The sliding lariat
23:23Yep
23:23Here he comes
23:25Loaded up
23:25Gets it
23:26Traps it
23:27Two
23:28A kick out
23:29From Taichi
23:41Now the vertical drop
23:42Brain Buster
23:43Here we go
23:45And Ishii
23:48Hits it
23:50Vertical drop
23:52Brain Buster
23:53Vertical drop
23:53Brain Buster
23:54Cover
23:55Two
23:56And he gets him
24:18What a hard fought victory for the Stone Pitbull
24:22But more wear and tear
24:25On that body
24:26Kevin
24:37Yeah Ishii gets the win
24:39Another
24:40Incredibly grueling fight
24:42But a win nevertheless
24:54Taichi's so out of it
24:55Not realizing the match is over
25:16Well you can't get this block much tighter than it is now
25:24With our main event yet to go
25:29Six are at six
25:31Three are at four
25:37Nine of the ten
25:38In the A blocker
25:40Within two points of the lead
25:41Are tied for the lead
25:42But Tomohiro Ishii gets his second win in a row
25:45Here in the G1
25:55And how much are either man going to have for their next battle on Wednesday
26:02Taichi with Switchblade Jay White
26:05Ishii against Yujiro Takahashi
26:24And the hatred between these two continues
26:28What a battle
26:30Yeah you got a feeling it will never be over between
26:33Ishii and Taichi
26:37They just bring a different level out of each other
26:44I know Yano's your pick to win the whole thing
26:47But if Taichi won the G1
26:49Could you see him and Ishii
26:50Battling over the briefcase
26:52That would be something else
26:53Oh yeah
26:55Sure could
26:57I'm sure that
27:01Ishii and Taichi
