00:00Nous allons commencer par la fin de la fin de la fin de la fin de la fin de la
00:05fin de la fin.
00:47La fin de la fin de la fin de la fin.
01:00...
01:00It was about five years ago in England where Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada faced off a Red Cross Global
01:11Wars event.
01:12A match that impressed Kazuchika Okada even in defeat for Ospreay enough that Okada hand-picked Will Ospreay to come
01:21to Japan to join Chaos as part of the junior heavyweight division.
01:25Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
01:55Someone that you respect and someone that has mentored you
02:00I mean, you know, and just, I mean, if you're a competitor at this level
02:05You gotta wanna be at the top and, you know
02:09Kazuchika Okada sits at the very top of the food chain
02:13And to get there, you gotta beat somebody like the Rainmaker
02:18Now, this is a very different Rainmaker than we've seen over the last couple years competing in this tournament
02:23He's really put himself in a certain position to force
02:28You know, we've talked about it throughout the tournament
02:30To almost force this new maneuver
02:33Not relying on the Rainmaker of old
02:37You know, forcing the money clip
02:39Creating other ways to win
02:41Challenging himself and pushing himself yet again to another level
02:46But this is the guy
02:47This is what the whole world has been watching Kazuchika Okada for the last few years
02:54And let's see what it does
02:56I mean, tonight is where it all counts
02:58He needs to beat Will Ospreay here tonight in Rio Grande
03:01Rainmaker
03:02And now, Okada!
03:04And now, Okada!
03:05And Kazuchika!
03:07When Alexander the Cape was 32, he cried salt tears because there were no more worlds left to conquer
03:13As with Okada, at age 32, is facing the same dilemma
03:19How does he make things interesting?
03:21You know, it's like he's, he's started the same video game on New Game Plus without any of the good
03:26weapons
03:27So that he can still prove to himself that he is the best
03:31Still challenge himself because he is that level beyond
03:34The question is whether Will Osprey will push him further to the brink
03:38Than Kazuchika Okada would like
03:40So both men with a personal challenge and goal
03:44As we get set here for this all-important match
03:48Osprey looking to defeat a man that means so much to him
03:51For the very first time
03:53And Okada who has basically hindered himself in this tournament
03:58To challenge himself
03:59Who will come out on top of Bell Sounds
04:02And immediately a fast start from Osprey
04:06Wasting no time
04:07Wow
04:12You want to talk about starting with purpose
04:14Osprey
04:16It's Cheerio
04:17The Rainmaker down
04:19Marty Asani 2 and a kick out
04:23Hey this is going to be a round
04:26Oh my god
04:27They're stopping the Stormbreaker
04:28Okada
04:29Backdrops Osprey who charges forward
04:33Oh high kick
04:35Uh oh
04:36Oscutter
04:37No
04:39Money clip
04:41Money clip
04:50So into the ropes is Osprey
04:52That forces Okada to break the hole
04:54But that doesn't mean Okada's got to stop
04:58Osprey started this
04:59And Okada's going to look to finish this
05:01Whoa
05:01Wait a second
05:04Yeah we haven't seen Okada
05:06Fight at this pace
05:07This whole tournament
05:09He's been really cool
05:11Calm and collected
05:11Like he usually is
05:13And now he is
05:14Feeling the challenge
05:16And feeling the pressure
05:17I feel like
05:18Another look at that
05:19Draping DDT
05:20And Osprey
05:22With that
05:23Much reported
05:25Next situation
05:26Chris
05:27That
05:27I'm sure
05:28Has gotten better over time
05:30But is still not right
05:31Now that stack of dines
05:33Is that
05:34Long troubled
05:35Will Osprey
05:36And it's
05:37It's a thing that every wrestler has
05:39Is an expertise
05:40Will Osprey perhaps
05:41More than
05:42Some other competitors
05:45And
05:46Osprey
05:47Running fast
05:49And
05:50Rolls back in at 15
05:56Now Okada
05:58Rocky
05:58Does he keep the pace up
05:59Or does he slow it down
06:01I mean
06:02That's a tough one
06:04You know
06:04Against somebody like Osprey
06:06I don't know if you want to go too fast
06:09I feel like
06:10You want to control him
06:12Make him
06:12You know
06:13Go at your pace
06:14And Okada's so good at that
06:16Making his competitor
06:18Really adjust to the pace
06:20That Okada chooses to go
06:27Okada has
06:29Six wins
06:31And
06:3112 points
06:32And has not won
06:34With a rainmaker
06:36It has been a remarkable journey
06:38For Okada
06:39In this tournament
06:39Perhaps the quietest
06:4112 points
06:42That Okada
06:42Has ever gotten
06:43Chris
06:44Indeed
06:45He was
06:46Really under the gun
06:48In a lot of these matches
06:49When you think about
06:49His match with
06:50Mono and Suzuki
06:51Especially
06:52And he was being
06:54So controlled
06:56That's the position
06:57He was in
06:57He wanted to
06:58Challenge himself
06:59To this D1
07:01And I think
07:02You know
07:02More than once
07:03He found himself
07:04Kind of surprised
07:06Okada enters this match
07:08On a five match win streak
07:09The highest in the A block
07:11And tied with
07:11Evil Ensenada
07:12For the highest
07:13In the tournament
07:15Here's a cover
07:18And now Okada
07:19Going to clamp it on
07:20It's immediate
07:21Will Ospreay
07:22Throughout this tournament
07:23Has been so good
07:24And so effective
07:25Even when the matches
07:26He's lost
07:26He's used his opponent's
07:28Finishing moves
07:29Against them
07:29He's always found
07:30A counter
07:31And you know
07:32I think that could be
07:33A real danger
07:34For Will Ospreay
07:34Because we've seen
07:35Other wrestlers
07:36Get out of that
07:37Money clip before
07:38And that could be
07:40An issue
07:40I think
07:40You know
07:41If Okada
07:41Wants a guaranteed win
07:42He's going to have
07:43To go for a rainmaker
07:44Not a short arm
07:45Clothesline
07:46Not a Discus Lariat
07:46But a rainmaker
07:48Oh what a backdrop
07:53I would agree with you Chris
07:55I think that
07:56That Okada
07:58Is going to need
07:59To use the rainmaker
08:00In this situation
08:01To put Ospreay away
08:02And definitively
08:04At this point
08:05I mean there's just
08:06Too much on the line
08:07And he needs to secure
08:08These two points
08:11And hope for the best
08:14Inverted atomic drop
08:15And a blast of a chop
08:16Standing shooting star
08:18Press
08:18And a kick out
08:21If records in venues
08:23Mean anything
08:24This could be a good luck
08:25Building for Will Ospreay
08:27Four and one overall
08:29Here at Ryogoku
08:32While Okada's record
08:34In the G1
08:35At Ryogoku
08:36Not too spectacular
08:37Chris
08:38Two, three, and two overall
08:40And that speaks to the fact
08:42That the
08:42Katsuki Okada
08:43Has been in a G1
08:45Final since 2014
08:46You know
08:47He's been out of that
08:48That loop
08:49For so, so long
08:52Oh, you know
08:54We gotta talk about
08:55Ospreay adding
08:57You know
08:58So much more muscle
08:59Since the last time
09:00These two have met
09:00You know
09:01Last time they met
09:02He was a true
09:03Junior heavyweight
09:04And he's
09:05He's always been
09:06A true junior heavyweight
09:07When competing
09:08Against Katsuki Okada
09:09And now he's
09:10Truly a heavyweight
09:11And he's
09:12Gotten bulky
09:13Here
09:13He's gotten stronger
09:15And you know
09:16I wonder if that'll
09:17That'll make a difference
09:18Here tonight
09:19After the
09:20Cervical vertebrae
09:22Compressing DDT
09:23A near fall
09:27Okada doing a great job
09:29Of wearing down that neck
09:30I mean, hey
09:31He knows that
09:32Ospreay's neck
09:33Has its issues
09:35Softening up
09:36For the money clip
09:37Or possibly the rainmaker
09:38Who knows
09:39What Okada's thinking
09:40Right now
09:42Thinking neckbreaker
09:43Right now
09:44But Ospreay knows it
09:47Oh
09:52Blast of a kick
09:53Catches him
09:57I know
09:57Will Ospreay
09:58Is a big student
10:00Of the game
10:00He watches a lot
10:01Of wrestling
10:02A lot of different
10:03Styles of wrestling
10:04But
10:04He always
10:07Watches Okada's
10:08Matches
10:09Through the curtain
10:11Or on the monitor
10:12In the locker room
10:13He studies the rainmaker
10:15He understands Okada's
10:17Moves and motivation
10:18For those moves
10:20And that mental side
10:22Of the game
10:22Is such a strong approach
10:24As Ospreay has matured
10:27Charging in
10:28But gets caught
10:30Shotgun drop
10:31Kick
10:31No
10:31Ospreay sidestep
10:34Uppercut forearm
10:35A tried and true weapon
10:37There for Okada
10:38And I wonder
10:39Almost
10:41Ospreay
10:41And Ospreay
10:42Might get hung up
10:42Wait wait wait wait
10:45Ospreay out of trouble
10:47And now
10:48Okada
10:49Sat on the top
10:50How about that
10:52And she brought up
10:53That point
10:54Of Will Ospreay
10:55Studying at Okada
10:56And he picked Will Ospreay
10:58With a new attitude
10:59In 61
11:00Very arrogant
11:01And a lot of people
11:02Are saying online
11:03Very reminiscent
11:05Of Kenny Omega
11:06And I wonder
11:07Whether Ospreay
11:08Was studying that
11:09Even from a character
11:10Plate
11:10Let me adapt
11:11Those character
11:12Thates
11:12To one of
11:14Okada's
11:14Great attrival
11:15To kick at the rainmaker
11:16All of this
11:17Match in mind
11:18Without Will Ospreay
11:19Rocky
11:20Whoa
11:21Over the top
11:23Corner
11:24That pulse
11:25He almost
11:26He almost
11:26Cleared Okada
11:33If next year's
11:34Summer Olympics
11:35Are looking for
11:36A high jumper
11:36They might have
11:38One right there
11:39A nod to heaven
11:40The references
11:41To Ryan Smile
11:42On his wrist tape
11:43And that was
11:44Sadly that move
11:45A tribute
11:45To Ryan Smile
11:47As well
11:48As doing a hell of a lot
11:49Of them
11:50Is Tekestika Okada
11:51Yeah very emotional
11:52Will Ospreay
11:54Of course
11:54Ryan
11:55Just 30 years old
11:56Passing away
11:57And our thoughts
11:58And prayers
11:59Are with his family
12:00As now Ospreay
12:01Goes to the top
12:02And he is measuring
12:05Okada
12:06Oh
12:08Hidden blade
12:09From the top
12:10Cover
12:11Stormbreaker
12:12Toei
12:13Oh
12:26Ospreay
12:26Is he saying come on
12:27Who is he saying come on to
12:28Is he saying that to the crowd
12:29Or is he saying it to himself
12:39And now going for Stormbreaker
12:45I was just going to ask you Rocky
12:46Do you think it's too soon for that
12:49I mean he
12:50I think he's trying to
12:51Feel him out a little bit
12:53Kevin
12:53And see where
12:54Okada's at
12:55And I think that's smart
13:01A firm forearm
13:03Along the jawline
13:04Of Ospreay
13:05From Okada
13:06The answer to those kicks
13:08Now a lot of emotional
13:10Mental
13:12Tests
13:12And some game
13:14Being played here
13:19Two guys that are friends
13:21Outside of the room
13:25Pushing each other
13:27To the limit
13:30Tiger flip kick
13:31Right into that enziguri
13:34Reversal by Okada
13:36Drop kick
13:36But
13:37Hangs on
13:38Oh no
13:39Got caught though
13:40Kevin
13:41And look at that
13:42Oh no
13:43Oh no
13:43What a counter
13:45Go
13:45Oh
13:46Marty Asabi's hand
13:48Nearly counted three
13:50What a fantastic counter
13:53Okada went for that
13:54Drop kick
13:54And right in midair
13:56Ospreay was able to
13:57Catch him
13:58Into a powerbomb
14:00Totally catching
14:02Okada off guard
14:05Two matches in 2019
14:07Between these two
14:08Still then a junior heavyweight
14:09The best of the
14:10Super junior tournament
14:11Went to the quarterfinals
14:12Did Ospreay
14:12Okada bounced it
14:14From the tournament
14:14But
14:15Said you're doing great
14:16You're on your way
14:17Then they met in the G1
14:18Oh
14:20Ospreay's first G1
14:21Last year
14:23Okada won
14:24And again
14:24Said Ospreay
14:25You're doing great
14:26Keep going
14:26Oh
14:28That hook kick
14:29Was deadly
14:30And now he might
14:32Be setting up
14:35Setting up
14:36For the hidden blade
14:37Here it comes
14:39Wait wait wait
14:40No
14:42Got it with that
14:43Wrist control
14:43Uh oh
14:45Clips him over
14:46Uh oh
14:47Door breaker
14:47Uh oh
14:48Uh oh
14:48Go
14:49Wow
14:49Break out
14:50Oh god
14:53Short ray maker
14:54Still has wrist control
14:55Several directions
14:57Okada can go
15:00This could be the difference maker
15:03Another look
15:04At the most recent exchange
15:06The athleticism
15:07From Okada
15:09The escape
15:10And then the planting
15:11Of Ospreay
15:12Two amazing athletes
15:14Right here
15:17So does Okada go back
15:19To his old friend
15:21The rainmaker
15:22Or his new friend
15:23The money clip
15:27Went for it
15:29Drop kick
15:34Tombstone
15:36Spikes him
15:40And now the money clip
15:42Clamped on
15:48Okada marched through
15:50Through the new japan cup tournament
15:51All the way to the finals
15:54With this move
15:56And has continued
15:58On this streak of effectiveness
16:01With the submission
16:02Throughout the
16:03GD1 Climax tournament
16:07And before unconsciousness
16:10Sets in for Ospreay
16:11Scrambles desperately
16:12The bottom rope
16:27Got to tell the referee
16:29To check
16:29On Ospreay
16:33And several directions
16:35For Okada to go
16:36But we say that
16:36Every match
16:37And Ospreay
16:41Perhaps closer to unconsciousness
16:43Than we thought
16:54Shotgun drop kick
16:58Heard Ospreay saying
17:00I'm just as good
17:01I wonder
17:01It almost felt like
17:03He was trying to
17:04Convince himself of that
17:09Going for another tombstone
17:14You sense desperation
17:16From Will Ospreay
17:25Trying to prove himself
17:27There it is
17:28Spinning Rainmaker
17:29Oh wait
17:30Turns it into
17:31A one man Spanish fly
17:32Too
17:32He almost got him
17:40That was wild
17:42That was completely
17:43Caught off guard
17:50Stormbreaker again
17:51Stormbreaker
17:52And not get
17:53Okada over
17:54Wait a minute
17:55Okada's down
17:55He's done it again
17:57No
18:09Okada landed nasty on that
18:11Okada landed nasty on that
18:13Okada landed nasty on that
18:15Okada landed nasty on that
18:15But he's holding on Kevin
18:20And we've seen Ospreay do this before
18:23And transition
18:26Right into Stormbreaker
18:28Got him up on the shoulders
18:31Oh can't finish it
18:33Back to the money clip
18:39Okada's got to get him down Kevin
18:41He's got to get him down on flatten on his back
18:45And he dropped to a knee
18:48Ospreay started to fade
18:50Ospreay got choked out
18:52By Backsaber Jr. back in January
18:59Now we'll pull him over
19:01Backslide
19:01Hang on
19:02Rainmaker no
19:04Spinning one
19:05Again tries it
19:07Woah woah woah woah woah woah
19:10Woah
19:10Woah
19:11Woah
19:11Woah
19:12Woah
19:14A massive spinning rainmaker
19:18I'm late
19:19Give up
19:19And now the clamp
19:21Yeah the clamp
19:22Yes sir
19:23The money clip
19:24Is hooked in
19:26And Ospreay's fading
19:28And look at the position
19:30Wait a minute wait a minute
19:31What is this
19:32He pissed the heat
19:34Get to the right
19:36You can beat him
19:36That's Will Ospreay's girlfriend
19:39Come on Will
19:40Beat Priestley
19:43Obviously watching from the back
19:45And now coming out to encourage Will
19:48Get him to fight on
19:51Oh
19:52The Cardscrew Tombstone
19:54We've already seen this lead to the money clip
19:56To end the match
20:00And now she's getting into the ring
20:02What is this
20:05Emotion over
20:06Hold on
20:07What
20:08Who is this
20:12Who is this
20:15Who the hell is that
20:17Great Okan
20:19Okan
20:20Okan
20:20Great
20:20My god look at that
20:22It's the Great Okan
20:25What the heck
20:26Où est-il venant ?
20:31Le premier Tomoyuki Oka !
20:33Mais on excursion dans le pays !
20:40Qu'est-ce que c'est différent ?
20:43Qu'est-ce qu'il est-ce qu'il y a ?
20:46Qu'est-ce qu'il y a ?
20:48Je pense que Osfé ne connaît ce qu'il y a pas.
20:54Qu'est-ce qu'il y a pas ?
20:55C'est ce qu'il y a Prisley ?
20:56C'est-ce qu'il y a pas ?
20:57Okada est-ce qu'il y a des pieds !
