Bohol Countryside Tour: Chocolate Hills, Loboc River Cruise

A full-day Bohol countryside tour combines natural sights and local culture with time at the island's better-known stops. Midway through the day, lunch is served on a river cruise as the boat passes calm water and low green banks. The pace leaves room to look around instead of treating each stop as a quick photo call.

## Highlights
- **9:30 am**: **Chocolate Hills** showcases more than 1,268 nearly identical cone-shaped hills across a vast landscape. The grass-covered formations turn brown during the dry season, creating their chocolate-like appearance.

00:16chocolate hills the view from the observation deck is very pleasant rows of chocolate hills
00:21rising from the ground are quite magical it was very crowded on sunday so we spent about 20 minutes
00:28here loboc river cruise lunch was on the boat but because it was a buffet it was too salty to
00:34eat
00:34much although it had a lot of local flavor the riverbanks were slightly tidy and the breeze was
00:40quite comfortable the local indigenous people were very enthusiastic dancing and interacting
00:45with tourists which was fun there were also singing and dancing on the boat to welcome us
00:51since there were taiwanese people they also sang chinese songs and there was also a church and
00:57monument but we didn't have time to visit them because of the optional tour optional activities
01:03atv atvs are available for one person or two people charged per person 1400 p slash person slash hour
01:12teenagers have a lot of fun and take great photos if you like taking souvenir photos you must try this
01:19filipino style video or photo experience our group of eight had two people accompanying us in the atvs
01:26zp line you can ride a cable car or zipline we only tried the zipline over the loboc river which
01:33was
01:34amazing you can see the waterfall in the river it's scary at first but once you're out there it's
01:41exhilarating highly recommended for those without a fear of heights round trip is 700 p slash person
01:48because of the optional activities we returned to the hotel late around 5 30 pm for an additional 500 p
01:56charge
01:57but it was worth it our driver was very nice and reminded everyone about each activity
02:03he also helped with buying tickets and communicating with people at various points
02:08so we later arranged a ride with him from the hotel to the bohal pier on our last day and
02:14the price was
02:14negotiable i booked the tour because it was so cheap we were picked up next to the hotel a little
02:21after
02:228 a.m two filipinos myself and two koreans were scheduled to join us in a mitsubishi suv but they
02:30all no showed on the day so it was just the four of us including the driver starting the tour
02:35as stated in
02:37the tour details there are entrance fees to chocolate hills tarsier sanctuary and buclean church the church
02:44fee is not charged unless you enter the interior the loboc river tour included a buffet lunch for
02:501000 pesos filipino food but it suits japanese tastes there was shrimp meat and fish i was a little wary
02:59because it was so cheap but everything went smoothly without any problems and we were dropped off at the
03:05original pickup location before 4 pm the driver was friendly and i had a great conversation with the
03:12other filipinos as we were the same age even if you don't speak english you can still enjoy the tour
03:18without any problems although you won't be able to join the conversation it seems that it is possible
03:24to arrange the tour locally but according to the driver there can be disputes over the price so i
03:30recommend paying and booking in advance there were a total of four of us two taiwanese tourists and two
03:38of us we skipped the atv ride and instead tried the zipline bike since you can see the chocolate hills
03:45from here we didn't go to the chocolate hills viewpoint the itinerary was tarsier park loboc river cruise
03:52butterfly park and the cathedral the loboc river cruise had tables seating six people so we had to share a
04:00table the food was filipino everything was good except for the cruise if we had gone individually on
04:08motorbikes our butts would have been sore so i'm glad we used the tour
