00:00Okay, so you wanna build a custom display, maybe a reactive gaming setup, some pixel art on your
00:05wall, or just something that syncs to your music and you need the right lights to make it happen.
00:09The problem is, there are about a million options out there, and most of them are kind of garbage.
00:15So I dug through the best-selling stuff and found 5 programmable LED lights that are actually worth
00:20your time and money. Let's get into it. First up, we've got the classic workhorse,
00:27the WS2812B Individually Addressable Strip. This is the one a lot of people start with,
00:33and for good reason. Every single LED on this thing is individually controllable,
00:38which is exactly what you need for custom animations, text, or effects that travel down
00:43the strip. It comes in 30, 60, or even 144 pixels per meter, so you can choose your resolution.
00:51And here's the kicker, it's only $4.37. With almost 5,000 sold and a 4.6 rating,
00:58this is the budget-friendly entry point for anyone serious about custom displays.
01:03Next, if you want a little more flexibility with voltage and chip options,
01:07check out this WS2811 and WS2812B combo strip. This one supports both 5V and 12V setups,
01:15and you can get it with either a black or white PCB, which actually matters if you're mounting it on
01:20different surfaces. The individually addressable LEDs are super reliable, and it's even cheaper at
01:26just $2.97. That's kind of insane. It's got a 4.7 rating and over 4,800 sold, so clearly
01:36people
01:36are happy with it. If you're building a large display and need to save some cash, this is a
01:41no-brainer. All right, third on the list is a more premium version of the WS2812B strip.
01:48This one has a 4.8 rating, the highest so far, and it's sold nearly 4,800 units.
01:54What makes it stand out is the variety of lengths and LED densities.
01:58You can get it in 1 to 5 meters, with 30, 60, 74, 96, or 144 LEDs per meter.
02:07That's a huge range, meaning you can dial in exactly the pixel pitch you need.
02:11It's $5.29, which is still incredibly cheap for this level of customization.
02:17If you want proven reliability and a ton of options, this is it.
02:22Now, let's switch gears a little. If you're not trying to solder strips and you just want a cool,
02:28ready-to-go display, this smart LED curtain light is fantastic.
02:32It's app-controlled, dimmable, and you can actually DIY your own patterns right on your phone.
02:38It even has a music mode that syncs the lights to ambient sound.
02:42It's perfect for a bedroom wall, a party backdrop, or holiday decorations.
02:47It's $29.95, which is more of an investment, but it has a perfect 5-star rating from over 4
02:54,600 buyers.
02:56That's basically unheard of.
02:58If you want plug-and-play custom lighting, this is the one.
03:02And finally, number 5 is another solid WS20A12B strip, but this one focuses on the basics done really well.
03:10It's a 5-volt, 3-pin addressable strip with 30 or 60 LEDs per meter, and it comes in IP30
03:16or IP65 waterproof ratings.
