00:05Every country that enters this hall brings its own concerns.
00:10For some, security means protecting borders.
00:14For others, it means food, water, energy, or the future of their children.
00:21And many countries face all of these challenges at once.
00:26That is why a world ruled mainly by power
00:29rather than by rules would be dangerous for everyone.
00:34For smaller countries such as Slovakia, this is especially clear.
00:40But no country, large or small, is truly safe in a world
00:45where international law is ignored and institutions are weakened.
00:50Sadly, we no longer need to imagine such a world.
00:54We can already see parts of it around us.
00:59Trade is becoming less predictable.
01:02Security cooperation is more fragmented.
01:06The idea that every country should have a voice is under pressure.
01:12And when rules are weakened,
01:15when cooperation is replaced by confrontation,
01:18all of us become more vulnerable.
01:22But we still have a choice.
01:25The international system we have built is not perfect.
01:29It can be slow.
01:31It can be frustrating.
01:33At times, it does not deliver as quickly as people need.
01:38But the solution is not to destroy it.
01:41The solution is to make it work better.
01:46Slovakia is firmly anchored in the United Nations,
01:50NATO, and the European Union.
01:51which is not a force of power to assist.
