00:12at around £1.69 a litre, while diesel averaged about £1.92 a litre. Prices vary between forecourts,
00:21so what motorists pay depends on where they fill up. Nationally, RAC figures from the 23rd of
00:27September put petrol above £1.73 a litre and diesel above £1.97. The RAC says higher wholesale costs
00:36have been feeding through to pump prices, with diesel remaining considerably more expensive
00:42than petrol across the country.
