02:34how do you see it
02:36as a team
02:36and how the mentality was
02:38do you think it was
02:39too defensive
02:40or was it just the scenario
02:42I think it's really difficult
02:44because also
02:45that same mentality
02:46was the reason
02:46we progressed
02:49through the previous
02:50two rounds
02:50so then you almost
02:52carry on doing things
02:53that have worked
02:54and it's difficult
02:55in life to ever
02:56change something
02:57that's working
02:57because why would you
02:58if you know something works

13:28that I've said
13:29before I'm
13:29really good
13:29when I play

13:35an untouchable

13:37it makes me
13:38feel on top

13:44but as a
13:45winger to be

14:34kind of built
14:34ourselves with the
14:35mentality and
14:36stuff we were
14:36showing in
14:36training but I
14:37also felt we
14:38weren't performing
14:39in the matches
14:39like we did in
14:40training because
14:41if we did we
14:42would have
14:42dominated everyone
14:43which wasn't the
14:44case every match
14:45was quite close
14:45even in Norway
14:46game I didn't
14:47feel like they
14:49were really at
14:50our level we
14:51could have
14:51dominated that
14:52game but for
14:53some reason we
14:53just didn't do
14:54it so it makes
14:55a lot of sense
14:56to me why the
14:57manager would
14:57then you know
14:58go more safe
14:59and more more
15:00defensive and
15:01really tune in
15:02to what got us
15:02through the
15:03previous two
15:03rounds in that
15:04moment it might
15:05not to other
15:05people but it
15:06does to me being
15:07a part of the
15:07group I felt
15:08like as players we
15:09could have done
15:10more to take the
15:12initiative to
15:12control the game
15:13I think if we do
15:14that the manager
15:15doesn't make the
15:15decision so I think
15:17everyone likes to
15:18blame the manager
15:19because that's
15:19football managers
15:20always take
15:21responsibility but in
15:23my opinion one
15:24person shouldn't be
15:25responsible for a
15:27million different
15:27decisions that are
15:28happening at one
15:29time for me we had
15:31the best team we
15:32had the best players
15:33on the pitch in that
15:34semi-final and in the
15:36last 20 minutes we
15:37didn't play the best
15:38football that's
15:39something the
15:39manager can't
15:40really affect from
15:41the sideline so I
15:42think as a group
15:44everyone together
15:45should take
15:45responsibility we
15:46shouldn't try and
15:47blame one man who's
15:49obviously trying his
15:50best to win the
15:51game and win the
15:52cup for us all

15:56between Spanish

15:58football so can
15:59you tell us how
16:00your game is maybe
16:01evolving out in
16:02Barcelona with the
16:03players you're
16:03playing with in that
16:04front line?
16:04it's definitely
16:05evolving because I
16:06think I've played in
16:09a completely different
16:10style under Eddie
16:11Howe and Newcastle
16:12we played a really
16:14intense you know
16:15back and forth it
16:16was always quite
16:17exciting games
16:17whereas at Barca
16:18the intensity is a
16:20lot more slow
16:20because we control
16:21the ball so much
16:23and we've been quite
16:24dominant so far so
16:25it's been a completely
16:26different style for me
16:28to get used to but
16:29as part of the
16:31England youth teams
16:31I've always played
16:32this style anyway so
16:33I've been used to it
16:35and I pride myself on
16:36having high football
16:37IQ and making the
16:38right decisions
16:38probably more than I
16:39should I think
16:41sometimes I probably
16:42should be more
16:42selfish as a player
16:43but it's not really
16:44in my nature so I
16:45think going to a
16:46team like Barcelona
16:46has really suited me
16:48and it's maybe
16:48highlighting strengths
16:49that people didn't
16:51know that I had or
16:52maybe overlooked
16:53because I'm fast and
16:55because I press
16:56that's kind of the
16:57only thing people
16:57ever speak about but
16:59I've actually got a
17:00lot more to my game

17:40feel like we are trying

17:43I know we've got just as
17:46good players but they
17:47have different qualities
17:48so why try and make them
17:49same players the same as
17:51the Spanish players because
17:52the Spanish players lack
17:53the things that we have
17:55and vice versa so I
17:57think maybe we just
17:58yeah I don't want to
17:59speak to them about the
18:00manager so I'm not going
18:01to control the tactics
18:03or how we play but I
18:04think we need to stop
18:05looking elsewhere as a
18:06country and maybe be
18:07proud of who we are
18:09what we are the things
18:10we have and stop
18:11comparing with other
18:12countries because we're
18:14English we're not Spanish
18:15or French or other
18:17countries who have
18:17succeeded.

18:45that been a similar

18:49the manager I think more
18:50people have spoke to me
18:51about the France game
18:53rather than the
18:54Argentina game funnily
18:55enough obviously a lot
18:56of people have also
18:57spoke to me about the
18:58Argentina game but the
19:00France game was quite a
19:01tremendous watch from a
19:03fan's point of view
19:04obviously as an English
19:05person wasn't really that
19:07important because of what
19:08we just went through and
19:10what we were all feeling

19:42English fans from playing in
19:44Premier League sides who try and
19:46play ultra football ticky
19:48tackle football I always feel
19:50like the fans don't
19:51appreciate it as much I feel
19:52like English fans want to
19:53they want to see an English
19:54game and it's normal because
19:56in Spain they appreciate the
19:58Spanish style and that's kind

20:02than always looking elsewhere

20:06players come with a certain
20:07set of qualities Spanish
20:09players come with their set of
20:11qualities so we need to stop

20:17point that the fans in
20:19England for me they love a
20:22kind of basketball game they
20:23love an athletic game a
20:24direct game when a team's
20:26losing they don't want to see

20:28the back they want to see a
20:29big striker winning headers

20:33an English traditional English
20:34style of play for me in my
20:36opinion so like I said maybe

21:39fringes of England
21:42I would say when you come in
21:44here be yourself because the
21:45coaches have picked you based
21:47on what they've seen you do
21:48they haven't picked you to come
21:50here and then sort of fall in
21:51line with other players here and
21:53their strengths and try and play
21:55how the team wants you to play
21:56they pick you because they see
21:57your strength your strengths as
22:00valuable for this team so don't
22:01change just be yourself don't try
22:04anybody else and that way you'll
22:07feel a lot more comfortable I
22:08think okay we'll move on to a
22:10very short section of bargain
