00:00Former West Ham captain Mark Noble has paid tribute to Sir Geoff Hurst, who ended his playing career with West
00:07Bromwich Albion after attending the ceremony where the England and Hammers legend was awarded the freedom of the City of
00:15London.
00:16Noble highlighted Hurst's remarkable achievements for West Ham and England, with the 1966 World Cup winner remaining one of the
00:24club's greatest ever players.
00:26Hurst scored 248 goals in 499 appearances for West Ham.
00:31He also made 10 appearances for West Bromwich Albion in the Midlands, where he ended his career.
00:37Here is what Mark Noble had to say about the England legend.
00:40Because of my history with West Ham and growing up in the area, and everyone knows the story, I've played
00:47there my whole life, and you can't help not knowing about Geoff Hurst and what the boy has done for
00:56West Ham.
00:59So, coming today as a Freeman of City of London myself, to see Geoff pick up his was very special,
01:06to be in the room with the Lady Mayor, and it was really special for me just to be there
01:13and see him with his family, because Sir Geoff's done so much, as we know, for this country and for
01:20our club.
01:21To be honoured to come and support that and be a part of it was really nice for me.
