00:00Alright, if you're hunting for maraging 300 steel round rod for tooling and you keep hitting listings that want your
00:05whole paycheck, stick around, because I went through the budget side of this market and found 5 HSS round rod
00:10deals that people are actually buying by the thousands, and a couple of them start under a dollar.
00:16First up, the two-piece set with the biggest size selection I found, diameter 3.1 all the way up
00:21to 20mm, and you pick your length at 100, 150, or 200mm.
00:27That range means one order can cover a small pilot pin and a chunkier turning job at the same time.
00:33It's 84 cents, it's sold over 4,200 times, and it sits at 4.5 stars.
00:39If you want variety without ordering 5 separate listings, this is your pick.
00:44Next is basically the same two-piece kit but a hair cheaper at 81 cents, and honestly the numbers tell
00:50the story, nearly 4,000 sold in a 4.6 rating.
00:53Same diameter spread, same length options, same solid HSS bar stock you can chuck straight into the lathe.
01:00If you're buying in bulk for a shop and every cent per unit matters, this is the one that keeps
01:05your cost per piece down without dropping quality.
01:08Then there's the single-piece option at just 50 cents, yes, half a dollar, and it's the smartest way to
01:13test a size before committing.
01:15Diameter range is 3.1 up to 20mm, lengths are 100, 150, or 200mm, and it's got a 4.7
01:23rating across 3,500 plus sales.
01:26If you just need one rod for a quick tooling touch-up where you're not sure which diameter fits your
01:31setup, grab this one first.
01:34Now, this one's my personal favorite for balance 80 cents for two pieces, 3,200 plus sold, and a 4
01:40.8 rating.
01:41That's the sweet spot where the price is as low as it gets for a pair and the feedback is
01:45genuinely strong.
01:47You get the full diameter and length menu, you get two rods instead of one, and you get buyers consistently
01:53saying the stock machine's clean and holds up.
01:55Hard to argue with that combo.
01:58And last but definitely not least, the highest-rated listing in the whole roundup, 4.9 stars, 80 cents for
02:04a two-piece set, 2,700 plus sold.
02:08Fewer sales than the others, but that rating says the people who did buy came back happy.
02:13Same diameters, same 100, 150, and 200mm lengths, same solid HSS round rod.
02:20If you'd rather trust the rating than the volume, this is the one to click.
02:25All five links are sitting in the description below, so pick your diameter and length and grab whichever fits your
02:30bench.
02:31If this saved you some scrolling, drop a like and hit subscribe, I've got plenty more budget tooling finds coming
02:37your way.
