01:12of a reported shooting at the 8,000 block of Anderson Square.
01:15Austin-Travis County EMS responded immediately
01:18where it's on scene within 3.5 minutes.
01:20One individual was identified suffering from a gunshot wound.
01:24The patient was stable, vital sensors were stable, but in serious condition.
01:28They were transported off the scene within nine minutes of arrival of VMS Resources
01:32and transported to a local trauma center, as I said, in serious but stable condition.
01:37Austinites also, because they have a right to feel safe in their city,
01:41and when you have a shooting on their streets, it makes people feel less safe.
01:48And ICE, with the fear that it's created, is on their streets.
01:53And by just being on their streets, it creates some fear in our city.
01:56And if there's nothing to fear from this being done the way it was done,
02:02if there's nothing wrong with that, they should welcome an investigation.
02:06It is awful that this horror has come to our doorstep.
02:12And as the mayor said, unfortunately, it is not a surprise.
02:17Just a few weeks ago, as we saw the ICE surge come to Austin, especially to north-central Austin,
02:26I and others said that ICE needed to leave before someone was shot,
02:32like in Minneapolis, or like in Corpus Christi, or like in Chicago.
02:37And that day is here.
02:42And so I think the message remains that for Austin to be safe, ICE should end its surge here in
02:52our community.
