00:00Course versus field, which is more important? If you had the option to watch the French Open or the Open
00:08to France, as they call it, at Le Golf National with a DP World Tour field on exactly the same
00:13time on the channel next door to the 3M Open on the PGA Tour, which for some odd reason has
00:21an amazing field for that particular week, which would you rather watch?
00:26Yeah, I think the French Open would win that. Le Golf National is an amazing course. A good field doesn't
00:32always guarantee amazing entertainment. You see that with Live Golf. It has an amazing field. You know, some huge names,
00:41some massive characters, and that hasn't been able to drive the TV interest that they want.
00:47And then Sunday, we just had all 70 of the PGA Tour's best players, or 68 of them, and that
00:55didn't create the most drama or the best entertainment.
00:58So, it's a mix of match, but I would say the course wins. You think of events like Merion at
01:06the weekend for the US Amateur. Most of us probably hadn't heard of the amateurs sort of near the top
01:13end, and that was an amazing tournament.
01:16The Augusta National Women's Amateur. Most of us haven't heard of all the top female college golfers. Certainly, the casual
01:22golf fans haven't. Anyone would enjoy that, probably more than the 3M Open. So, yeah, I would say the golf
01:30course beats the field.
01:33Sorry to the 3M Open there, catching strays. There's nothing personal against the 3M Open. That was just the first
01:38tournament that came to my head.
