While working as a night watchman at one of the oldest cemeteries in the city, the narrator is assigned to share patrols with the legendary Don Silver—an elderly guard who always knows more than he says. At first, the paranormal is subtle and creepy: impossible crying in the dark, footsteps with no source, and monks appearing on security feeds at early morning hours as if they’re carrying something invisible. Then the horror escalates when Don Silver and the narrator confront the gate—and later when the dog Gamby leads him to an open entrance and a mausoleum full of approaching shapes. In the final minutes, the surveillance reveals a terrifying truth: the monks are coming from both inside and outside the cemetery at the same time.
