The Rocking Sky chronicles the first generation of Republic of China Air Force pilots who flew against Japanese forces in the early years of the Second Sino-Japanese War, long before Western powers entered the conflict. Drawing on interviews with surviving pilots and their families across Taiwan, China and Hong Kong, the film weaves archival materials, personal letters and animation to recover a chapter of history too long overlooked.
