17:58The unofficial registry score for a career adjournment is 3.4.
18:04Maria is currently in fourth place.
18:40The first group is skated.
18:42I'm with Karina Jung from Austria.
18:44How was your skate?
18:46Not so good as I thought.
18:48But I was very nervous.
18:50It's a different moment here in Canada.
18:58I've never been skating in Canada before.
19:01But it's so nice.
19:03And so nice here.
19:04People are very nice and friendly.
19:06So you're having fun at the competition?
19:08Yeah, I had very much fun here.
19:10So have you competed in other international competitions?
19:13I have been to the Oberstdorf before.
19:16And it was much better.
19:18But sometimes I must also have a bad day, yes?
19:21Oh, yes.
19:22And anything can happen out there.
19:24And you also mentioned you're a little nervous being here.
19:27The ice is all the same.
19:28Well, not always the same everywhere else.
19:32How long have you been competing?
19:34I've competed for four years now.
19:36And I started completely new.
19:39So it's not easy, that sport.
19:42So you haven't been skating for very long?
19:44No, not really.
19:45What made you decide to go into skating?
19:48Oh, it was my child's dream.
19:50Oh, see?
19:50And I had never time.
19:52But then I had the time and a nice husband that he paid that for my dream and everything.
19:59That's so nice.
20:00I'm so glad to see adults who didn't have the opportunity as children now getting that opportunity
20:06to fulfill a dream, which you're doing.
20:09Now, do you have more events while you're here?
20:11This year not, but next year I will have, yeah.
20:14You will do more?
20:15We'll look forward to seeing that.
20:17Keep loving what you're doing.
20:18Yeah.
20:19Alright.
20:19So see you tomorrow.
20:20Are you here tomorrow too?
20:21Are you here tomorrow too?
20:23Okay.
20:24Alright.
20:25Stay tuned for more skating.
20:26Okay.
20:27Yeah.
20:39Okay.
20:41Okay.
20:41Okay, thank you.
20:54Yeah.
20:56Okay.
20:57Whoa, folks.
20:59What are you here?
38:17Okay, that concludes the Bronze Women Artistic 3, and I am with Beth McCluskey-Peltier,
38:24who came in third place and won the bronze medal.
38:27Congratulations.
38:28Thank you very much.
38:28How did it feel out there?
38:30Terrible.
38:32Legs are very shaky.
38:33The ice is very soft here, so it's very hard to get an edge for us.
38:37We're out east, and we have very hard ice.
38:40Hockey ice.
38:41Yeah, yeah, definitely.
38:42Well, I want to tell you, I thought you had great musicality out there.
38:46The program was well put together with the different moments in it, and you did a great
38:51job interpreting those.
38:52Who did the program for you?
38:54My coach, Lisa Miller.
38:57She is spectacular.
38:58She puts up with me, and she always tries to make sure that I can do what she wants me
39:06to do, but pushes me all the time.
39:09Perfect combination for a perfect time.
39:12It's a, isn't it, Coach's Week?
39:14Yes, it is.
39:15So, big shout out to Lisa Miller and all the coaches at Capital City.
39:20There you go.
39:21Now, how long have you been competing?
39:23About six years.
39:25I started in Ottawa, so every year since then, it's 2022.
39:30And how long have you been skating?
39:34After 30 years off the ice, I started skating because my girls skated.
39:38I skated in the morning, and it was an adult time, too, so I just did it for activity.
39:42But then, I think, I guess I'm a little competitive, because they said, well, Mom, you can't do that.
39:47And so, yeah, I'll show you little ones.
39:50Thank you, Emily and Melanie.
39:51You have cost me thousands of thousands of dollars.
39:54On them or on you?
39:56Both.
39:56We were all skaters.
39:58Are they still skating?
39:59My oldest daughter does still skate in Comox now.
40:04She's found a nice little club there.
40:05Very welcoming.
40:06So, thank you very much to them.
40:08My other one traded in her figure skates for hockey in grade nine.
40:14I just wish she would have done it before I bought her the new skates in January.
40:19But she is a beautiful dancer.
40:22She's a beautiful skater as well.
40:24I love her.
40:25Well, it sounds like it, and I'm glad that they were there to get you going and support you.
40:29I'm sorry it cost you so much money, but I think it's well worth it.
40:32Oh, it is.
40:32It's just when you've got three, you know?
40:34You talk about lessons and everything.
40:36My husband only found out a couple of years ago how much skates cost because I was complaining
40:41about my skates.
40:42He said, I'm taking you to Ottawa and I'm getting you a good pair of skates.
40:44Okay.
40:45He took me, but he also brought Emily, and he said, I'll buy you one last pair, kid.
40:49She was graduating.
40:50And he went up, and he just went, oh.
40:54Kind of had him a little explicit there.
40:56He says, thanks for never telling me how much this cost.
41:00You would have been fair skating long before then.
41:02Big time.
41:03All right.
41:03Do you have more events this week?
41:05Yeah.
41:05Tomorrow.
41:05Freestyle.
41:06But it's going to be rough.
41:08I'm not quite used to the time change, so it's going to be past midnight when I would
41:13normally be asleep.
41:14So it's going to be done.
41:16Get some rest.
41:17Yeah.
41:17Good luck tomorrow.
41:18Congratulations on your third place finish and bronze medal today.
41:21Thank you very much.
41:22But stick around for more.
