00:00Major European football returns to this corner of Istanbul in the same competition
00:05with Marseille on the backs of the Bosporus for the opening game.
00:10While Dusan Vlahovic returns up front after missing the last league game through suspension.
00:15The newly acquired Serbian striker Kylian Abdullah replaces the Brazilian Igor Pachau on the wing
00:20and up front there's a start for Neil Mopé in preference to Marseille's top scorer this season, Amin Guiri.
00:30The Europa League campaign proper is underway for Besiktas and Marseille.
00:42Early pressure here from Besiktas. Vlahovic scraping the side netting.
00:53That was loose and it might just leave the door ajar for Marseille.
00:58Angel Gomez sends it forward and Nubal is forced to make a save for the first time tonight.
01:07This is Czerny.
01:10Alighton is looking for Vlahovic.
01:16Gomez wants the free kick, he's not about to get it.
01:19And Topchew feeds it forward to Fakili.
01:23Support arriving.
01:26Junior Alighton sliding it through.
01:28Lovely play, brilliant goal.
01:34Superb play from Besiktas.
01:43It's taking them 15 minutes to make the breakthrough.
01:52Angel Gomez.
01:55This is Himad Abdelhi.
01:59Gomez.
02:01Goal kick.
02:08Gorgeous bouncing off Vlahovic.
02:12That's a lovely pass forward collected here by Kylian Abdallah.
02:15Abdallah with the equaliser.
02:20Marseille equalising and silencing the home crowd just before the half hour mark.
02:31Kylian Abdallah's second goal of the season.
02:38Bringing Bruno Genesios.
02:42Now Murillo.
02:43Closing seconds of the first half.
02:47Vlahovic.
02:48Brilliantly done.
02:50Good save to Lange.
02:52And cleared away by Weyer.
02:54And we're all square at the break between these two.
02:57But it was almost the perfect ending to the half.
03:00Lohovic through.
03:02Kuktu with the effort.
03:04The Lange with the save.
03:05It was the last action of the first half.
03:07And it almost produced the third goal of the opening half of this match day one encounter in Istanbul.
03:16Well it was brilliant from Beziktas right at the end of the first half.
03:21And almost on the end of it there.
03:22Okun Kuktu.
03:28And there goes the half-time whistle.
03:34And away we go.
03:35The second 45.
03:36Perfectly balanced this match.
03:38Both in terms of the play as well as the scoreline between these two.
03:47Vlahovic has done well there.
03:49The little flick on.
03:49Bit of space now for Okun Kuktu.
03:54This is Czerny.
03:55Looks promising for Beziktas.
03:58It looks really promising.
03:59It's 2-1.
04:03Václav Czerny.
04:09It's the Czerny's fourth goal of the season.
04:12And it's team's second of the game.
04:16And it restores their lead.
04:23Just over half an hour remaining.
04:27Kuktu's delivery.
04:30It's three.
04:32And Murillo scores against his former club.
04:48And this wonderful arena is shaking to its very foundations with excitement.
04:54De Lange beat Nege.
05:04And it's comfortable enough for De Lange.
05:19Sort of noise that leaves your ears ringing all night.
05:25Tremendous atmosphere.
05:28Vakili going for another one.
05:32Slamming the crossbar.
05:34Czerny.
05:36And cleared away by Emerson.
05:39Vakili.
05:41So close to 4-1.
05:43Very close to his second goal of the night.
05:51We're also going to see Wilfred and Didi.
05:57Off goes Václav Czerny.
05:59Off goes Václav Czerny.
06:02Just over ten minutes to go.
06:21Václav Czerny.
06:23Václav Czerny could get a goal shortly.
06:25It would at least give them a glimmer of hope of getting something in this game.
06:29It needs to happen fairly quickly.
06:30You sense Pazhau.
06:32Into the gloves of Nubal.
06:34With Guiri waiting in the middle.
06:48There come the home side once more.
06:50Junior a light and...
06:53It's for Ernest Poukou, off the bench and among the goals, it's his first one for Besiktas, and the low
07:09knee from Leverkusen makes it 4-1 on the night, and a glorious match day.
07:16Who, I should imagine, just want this game to end now. CJ Egan Riley, English defender, into Amin Guiri. Lovely
07:24touch. Certainly the first touch was a terrific one.
07:33Eric just trying to find an opening getaway from Ndidi, and a chance to shoot, and Nubal made a bit
07:40of a meal of that.
07:47And then, very grateful for the ball to come straight at him.
07:54Just waiting for the final whistle. And there it is. It's an excellent opening night victory for Besiktas in the
08:06league phase of the Europa League.
