00:16In high revving V10s, the valves and rods move up and down thousands of times a minute.
00:19Steel parts get so heavy at those speeds that they start to float and lose control.
00:23And a single misfire can blow the whole engine apart.
00:25So engineers use lightweight titanium rods and valves instead, letting the engine safely scream to 9000 RPM and beyond.
00:30And sometimes titanium is just there to sound amazing.
00:33That's exactly why Lexus built a titanium exhaust for the LFA, purely so it would howl like a Formula 1
