00:00We understand a lot of tensions are happening in the West Asia region or the Arab world.
00:05But let me tell you about a good news as well.
00:07How your friendship in school can really turn out favors for you.
00:12If one of your school friends turns out to be the prime minister of the country,
00:18what would you do if you're ever caught in any sort of trouble?
00:21So here is Asghar Ali.
00:23He's 81 years old and happened to be a school friend, a schoolmate of a Narendra Modi
00:30who turned out to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier, the chief minister.
00:34Now here's what happened.
00:35There's a reason that Mr. Asghar Ali Vora met Narendra Modi recently.
00:40He sought his intervention.
00:41He alleged there was his land being encroached and that involved a BJP MLA in Mumbai.
00:48And now because of a result of that, well, if you've met Narendra Modi
00:52as the prime minister, who's a school friend, what do you think will be the consequence of that?
00:57The 81-year-old has reportedly got back his land.
01:01Vora met the prime minister on 8th of September, sought his intervention in the dispute.
01:05He had purchased around 2,800 square meter of land in Bhandari East in 1989.
01:10In 2011, the plot was taken over by a construction firm owned by BJP MLA.
01:16Vora studied with the prime minister at BN school in Bardnagar, Gujarat.
01:23Mustafa Sheikh joining me for the latest on that.
01:26Mustafa, that is one friendship that clearly no BJP MLA or no encroacher would have thought of and realized.
01:34Take us through the details.
01:35What do you have?
01:35What did you find out?
01:36Go ahead.
01:39We are in Meera Bhayandar area and this plot for which Azgar Ali Vora, the schoolmate of prime minister Narendra
01:46Modi had met him and demanded a CBI inquiry.
01:49Now that the land has been given back to Mr. Vora, we are at this property at measuring about 2
01:54,800 square meters, which was purchased in 1989.
01:58But in 2011, two developers' name appeared in the land records.
02:02Vora had complained and alleged that this was a forgery.
02:05He had filed a police complaint.
02:07He had gone to Kosp, but nothing was happening.
02:09He had to appeal to the prime minister.
02:10Now the 7-year-old construction is saying that they have settled the issue with Vora family.
02:15They are handing back the land to them.
02:17There is one more construction company, which is the Swoyam Builders.
02:20They are yet to come up with their site.
02:22But after a long legal battle and appealing to his school friend, Vora family has got this property back.
02:28And this property is a prime land in the Meera Bhayanda area, which is just outside Mumbai.
02:32You will see the high-rise buildings, which are under construction in this area, makes this land a prime property.
02:38A government servant who was working, who was staying in Wadanagar, later had bought this property.
02:44Mr. Vora and his brother had bought this property.
02:46And they were struggling to get this back.
02:49And now it seems that they have won the battle and they are getting this property back.
02:54As the case against them has been withdrawn, the matter has been settled.
02:57With Ashish Dhammapurka, Mustafa Sheikh for India Today.
03:01Well, like it is said, keep your school friends close.
03:04You don't know if one of them could become a prime minister and you may need their help.
03:08Well, that in this case clearly shows it did work.
03:11But also a big question mark on a serious note about the encroachments.
03:15And if there is a political, influential, any sort of nexus that's happening,
03:19that needs to be also looked at with regard to the real estate mafia.
