00:00Have you heard of the Headless Valley? No. So in Canada, in the early 1900s, there was this push
00:05from gold prospectors to go out into the Nahanni Valley because they figured because it's so
00:09untouched by humanity, there's bound to be gold. And so in 19, I think it's 1905, these three
00:14brothers, Charlie, Willie, and Frank, they decide they are going to head off into the Nahanni Valley
00:19and go try to strike it rich. They find their way into the valley and they get to the stretch
00:23of
00:23this river called the Flat River. But there was this little embankment against this huge forest
00:28and they made their camp there and it's just gold everywhere. And so after a whole day,
00:33just getting all this gold, they pack all their back up and they begin making their way back out
00:37again, which should be easier. And their boat capsizes and they come ashore and they build
00:41their boat again. And they're like, oh my gosh, we've lost so many supplies. Like the best we can
00:45do here is leave and come back with more supplies because we know there's gold here. Like this is
00:50devastating, but no one's going to be here. We can come back, we can get more gold. And once they
00:53get
00:53back to town, Charlie decides, you know what, it's not worth it. I don't want to buy out on the
00:57Flat
00:58River. And so fast forward a year, Frank and Willie, they decide to go and Charlie is aware
01:02that they're going out there and he expects they're going to be gone for, I think it was going
01:06to be a whole year, but some amount of time passed. Let's call it a year when Charlie starts to
01:10become
01:10suspicious because they haven't come out of the valley yet. And so another whole year passes
01:14for two years deep into this. And so at this point, Charlie is thinking something's happened to
01:18my brothers. I got to go find them. And so he puts together a group of people to go see
01:21what
01:22happened to his brothers. And so he makes his way, he starts getting into the valley and he reaches
01:26this stretch of Flat River where he had been two years prior with his brothers. And they see there's
01:31a campsite set up on the beach. And so they beach the boat and they're looking around and they find
01:35there's two bodies, two men. They're badly decomposed, but they're missing their heads and
01:38they find identification. And it turns out those are his two brothers.
