00:02Bonjour, comment vas-tu ?
00:04Je fais bien, merci de m'avoir regardé.
00:08Merci d'être ici, bienvenue sur Be In Sports.
00:10Nous sommes très excités de parler de football avec vous.
00:14Et vous savez quoi, on va commencer par là.
00:16Vous avez été brusquée sur votre français ?
00:19Je suis essayé d'y arriver.
00:20Bonjour, bonsoir.
00:24Bonsoir. Close enough.
00:26Bonsoir, bonsoir, je suis plus clé.
00:28Je suis heureux d'y aller.
01:15about football, American football
01:17in France, it's growing.
01:18It's getting bigger and bigger.
01:19Can you give our viewers in France
01:22three good reasons
01:23to watch the Saints this season ?
01:28It's going to be really exciting.
01:29You know, we have an excellent locker room.
01:33Tyler Shuck, Chris Olave, Chase Young, Cam Jordan,
01:38so many players that I think will become
01:40household names throughout the country of France.
01:44And so, hey, if you're looking for a team
01:47to rally behind, there's no better team
01:49for everyone in France to rally behind
01:51than the team with the Florida League
01:53and the New Orleans Saints.
01:54That's good marketing right there.
01:56Good job, coach.
01:58All right, let's talk about this, you know,
02:01like new thing happening for us in France.
02:04We've never had a football game,
02:06an NFL game before in France.
02:08We're super excited to host you guys
02:10and the Steelers as well, of course,
02:12on October 25th.
02:13Tell me about that.
02:14And what's it going to be like for you guys?
02:17Is it somehow a distraction
02:19in the middle of the season?
02:20Is it excitement?
02:21What is it like?
02:23I'm really excited.
02:24I think our team is so excited for it.
02:26We'll play in New York the Sunday before that,
02:29and then we'll fly directly to Paris
02:31to spend the entire week there.
02:33We're going to try and make it as similar
02:35to a normal week as we can understand
02:37it's not a normal week.
02:38There's no reason to try and make it.
02:41It's a really one of a kind experience.
02:43So our guys will go through their preparation
02:45like they normally would,
02:47but they'll have a little bit of idle and free time.
02:49And I think it's important that they have an opportunity
02:52to go explore the city of Paris, the whole region,
02:56enjoy a meal, go on a couple of activities to explore.
03:00And so it's going to be a great experience for our guys.
03:02Do you have any idea what the plan is going to be like?
03:04What the week is going to look like?
03:07I think for us, we try and make it as similar as we can
03:10as far as the meetings and the practices.
03:12But later in the week, you know,
03:14which is normal for our players, you know,
03:16beginning usually Thursday night into Friday,
03:19they'll have those evenings with a little bit more flexibility
03:22to go explore.
03:23And I know a lot of families are coming.
03:25a lot of our fans are coming.
03:26And so I think Paris hopefully is ready for a lot of Florida leaves
03:30and the black and gold throughout the entire city.
03:32Oh, we are.
03:33Trust me, we are.
03:34How much do you know about France?
03:35How many times have you been to Paris?
03:38It's come my first time.
03:39And so I'm excited.
03:41So what's the plan?
03:42Like, tell me what you absolutely want to get done out there.
03:45Oh, my wife's coming for pretty much the whole week.
03:48And so she's definitely going to book the whole schedule.
03:51You know, we'll be,
03:52we're a little bit more in Versailles for the week,
03:55but we'll try and travel down to the city a little bit for,
03:58for a meal, obviously see the Eiffel Tower,
04:01see if we can sneak in any other of the tourist opportunities.
04:04But yeah, I just, I think our guys are just so excited just to experience this.
04:08What kind of food are you planning on trying?
04:11Oh, I'm all in for anything.
04:13I'm an open book.
04:15I want to try the best.
04:16I know, I know the pastries and the croissants and all that are,
04:20are definitely going to be on our breakfast menu.
04:23And we'll go from there.
04:24Get some red wine too, at some point.
04:26Just a glass.
04:27Good one, right?
04:28Perfect.
04:29There you go.
04:31Listen coach.
04:32I wanted to say a quick word about you as well.
04:35All right.
04:35So you're, you're what?
04:3738 years old, right?
04:3838.
04:39Yep.
04:40All right.
04:40See, you're even younger than I am.
04:42And I'm here sitting on my couch and you're out there coaching an NFL team.
04:46What does it take to be a head coach in the NFL so young?
04:50Well, I think it's so many times it comes down to being fortunate to be around really great people.
04:55You know, I was fortunate to play in the NFL for six years with the Detroit Lions and the Dallas
04:59Cowboys,
05:00and then transitioned right into coaching in Dallas.
05:02And, you know, I've been in Dallas, Los Angeles with the Chargers.
05:06We were in Philadelphia a couple of years ago when we were able to win the Super Bowl.
05:10And that was a great experience.
05:11And it led us to this opportunity to be here in New Orleans.
05:14And, you know, I think it's just been a special experience.
05:17The NFL is a really challenging profession, but a really rewarding, really fun profession.
05:23And, you know, it's just such a great experience.
05:27What's the life like when you're an NFL head coach during the season?
05:30Or like, let's say, like from right now, from training camp till the end of the season?
05:34Like, do you even have time for yourself, for your family? Like, what's the life like?
05:39It's busy. It's definitely busy.
05:41You know, our end season, obviously, we have a rhythm and routine that is very consistent week in and week
05:47out.
05:47And it's obviously longer hours and you work a lot during the season.
05:51And we have four four little kids, you know, 12, 10, almost eight and three now.
05:57And so if I'm free, I'm definitely at a at a soccer game or a, you know, a soccer game,
06:04a gymnastics meet, a football game, whatever it may be that the kids are having.
06:09And so, you know, that certainly fills up a lot of our time.
06:12There you go. See, that's one thing you got to do here in Paris. Catch a soccer game at some
06:15point.
06:16Yeah, there you go. Football though.
06:19Football. All football. All right.
06:21Well, coach, it's been a pleasure talking to you. I'm looking forward to the game. Super excited to have you
06:25here in Paris in a couple of months now.
06:28And best of luck for the season.
06:31Thank you so much. Appreciate it.
06:32Thank you.
06:33Thank you.
06:33Thank you.
