00:00As you mentioned, this is a very important visit and also important BRICS meeting our president will meet.
00:08I think this is what people from both China and India want to see and also what people from the
00:14world want to see
00:15because China and India are two, we are neighbors, close neighbors, and we are also two largest developing countries with
00:21large populations.
00:22And if we work together, there's so much potential. We can work on trade, grain development, energy technology.
00:30There's so much that we can work on and that will benefit people from both our countries and the world.
00:36I'm sure the whole world and everybody in this room and the whole world are looking for the cooperation between
00:42China and India.
00:43I think you mentioned something very important because the current world order is slowly shifting.
00:49And what's the shifting? Because the developing countries, or what they call Global South countries,
00:54are demanding an equal world order that will answer the interests and demands of developing countries.
01:04And so members to BRICS Summit are all Global South countries.
01:09I've talked to people from all these countries before and they share a common concern
01:15is they feel the interests of their people are not being amplified at the world stage.
01:23Sometimes they have to sacrifice their own interests, national interests or sovereignty,
01:28in order to follow Western institutions' orders.
01:32So now through regional corporations like BRICS, like SEO, where we met, developing countries are raising their concerns
01:40and working together to enhance corporations like trade and green development.
01:45Especially now we have climate change or energy crisis.
01:49It's crucial that we all work together to answer our needs.
01:54And what China is, China really supports the development of Global South.
01:57And our president, President Xi, made it very clear, no matter what stage China is reaching its development,
02:04China will always be a member of Global South.
02:06And China always supports development of Global South, stands with Global South countries,
02:11to make sure our interests will be heard, to make sure the world order is fairer to all of us.
02:16So I'm thinking this summit definitely will have a lot of outcomes to enhance cooperation between China, India,
02:23and members and dialogue partners among all BRICS countries.
02:28There are certain bilaterals that your president is going to have, including a bilaterals with our prime minister.
02:33We are expecting that. What are the other bilaterals that you know of that he's holding?
02:38So far I'm not really clear with the information yet because we have to wait for the official information to
02:45be released.
02:47But whatever bilateral meetings will be at, they will be very important.
02:52Like I said, BRICS Summit is not an organization that targets a third party.
02:59BRICS Summit is about cooperation.
03:02And over the past decades, South trade has been growing dramatically.
03:09And that's beneficial to China, to India, to all member countries.
03:14So I'm really sure all the bilateral meetings that happen during this summit will benefit to all members of BRICS
03:22Summit.
03:23Your president is also expected to go to the US this month, I believe.
03:28And amid the rising tensions when it comes to trade and all between the US and China, how significant is
03:34that going to be?
03:36That is going to be very significant.
03:39I think the world has been seeing the trade war and the tariff war being launched,
03:43not just on China, but also on India or all the global South countries.
03:47And now leaders from both countries are willing to seek a solution through dialogue, through cooperation.
03:56That's great for everybody because no one wants to see conflict.
04:00Everything will be solved through dialogue for cooperation.
04:05That's going to benefit people, China, the US, India, everybody, because we've seen enough conflicts nowadays.
04:12No one wants more conflicts.
04:14So let's sit together, sit at a table and find peaceful solutions that will benefit the world.
04:18Future India, this year India will pass on the baton to China, which will hold the presidency next year.
04:24What would be China's focus?
04:27I'm so glad that now I come to India to attend this year's BRICS Summit.
04:32And next year's BRICS Summit will be held in China.
04:34And I really welcome everyone, including you, journalists, friends from India, to come to China to visit us.
04:41I'm so excited this BRICS, I'm sure everybody is very excited that this meeting will be held in China next
04:47year.
04:47China is preparing.
04:48And China has held many, many summits in the past few years.
04:52And I've seen hundreds and thousands of delegations from all around the world, from Global South, to come to China.
04:58And what I saw at every meeting is there are always a lot of deeper cooperations, not just on trade,
05:05not just on government officials, but also people-to-people exchanges.
05:08Now we have students from all around the world, including students from India that study in Chinese universities.
05:15I have Indian friends working in the same office with us.
05:18And these people-to-people exchanges and cultural exchanges will help us to understand each other, build trust.
05:25And that is what we need. When we want to work together and make the world much better, we need
05:29to build trust among the people, among the government.
05:32So I'm really looking forward to welcome all the friends and visitors from India, from all member countries of BRICS
05:38Summit to come to China and visit us.
