00:18Got a lot of friends, a lot of nice things,
00:22and I think it's going to be one of the best races in the year
00:26in terms of atmosphere, everything is really special here.
00:29What were the standouts for you when you tried the sim?
00:32I think everything, you know, the run-off areas, basically they're known.
00:36I think it's a proper track.
00:38I just think racing, potentially overtaking, can be a bit tricky,
00:43but yeah, proper track.
00:45Yeah, it's very cool.
00:46I always enjoy driving on new circuits,
00:48and this one looks to be incredibly interesting.
00:50It reminds me a bit of Jeddah and also Baku,
00:53almost like a hybrid of the two.
00:54So I think street track's always incredibly fun for us to drive.
00:59I'm not sure how the race will be on Sunday,
01:01but in general, it's always, you know, an extra challenge,
01:04which generally we tend to enjoy.

01:10I love the Bernabeu,
01:11so maybe I'm going to check it out at some point this weekend.
01:14And I mean, the track itself from the simulator looked insane.
01:19I mean, to drive was very fun,
01:21a lot of technical and twisty corners.
01:24I haven't been on track yet,
01:25but I'll go tonight.
01:26And from everything I've heard,
01:28it's definitely something very unique.
01:30So big challenge,
01:32but I'm excited for this type of weekends
01:36where everything is brand new for everyone.
01:38So far, so good.
01:40I guess we'll learn more in about 24 hours time,
01:43you know, when we hit the track.
01:44From the simulator, it's very fast,
01:47it's flowing,
01:48it's definitely intense.
01:49A lot of blind corners and exits.
01:54It seems like a challenging circuit.
01:56But yeah, we'll obviously find out in real life tomorrow
01:59and learn how things are,
02:01you know, grip level, tyres, etc.
02:04So yeah, getting ready for an exciting, busy weekend.
02:09Yeah, I mean, you make it seem like
02:10there's not been much new this year.
02:13There's already been quite a lot of new.
02:15But no, I think it'll be fun.
02:17I think it's going to be a big challenge for all of us.
02:19You know, drivers, boards, teams.
02:21I think there's a lot of new variables.
02:25So it'll be interesting,
02:26but I'm looking forward to it.
02:27First time in Madrid.
02:28Looks like a lovely city.
02:30I've been enjoying the foods.
02:32It's obviously Carlos' hometown.
02:34So he showed me around a fair bit yesterday
02:37seeing his karting track and whatnot.
02:39So that was fun.
02:41But then in terms of the circuit itself,
02:43most probably the track I've spent
02:45the most amount of simulator time on,
02:46just trying to understand the quirks of it.
02:49It's a really technical track.
02:50It's obviously very high speed
02:51and it's going to be a real challenge come qualifying.
02:54So I'm looking forward to that.
02:57I think the goal would be Q2.
02:59I think it will be a qualifying track anyway.
03:01So the focus is more on Saturday than Sunday.
03:04Let's see if it's enough.
03:06Yeah, it's a tough track.
03:10For me, with what I feel while driving,
03:12it's a little bit the same kind of sensation
03:14as what I get sometimes around Jeddah in places.
03:17Of course, Jeddah is faster on average with the corners,
03:21but the street circuit,
03:22the walls are quite similar
03:23in terms of how they are positioned.
03:25So I get a bit of a same sensation as Jeddah.
03:29But yeah, it's going to be tough.
03:31I mean, I think when F3 was testing it,
03:33there were a lot of shunts as well.
03:34So it's not an easy track,
03:35easy to make a mistake also
03:37with the layout of the track.
03:38And yeah, the curbs that are there,
03:40we need to run over a few of them.
03:42And that's normally not the strong point of our car,
03:44but we'll just try and do the best we can.
03:47Yeah, it seems a wild track, to be fair.
03:51I would probably put it in the top two
03:54or the top of the most risky circuits
03:57of the whole season.
03:59When I heard there was 20 red flags
04:02in the F3 test, I was quite surprised.
04:04Then I drove on the sim and I was surprised
04:06then there was only 20 red flags, you know?
04:08So it's mental, but excited to experience it.
04:13It's going to be a real challenge.
04:14And yeah, I think qualifying
04:15is going to be pretty important.
04:16It's not an easy track to overtake.
04:19You've only got one straight
04:20and, you know, the end of that straight
04:22is really curved
04:23and there's only one line into that tight chicane.
04:26So I think qualifying is probably going to be
04:29a bit like Singapore, you know?
04:33Singapore, it's not as extreme as Monaco,
04:35but yeah, around Singapore, I'd say,
04:37in terms of how easy to overtake.
04:41It's going to be a challenging track, definitely.
04:43And a lot of corners where you need to commit
04:47a lot to be quick.
04:49But if you get it a bit wrong,
04:50there's going to be big consequences.
04:52And I saw an F3, I think there was 19 red flags.
04:55So hopefully we don't have that many.
04:58But yeah, there's a lot of places
05:01where it's challenging.
05:04So I'm sure we'll find out tomorrow.
05:06Yeah, it looks interesting.
05:08A lot of corners.
05:10And it looks fun to drive.
