00:00We agree, the new trailer for the Harry Potter series is awesome.
00:04But one question keeps nagging at me: is Hogwarts a good school?
00:07I make videos about movies and TV series, subscribe.
00:10It's back to school time, so we're going to talk about how school is portrayed in TV series and...
00:14movies.
00:14Almost all of us dream of receiving our Hogwarts letter.
00:17But when you look at what actually happens to the students, it might be a very, very bad idea.
00:22First, let's talk about security.
00:23In his first year, Harry faces a troll in the school.
00:26He goes through a series of extremely dangerous trials and finds himself face to face with Voldemort.
00:31And that's just the first year!
00:33Then there will be the basilisk roaming the corridors, a tournament in which a student ends up...
00:37die.
00:38And even classes can be very dangerous.
00:40Hagrid presents potentially dangerous creatures to his students, and Snape regularly humiliates some of them, including Neville.
00:48And in terms of punishment, it's not necessarily any better.
00:51From the very first film, the 11-year-old students are sent into detention in the forbidden forest in the middle of the night.
00:58So yes, Hogwarts is probably the most magical school imaginable.
01:02But if we were to judge the institution solely on the safety and supervision of its students,
01:06The Ministry of Magic might have two or three inspections to organize.
01:10Because it's not very glorious, all of this.
01:12Thank you for watching this video!
