00:00As a French black girl living in Paris, sometimes I feel invisible.
00:03And it feels strange to say that when I know how much I give to build the life I want.
00:07I work on my content, my project, and myself.
00:10I try to stay authentic and create things that truly feel like me.
00:14And yet, sometimes I still feel invisible.
00:16Like, no matter what I do, I feel like I have to do a little more to be seen, heard,
00:21or simply accepted for who I am.
00:23And don't get me wrong, I love Paris.
00:25This city has given me incredible opportunities and allowed me to experience things that this 17-year-old girl who
00:32moved here could probably never imagined.
00:34But I think you can be grateful for a place while also realizing that maybe you started to reach its
00:40limit.
00:40Lately, that's exactly how I've been feeling.
00:43Sometimes I feel like I've reached a glass ceiling.
00:45And for a long time, my reaction was simply to work even harder, do more, be better, prove myself even
00:51more.
00:51But I'm starting to understand that sometimes the problem isn't that you're not doing enough.
00:56Maybe your current environment simply doesn't have enough space for the person you're becoming.
01:01And I don't want to make myself smaller or easier to understand just to fit into a space that wasn't
01:07made for me.
01:08So yes, sometimes it's exhausting, but strangely, now it also motivates me.
01:12Because if no one gives me the space I'm looking for, I'll create it myself.
01:17I don't want to wait for someone to open a door for me or give me permission anymore.
01:22I want to create my own stage, my own space and see how far I can go by simply being
01:27myself.
