00:33Well, my name is Pascal Dessuin, but I use for artworks the avatar Jordan Dio,
00:39because I'm French by civil status and half Swiss by blood.
00:43I studied cinema in Lyon in Paris, but my professional career went at first in the direction of business and
00:51commerce.
00:51Then, after selling my company, I returned to movies and video.
00:56And I discovered the web distribution facilities, AI subtitle creation, and access to a large number of festivals all over
01:05the world.
01:06So, the Zagoras festival invited me to Morocco for a week for another film, Great Lakes.
01:12And every day, early in the morning, late at night, between screenings, I was going into the streets with my
01:19camera, photographing people and talking with them.
01:22It was magnificent.
01:23I believe that every artwork is like a poem, and in poetry, style is very important and must correspond to
01:32the subject.
01:33So, I wanted to respond to the great impression Morocco made on me, and the photography, the snapshot, was the
01:41better medium.
01:42Video was only used during the travels in Bath to visit Zagora and surroundings, the desert of Sahara.
01:48Voice-over and horror and textual reflexivity allowed me not to fall into the tourist cliché and to move from
01:57documentary to fiction, in my opinion.
02:00Because I'm not a travel filmmaker, Morocco Landscape was my first travel report, and for me, it's like a fiction
02:06movie.
02:06I was in Africa for the first time, everything was new, surprising, so foreign, definition of quality cinema.
02:14And also seemed to me unreal or surreal, like a hologram, and well scripted as a great Technicolor adventure movie,
02:22a fiction movie.
