00:12A convocation is a moment of celebration, but not only a celebration, but a moment of great responsibility.
00:22Today you receive your degrees and tomorrow you will be entrusted with something for more valuable,
00:28the health, the trust and the lives of the people of our nation.
00:34AIMS Raipur was established in 2012 to address the regional disparities in healthcare, medical education and research,
00:44particularly in central part of our India.
00:49In a remarkably short period, it has evolved into a major tertiary care institution serving in Chhattisgarh and neighboring states,
01:00including the rural and mainly the tribal communities.
01:05The growth of AIMS Raipur is also a reflection of the remarkable transformation taking place in Chhattisgarh and all over
01:16the country.
01:17For decades, parts of Chhattisgarh faced difficulties, geography, inadequate connectivity and a grave challenge of left-wing extremism.
01:29In many of its remote and tribal areas, due to left-wing extremism, fear and violence become obstacles to the
01:38development.
01:40Where the roads should have been built, there were barriers.
01:44Where the schools should have been flourished, there was disruption.
01:50And where hospitals and healthcare should have reached our tribal and remote communities, there was often only a distance and
01:59deprivation.
02:02But the Chhattisgarh of today has come out of the shadows of its past.
02:07That is a great achievement and it is a very great news to all of us and is witnessing a
02:16new down of prosperity, development and progress.
