00:01Yeah, it was very traumatic, it was very emotional and it was nice to be here with them
00:08and to show support and there's a lot of warmth and they need a lot of help, a lot of
00:15love
00:15and we are trying to find ways of getting supplies and other things, clothes, various things out there that is
00:23required.
00:24So we're getting together some organisations and talking to them locally.
00:31Among the attendees of the vigil, Rajendra Pudasaini, who is originally from the town of Devigat in the Nuakot district
00:40of Nepal,
00:41said several members of his extended family have died in the flood.
00:45Earlier this week, the Nepal Tourism Board said over 500 foreign nationals remain out of communication.
00:53Nepalese authorities said among those unaccounted for are more than 30 British nationals,
01:00while Chinese state media on Sunday said 15 people from Britain were among 261 missing foreigners.
01:08It is unclear how many are included in the Nepal figures.
01:12The rivers are missing from Devigat to Roshua all the way up because we are from the downside of the
01:22terrain.
01:22My town is blown away and I'm across the river, the Tadi River, my house and the settlement is there.
01:32But, you know, our day to day town is gone where we meet and, you know, do other activities.
01:40You know, what happened in Nepal, that is a very sad thing.
01:43So lots of our friendly friends, they lost their life in there.
01:49So we thought we have to do something for the nation.
01:52This is the time to stand for the nation.
01:55That's why we decided to organize this gathering here.
01:58And we got Nepalese Culture Centre in the UK.
02:02So we organized today.
02:04We had around 150 people here from the West London.
02:10So very sad event, but the event was okay.
02:15Yes, these are such distressing scenes coming out of Nepal.
02:19And we feel for the people there and everything that they're going through at this moment in time.
02:24Such devastation of communities and already, sadly it seems, such huge loss of life.
02:31In the past, Nepal has been there for Britain in our hour of need.
02:35And we will be there for Nepal in its hour of need right now.
02:39So the immediate offer that the Foreign Secretary has relayed to the Nepalese Government is an offer of first responders,
02:46search and rescue support.
02:48Britain excels in this.
02:49And we're there and we're ready to be deployed.
02:52Obviously it's a matter for the Nepalese Government, but that is available.
